all PMs sent! painting starts today!

You can reinstall cooker and hood after removing them. I would suggest that u change whatever u need, dont bother about the so-called "package" promotion that the retailers are giving you. I bought my tecno cooker and hood separately and I still have savings of >$50 from the fake "bundle rate". even the "undertable / boss don't around / only for you" rates given to me by the sales persons are rubbish, dont fall for them. As long as your item size is standard, it is alright. But if u plan to use "chimmey-style" hood, then better to buy new and install now, since almost every chimmey is different. cooker really no issues, since they have standard sizes like 750, 800, 850.

The study looks like it can be converted into a really cool walk in wardrobe, and if it allows, maybe your dressing table too

I don't see any thick black lines in your original floorplan in the first post leh. only see fat hollow walls and thin hollow walls, so i assume thin hollow ones are not the building's beam. Confirm can shift. just re-route the water in pipe and waste out pipe. it's just a matter of if the pipings can be concealed since they will be longer. Also practicality - if the pipings need maintenance, the plumber must be able to access them. so if the pipings run for too long, u have to sacrifice some space to build access to them.

nice layout! seems like you can only hack 1/2 of the study's wall from the floorplan thou.

Hitachi R-W691FMSX - im totally in love with this fridge, has water dispenser, auto ice cube maker, french door without the middle divider, and most important, the eggs tray makes sense! how many times have u bought a tray of 10 eggs, and realised that your fridge can only hold 8 eggs?!?! Even though this means I have to sacrifice abit of cabinet/counter top space, and the power consumption is only 3 ticks, it is well worth it! big and chio! Panasonic NAF80B3HRQ - new model, 4 ticks :D WMF cutlery set Corelle dinner set - wife insisted on corelle and only corelle! Happycall set!

wow, didnt expect such a great response... took 30mins to reply all the PMs, now late for work haha. For those enquiring on aircon, note that I went ahead with the aircon partner of my ID but i requested for them to match the cheap pricing of Best T**H at AMK. I realised for aircon, it doesnt matter who u choose, as long as the installer is not the boss himself, u always have a good chance of aircon leaks, not cold, water dripping... all problems steming from installation. I workaround that by asking my ID to recommend, yet I control the price. this way my ID's reputation and working relationship with the aircon guy is at stake so both of them wont play play and thus - good installation Also, I will stop giving out my ID's contact for the time being, I realised that he is communicating less and less with me, think he has alot of enquiries to answer from the people here lol... still waiting for my finalized 3D drawings

Anybody Visit Aldeco Living At Jb Before?
lancified replied to Terencep's topic in Kitchen & Bathroom
they have delivery in Malaysia only. -
Thank you! It's good to share so that unscrupulous retailers/IDs/contractors cannot hold us mercy. Many times we get too overly headed with our reno that we don't see the predators behind us chewing away at our tails.

Normally, the product spec should show advertise the thickness. If it doesn't show, or u need to reconfirm the thickness, the most accurate way is to use a vernier caliper. hey hey lucky i was a good student up to secondary 2 lol. Or else, if the tool is not available to you, u can "guess-timate" by using an iron nail/5 cent coin, by performing the finger test, or by using your hands. Using nail/5cent coin: - the sink must be suspended in mid air via the edges; the bottom of the sink should not be touching anything. - drop the nail/5-cent coin from about 1/2 arm's length to the bottom of the sink. - listen the to vibration it produce. if vibrations are present, high chance that the thickness is way too thin (0.1mm - 0.3mm). Doing the finger test: - locate the weakest point in the sink. Usually it will be bottom of the sink in between the wall and the sink hole. - for small sinks, the weakness link is usually the outer edge wall. - using your thumb or index finger (whichever is stronger, for me is my middle finger ), push the point with one arm's strength. - take note if the metal sinks in easily. if yes, it shows that the metal is a poor material and is very prone to expansion/contraction and thus will fall to metal fatigue VERY easily. metal fatigue is a term to describe metals breaking due to stress over time. I learnt that from discovery channel LOL Hands method (ladies don't try this unless u are a fitness trainer) - take out the sink from the enclosure - hold the sink at both corners (ie top left corner and bottom right corner) - make sure the sales person is distracted - this is a job for the wife - TWIST IT! - gauge the metal flex. If too much flex, it means the metal is not rigid and is too malleable - very easy to change shape. However, you are not going to cook much, just go for the one you like

try using thick soundproofing materials such as dynomats. but it wont look so nnice

Definitely undermount. I like the "integrated feel" as well as the convenience of just sweeping water/waste into the sink easily. You can't do that with top mount. Bad point thou - if your sink ever gets damaged or you need a sink change, it is just troublesome since the sink is in between the counter top and wooden frame. you will need to remove the counter top, remove the sink and install the counter top back. For myself, I choose a better sink (1.2mm - how to crack? My wife dropped the display set by mistake, the tile in the showroom cracked, but the sink is still strong with no even a dent! ironman sink!) to prevent the problem of having a damaged sink. My MIL's sink at her place is only 0.2mm or 0.3mm thick, everything I cook and put hot water into the sink, it changes shape and produces "tong tong tong" sounds. Like expanding and contracting rapidly. Don't know when it will crack. Both my wife and I love cooking very much, in fact, most of our luxuries are spent on the kitchen. We managed to have a small "island", an built in oven and even a huge 2 door fridge details here, in our puny kitchen, anyone staying in compassvale pearl will know that the kitchen is puny lol.
-
BTW guys, when you buy your kitchen sink, make sure the metal thickness is at least 0.8MM or above. anything below that, will have chance of cracking when u pour boiling water into it. The sink i bought is 1.2mm thickness.
