Soft Closing Systems For Cabinet Doors Reviews
jaglim replied to Teofamily's topic in Carpentry Works
Soft closing hinges is good especially if you have younger kids. they tend to slam the door. But do buy better ones like Blum. The cheaper version will not last. I thought these are norm for any contractor to offer?? The question should be would you like to top up for better brands? -
This photo inspired me for my new kitchen top. Bought an under mount sink over white solid surface. The only risk as i was told is that IF the sink is damage, my whole solid surface may need to be replaced in order to change the sink!! Overall length is 25feet!

Pricing are more or less the same everywhere you buy in Sgp. So unless you purchase many other stuff from the same shop, chances are very little discount. In my opinion, don't need to go to those with big shop front. Try some smaller retailer. They may not have it on display (which you can view from bigger showroom). but they might just sell you at lower price. And normally through their catalog or brochures.

I have explore this option for my new house. As i need 2 cameras and 4 LCD display, they cannot be integrated. One advise is to use Cat5/6 cable instead of the given 4core cabling. It provides you spares in future use. I gave up on the video thing but stick with Panasonic advanced hybrid telecom system instead.

Cheaper To Get Contractor Or Find My Own Suppliers ?
jaglim replied to super9038's topic in Home Furnishings
I have explore this route before i engaged an ID firm. Unless you know the process in reno and have time to co-ordinate, it is very tedious to DIY.(also depend on your degree of reno) 1 option is to engage a coordinator. Look for your carpenter, wet-work team (who usually have electrician and plumber) and ceiling guy. The coordinator will produce design and help monitor your progress. Depending on your degree of work, they charge around 2K up. Yes, you may save 20-30% but there are any small details surely to pop up during the whole process. Dont forget, your coordinator is not going to hold liability for the quality and any screw-up if it does happen. -
H Clive, It's good to hear that you are recovering from the back aches. I know how it feel and i more or less know where my problem lies. It is due to bone spurs. under xray, it shows a lot of tiny spur around my neck. They somehow poke into my nervous system causing me ache and pain in different parts of the body. MRI also detect squeeze between my spine (L7-L8 i think) 2 weeks ago i visited Quan-Qi-Tao, went there twice a week for tui na and acupuncture. It does help relief some pains so i thought perhaps i should stick with them for a while more. Each session cost around $60. If 3-4 months later i don't see any more improvement, will probably visit your doctor. Once again, thanks.

Beware ! Check & Ensure You Power Cables Quality
jaglim replied to new_home_maker's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Imperial sounds familiar..... I am no air-con expert, but the office opposite mine does air-con installation, so has chat with them. I was told some supplier use re-con cable and tubing since it will be concealed anyway. Also, i remember something like they should lay 4core cable. 1 extra wire in-case any wire got problem. Model also very important. For un-suspecting customer, they could even use re-con compressor with new fan coil. Since fan coil is much cheaper and easily seen. -

Thanks, Can share the spec of your $200 dome camera? As i mentioned, i've let my technician lay the cables. i only need to engage someone to supply and install the recorder and cameras. Of course, settings of software too. All cable using RJ45 line, un-crimped. Does that mean costing is $1380+ 3x200+ 1x350 = $2130?
-
Hi, In one of your photo, i see a camera stick to a box. Are you using RJ45 cable and video convertor to run the line? I had my technician lay 4 cameras for me (using cat5e RJ45 cable) and i got all the video convertor accessories. I was planning to buy cameras and recorder from SLS when its done. Do you provide installation of cameras (3x indoor 1x outdoor and 4 channel recorder with 500GB)? Can PM me you spec and pricing?

He don't just borrow from James, he paid James. Many a times, James will have few HDB licenses, one for his own business and other to be 'rented'. In short, they are all black sheeps...no Bond at all!

Hi autopage76, you are correct. weiken is too commercialized. if you look closely, EVERY line item are over-charged!
i was served by Emily and her boss Don. IMO, they have very little experience although they head the whole company in Sin Ming.

$18,000 For Electrical Work..too High Perhaps?
jaglim replied to yunn26's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
You mentioned A&A, not rebuild. So i guess not all point need to be concealed right? If i remember correctly, some will charge a conceal pricing (ie hack and embed inside wall) even if points are hidden through false ceiling and/or carpentry works. You may want to ask a second opinion. Ask if other electrician can quote other than conceal or by 'length' to be laid. In anyway, no harm finding out more from what other electrician have to say. Good luck. -
Vinyl (Resilient) Flooring Or Parquet Flooring?
jaglim replied to mkv's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
Are you referring to asbesto found in vinyl? -
i am also looking for downlight for my new place. Am considering LED although i still doubt it can have any significant $ saving over normal PLC. But i good thing i like about LED is that it is not as hot and the light projected is more consistant. I found this shop in AMK that sell very cheap LED lighting. A 13W 130mmx130mm downlight cost $28. Saw the driver, those china made type. I was wondering if i buy just its LED and then source for my own driver (say HEP). Will that helps to prolong the life span?

I have a rather long history of back ache and regular stiff neck. Done MRI, Accupunture, Physio, etc but not much improvement. Am thinking of Tui Na but hope to find a good recommendation (preferably in AMK area).

Hi Edmund, When you say make a switch. Do you mean to switch your savings or loan to another bank? Savings as we know has limited guarantee from MAS and there should be no problem for any takers. But for a loan, i am curious to know what will happen?
