  2. She is still figuring out the place...don't think she realises this is her new home...she is still a little cautious...
  3. Circulating of heat shouldnt be an issue with convection oven...the problem with convection oven is the cakes don't brown as nice. If the middle isn't done...resist the urge to pull the cake out...test the middle...when a satay stick poked into the middle comes out crumb free, it is ready
  4. Sorry, but i agree with Apple1. My IDers work with any contractor we wanna engage...and we ended up "interviewing" five. When our IDers went through the quotes...so that everything was laid out in detail...and that we could look at the costing of all 5 quotes fairly. A lot of things were missing from some quotes...and that is how cost is hidden by contractors. Be very careful. We really took our own sweet time sorting out the cost and finalizing everything before signing...that way we dont have any surprises. And we are in control of the cost. HTH
  5. Loving your Tikiboy! And your new home of course. Btw...my contractor re-painted all my old bedroom doors and redid my main door too. Maybe visit my blog and have a look...not sure if it will help
  6. I have seen a lot of people construct something like the pictures above for their electric kettle and rice cooker. They would extend it when they need to cook. There was one person on RT..so sorry i can't remember the name of the blog...they made a cabinet door..so when they opened it...it would automatically extend the shelf out...thought that was very nifty.
  7. LOL...max was also very shy and timid...if we had too many people in the house...especially kids disturbing him...he would get so stressed he would throw up! LOL. He hated pictures...after each snap...he would bark at me...LOL...he never got use to pictures...
  8. Key is to not add on once everything in the quote has been agreed upon...that way your buffer of 10% of reno cost is just there for emergency..when unexpected things crop up
  9. I am assuming you plan to bring furniture from your current place. Start shopping around and shortlist furniture pieces you like and how much they cost. After walking around a fair bit...i realised that i had to manage my expectations and relook my budget for certain items.
  10. Frankly, 55k is very reasonable....depending on the age of your flat, you might wanna reconsider the wiring...safer to rewire if it is a old flat. It cost me about 4K plus to rewire mine...peace of mind la.
  11. i was tempted to get more of the chopping board and use them as a serving plate...BUT the **** handle will get in the way...so i scraped that idea
