Structure of kitchen carpentry work (below window recess area) is up. Top and bottom cabinets in the service yard where the sink is located. From sink/service yard area into the kitchen where stove and hood will be installed. Image 1 Image 2 My apologies, the image is blurry. A walk-in toilet. Built-in oven and microwave oven will be placed on the left-hand side on the shelves. Right-hand side will be some pull-out storage (e.g. tomatoes, potatoes etc). I use tempered glass panels instead of metal railings which cost more. Based on your quote of $4k, I would think that it's around the correct price. If you are lucky, you might get something cheap by a few hundred bucks but based on current market prices on materials, Best of luck in your search! -
Yeah......'Don't play play'.......LOL

I like the look of your bar counter! My husband is **** old-fashion, he doesnt want any feature-wall as he that we are unable to move the TV to another location IF we decided to change the configuration of the living area. I am not sure how he is going to hide those wires neatly!

I believe my contractor is using real wood planks for my flight of stairs as the total cost to just re-constructing that 1 flight of stairs has cost us a leg and an arm. Nonetheless, we are very with the end result.

Old neighbours? Or new neighbours next door? I have some old good neighbours and I will definitely invite them to the house-warming. For my new neighbours, I will just walk over them to extend my invitation on that day. I will be catering so there will be more than enough food to share, so why let it go waste? Besides, it is always good to build up a good rapport with neighbours; we never know when we need their assistance eh?

Before I was married, in my mum's place, we have been using Samsung washer and it has never given a tad bit of problem and it last years. Now that I am married, my mum is still using the washer. Hence, in my own place, I just go ahead to purchase a Samsung washer. My fridge is also from Samsung. In summation, a Samsung or a Fisher & Paykel are the 2 brands I will trust.

Do you want Aluminium or Wrought Iron gate? We spent 2 weeks just googling to look for the designs. The husband and I are quite disappointed with those off the shelves design so eventually we ordered one that we like (with help of my contractor); we paid more as it is custom-made. I was told that the price ranges from $280-500 for normal designs gate. But it can shoot up to $600-800+ for a custom-made wrought iron gate. The price varies a lot, so it's better that you do some research on the type of material you like before you place an order.

The painting of my EM and doors (as we did not change some of them since they are very sturdy and in good condition) is $2,200. How many layers of paint? Brand of paint use?You didnt state is yours 4-room, 5-room unit? I reckon $2000-2200 for painting whole EM/EA is quite normal now.

I have my parquet floor in the bedrooms all sanded and had damage ones repaired. The finished product is matt-finished.

In case, we changed our mind later to move furniture around, buying a TV console off the rack seems make more sense than custom-made one which cost more. After spending hours in the shopping mall, we have decided on this (nothing fanciful but simple design) for our Ivory sofa set and walnut coffee table (FOC with the sofa set).

How Much Cov Have You Paid?
kooky replied to spikedoll's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
Based on your brief description, I reckon the asking of $35k COV is for the fact that flat is within close proximity to all the amenities. If amenities are in your ticked box, then you must be willing to depart with your cash. Best of luck in your flat hunting :-) -
We have not decided yet but will be one of those series 6 older model. We will probably pick up a 46 or 50-inch one......methink is the 'E' model. I let the husband to choose. TVs is like laptop and PCs, there is no way we can keep up with them and can't afford to upgrade every 6-12 months. So long it does the job, that will do. Most of the time, we just use the TV to play cartoons DVD for my girl :-)

No one has mentioned they like your dining chairs. Erm, maybe I am a weirdo....I like the look of the chairs! We are tossing to get a Samsung TV which is older version; series 6 only since we will not be using the TV to surf net nor are we couch potatoes, so a normal TV should do. That will help to save some costs too. Your timing is just right for the new addition in your family! Hope everything will be smooth....all the way until the baby is born

Yeah lor! If everything also want the top of the class, we will be bleeding profusely......haha My definition of a home is a place where my husband and I looking forward to coming back after a day at work and a safe place for my child. I can accept some flaws/imperfection in the renovation since I am not trying to create/display a showflat :-) We usually inspect the flat during weekends instead of daily as it is usually better to check it out when workers are not around and to avoid causing disruption to them. Will try to take some more pictures.

Thank you, thank you! We can't afford to use quartz for the entire flat. Just solid surface top by Samsung Staron.
