We did not conceal the storage tank in the common bathroom since there is sufficient space to 'park' it there. We didn't think it is an eyesore. Toilet accessories (e.g. soap holder, toiler roll holder, mirror etc) are not up yet so the bathroom looks rather bare.

View from the living area. You see the common toilet with bi-folding door closed. When the laminate bi-fold door is closed, you dont see the toilet :-) The quartz are not ready so the breakfast counter and kitchen and sink top are bare now. We can't cook for the next 3-4 days at least! Above the breakfast counter, a display cabinet for wine glasses. Service yard where washer and dryer and sink are supposed to be. However, washer and dryer are not hook-up because the painter has yet to paint the wood behind and do some touch-up. The sink can only be installed when quartz top is completed. A glass panel to be installed between the living room and sink.

I use the mover company that both of my colleagues strongly recommended. These guys are quite prompt; they arrived at my place 10 mins after 9:30am and they are organised. They loaded the furniture in 2 truckful and before 11:00am, the move was completed. I have no missing items and they did not break any of my stuff. Their quotation is not the cheapest but for the service, promptness, well-organised and politeness, I am a happy customer.

Sorry everyone! I have no internet connections at home yet. SCV will only come down to my flat to connect the line this Thursday. There are still lots of fixing up to be done. I will try to upload some photos later this afternoon. Thank you so much for your care and concerns!
  5. I also have my quartz counter top from Lian Hin. I believe my contractor did mention it is the material is from China but it's as durable as those that claimed to be be made from Europe. Reason being that at the end of the day how durable a item/material is depends on the user. So many people want to buy quartz that are made in Europe but how can you be 100% sure that yours is? Cost wise, it would cost 30-40% more for same material but if it's made in Europe as one has to factor in the import tax, shipment cost etc. There is a saying '羊毛出在羊身上'. Metaphor somewhere to spend still be retrieved from somewhere. You pay for what you get.
  6. OMG, we are moving in on the same day! Congrats to both of us! I am glad that reno is coming to an end though there will still be minor touch-up here and there but we are really thrilled that we can finally move into our 'own' place!

I bought the sofa set and the coffee table comes FOC. When we went back to the shop to make full payment, this coffee table is no longer in display. You might want to go to Bez Gallery to check it out.

Thank you so much!! We went to the flat again to check out on the sofa set and coffee table which are delivered late this afternoon. We were quite pleased that the sink, cook-top and oven have been installed. Just came back from the flat an hour ago. Will try to upload more pics shortly. Stay tune.......
  13. Haha....great minds think alike, I suppose! If a product is so wonderfully good and reliable, why would it needs lifetime warranty huh? Hehe......
  14. Hi, you mentioned you have a baby girl? Apart from getting tired/bored of the platform look; for safety purposes; you might want to re-consider your choice; especially if your girl is starting to crawl and learning to walk. All the best to your reno!

Acid wash has been done and sofa set will be delivered in late afternoon today. Some glass works in the living area, MBR bathroom and kitchen will be installed today or tomorrow. The rest of the carpentry works in the kitchen should be up latest by tomorrow. Our packing is 75% completed. According to my contractor, there will be minor touch-up and installation of the breakfast counter top will only be done after we've move-in which we feel it's not a drama and we can live without the breakfast top temporarily.

Wardrobe in my daughter's room Wardrobe in our bedroom. TV console and drawers under the window recess area in the Master bedroom Due to budget constraint, we did not do up the guest's room. However, we will acquire some off the shelves furniture to furnish that room over the next couple of months since we do not normally have guest who will stay overnight.

This evening, we decided to go to the flat to inspect on the progress of the carpentry works as we were quite disappointed on our last visit on Sunday that the laminate doors/drawers and the cabinets are not up. When we arrived, it was almost 6:30pm and was surprised that there are 3 men working. Here are some shots we took and quite happy that they have cleaned up the floors and also done 70% of the carpentry works but still there are glass works that need to be done before home appliances can be installed. Common toilet on 1st floor (didn't turn on the light). Didn't take the other side of the wall where shower head is installed because the worker is fixing some stuff up. Bathroom in Master bedroom. Might request the contractor to move the washbasin slightly to the right-hand side so that is not too close to the toilet bowl.
  20. Finally, I get to see your wife (though she is covering her face) and her baby bump. Nice!
  21. As we will likely to leave our main door opened most of the times when we are at home, we do not intend to install aircon at the ground floor. But we have done is installed ceiling fans but we leave the dinning area out due to the height limit - I believe after installing the ceiling fan, there should be at least 2 metres gap. If needs arises, we will buy a standing fan.
  22. In another words, if you took up a bank loan (which is similar in my case), you can tell the banker how much you want to be taken out from your CPF account and they will proceed with your instructions accordingly.

Met up with the curtain/blinds guy. He took measurement of all the windows and recommended blinds instead of curtains to us according to our needs and requirements. He is fully aware that we are moving into the flat on May 10th and even if he try to rush the worker to make these blinds, it will take 8-9 days to complete 9 sets.

Thanks, Makanology :-) We didn't have any space planning beforehand and we started renovating our flat without a theme. Through months of renovation, we (contractor and us) have lots of discussions on how we can create more storage space for our small kitchen. I have to applause my contractor for being so patience and he has indeed come up with a few good ideas which we never thought it would work. There will be minor works even after our move but these are acceptable.
