U might want to consider contractors or builders directly which they will work with a QP (Qualified Person) to submit the plans for u. But most impt is to take a look at the Builders to Avoid thread to watch out for the conman in the market.

Hi all folks, Is doing A&A currently and thinking to install the open net fibre in my house. Would like to seek those who are already using the broadband fibre in your home for some advice. The open net guys told me that installing the termination point at my level 1 tv console area might result in weak signals for places like level 3. He told me to install in my storeroom which then I can run LAN points to level 2 and 3 so that I will not have signal problems. Problem is I have trouble running the wires up due to the hacking job that will be involved. Is it true that the signal is really weak if the termination point is at level 1? Would appreciate any advices from users.

Ok gotta my final bill for cargo and freight. It's really a killer paying the cargo in Singapore. Warehouse charges alone is $550... Which I really wonder omg why it could it so high???!!! Calculations confirmed that if I buy fr SG might only cost a bit more as quoted earlier.

I have also order quite a number of furnitures and lights from Bangkok. Now cargo in Singapore and awaiting the last part which I hope that will not give me a scare. Will update again.

I have ever invited nic and Wes to my place and pass them my floorplan but they did not return with quote. Did not bother to nudge them further for quote. Builders that I met but did not bother to follow up with quote, I just strike then out fr my list.

Hi madmax67, Tried to pm u but unsuccessful. When u planning to do yr a&a? I need to check with my builder first if his schedule does permits him to take up another job. So far I am quite happy working with him, as he is quite on the ball ( keeping my fingers crossed) and very knowledgable.

Hi vee, U mean have u signed up with them or not yet? Yes, I agree that during the initial quotation stage is terrible! I shown at least 10 or more builders my place and only got about 3 or 4 quotes in return. Think they all prefer to do reconstruction rather than a&a jobs.

The A&A works are in progress now. I did a roof terrace also with expected area gain of 1200sqf. I have also extend some part of living hall (which structural works needed) with a level 2 bedroom balcony.

Not a guru myself but I have to admit that items that invovles the structural changes will be costly. Seriously u might want to reconsider not shifting the stairs, might help u save a little. The golden rule is always get at least 3 quotes to compare. I think I did more sutff than u but my damages was around $450k, inculding carpentry and fittings.

Hung but not glued on right? Yes, I also think can remove cos my ex owner also took away anything that can be removed which also includes a mirror ( but not as big as the one u mentioned). Check with yr agent if in doubt.

Forgot to ask, what is yr existing built up area and expected area gain after a&a?

Did u ask around for more quotes? Good to do some comparison and u will be surprised by the vast quote differences from different companies.

Not the same contractor. I have no choice to get 1 and 2 levels ready as the top works will be installing a roof terrace that no way it can be ready in such as short time frame....

But yrs level 3 and 4 ready, by mine is level 1 & 2 ready, level 3 and 4 still ongoing. And I also plan to install digital lock for my main door. Yes...I cannont imagine living with dirt and dust but gotta no choice... Do not want to go thru shifting to temp rented place and shift again when ready.

Hey we are in the same shoes! I have in shift in mid Ded but only my level one and two is ready . Works will be ongoing cos I also need to handover my hdb in Dec. Full completion might be Feb or so.
