it really depends on a few things... 1) Budget 2) Space in kitchen 3) possibility of a lifestyle change later on (might cook more, might wanna make your own cookies etc for kids so that you can control their diet a bit more etc) I find meals prepared in the oven great...cos there is less clean up (dishes and kitchen)...less physical time in the kitchen...and healthy. Honestly, it depends on the individual. I hope that helps

cast iron pan...they have at tangs! Le creuset brand. But the scanpan ones are better. Have you snooped ard amazon? I just got a great cast iron pot (le creuset) brand really cheap and delivery was free!

IMHO a built in oven is a God send. Marinate stuff overnight, bring to room temperature and chuck into the oven. Job done.

At the end of the day, it is a personal choice. And as homeowners, we need to be respectful of that. Everyone has different needs and wants...with a budget to adhere to. It is not in anyone's place (except the homeowners) to comment on the validity of the design and materials. Eg: Some might say caesarstone is extravagant...but if it suits the homeowners needs (homeowners that cook a lot), then it is money well spent..... but to someone who only has a kitchen for show (for example) it is considered an extravagance. Potatoes...personally i say kudos for making your dream home come true...and enjoy it!

errrm...i would go look at the herbs first...make sure all the leaves are green...the price is just slightly lower than a nursery where you will have heaps to choose from.

Hey Sarah...sweet basil will also grow...go for it. Just make sure you buy your herbs from a nursery and not from Cold Storage fridge section...you know the little pots? those wont do as well as the nursery ones. I have given up on rosemary...just can't seem to keep that herb happy. Dill is easy too! mint is very easy too

Hey June...the thai basil thrive in our climate....and man does it grow...you might wanna try that. It just needs watering every other day...direct sunlight for least 4 hours a day. The plant will be a happy camper. Chilli padi is also very hardy...that is another option...that one...just stick a couple of seeds on a damp kitchen towel...and it will germinate
