  1. pretty much the same layout as mine!! happy and smooth reno!!
  2. Shirley, i think with the amount you plan to purchase..MAYBE Amcon is a better bet. Do a search around on forum...type in Taobao. I started a thread...heaps of helpful tips there. HTH
  3. Cute table! Didn't see that in the latest catalogue. Nice buy
  4. I think all home renos have to factor in unforeseen expenses. Just to share, we didn't plan to change our windows for the house now...but well...due to water seepage...bye bye 3K plus. LOL....beams appeared in strange places...that needed to be leveled out or else they would be unsightly...again..pay...LOL...these things happen. Think just try and put aside at least 10% of reno cost aside...as a buffer for unforeseen expenses.
  5. HAHAHA this made me chuckle....just the way it was phrased..
  6. Thanks...we are also quite excited...fingers crossed the laminates we have chosen will work...i am pretty nervous about that....i cannot wait for the campbells lights to go up! The agony! LOL
  7. it's open and airy now cos there is no carpentry...all about to change this Friday! LOL
  8. lucky gal! Those crates are hard to come by...mostly because most winemakers have switched to the cardboard boxes...if i am not wrong...only bordeaux are still being packaged in these wooden crates

  10. Chin up...at least you don't have to worry about the pic below... (just trying to cheer you up )
  11. In a perfect world...I would have three weeks from now till move in too! But due to work constraints...i have to move in earlier...my carpentry installation has not even started but I have arranged for all delivery, and movers to get the house sorted by 9 Oct. We plan to spend our first night in the home on 9 Oct...boy oh boy...it is worrying.
  12. Oldskool...you have been real quiet...hope everything is well...post more pictures soon ya
  13. i tried that with my contractor...i think it works out to be about close to 30% savings...was thinking of getting my tiles from JB...in the end...for all the coordinating and stress if there isn't enough tiles, i scrapped it
  14. Yup...i teach cooking classes on weekends...proceeds from the class goes to a charity i have been working with for almost ten years now. Here's the link to past events...once i move in...i plan to start them again. https://www.facebook.com/CulinaryNess/events
  15. Just keep repeating what i was telling myself..."it's ok....it is a need..not a want....this will go to more robinsons vouchers too...it's ok.." LOL
  16. LOL...i remember the crazy weekend of light purchasing for the house...man...i was signing and signing...and making a mental note of total spend...quite scary!
  17. HAHAHAHA I have to be extra careful cos i plan to conduct cooking classes at the new home. Yes, i think it is very similar to solid surface...but Kompactop looks prettier
  18. for kompactop...tumeric...red win and chilli oil stained...but it could be a chemical reaction of all the different liquids that cause it to stain. LOL not sure. To be fair...quartz didn't hold up to my staining too. oh! i did use my fav chef knife to scratch the kompactop...and i could FEEL the indentation but it was not visible. If that makes sense. Just a heads up to be careful
  19. Thanks OceanEleven...i have put this on my wish list....maybe purchase this later. As for the plug...can't we just change it to a singapore plug?
