  1. wah she call you ah boy...good luck no? lol.
  2. Seems reasonable, don't think for condo and HDB got any difference. Ask contractor what happens if price of tile is more than $3 dollars I guess, how much more if it's $3.50 etc. Based on my very limited experience at Hafary and the rest of the tile shops along that row, not that many $3 dollar tiles to choose from. As for the craftstone, are you doing the whole living room or just one wall? For one wall it's a little bit expensive i think.
  3. love the combined toilet! what's going to happen to the pipes in between the 2 existing toilets?
  4. building of false ceiling and running of electrical wires should be done by this week...contractor has gone for a holiday with his family..so general renovation things will be left alone for 1 week. oh well...
  5. icic....but if your mum or you are going to cook often, induction not the way to do..since most HDBs (old ones) can only supply enuff electricity for 2 cooking hobs.
  6. glad to see your reno going on well! Hope to see final pictures soon.
  7. hmm...Stirfry cannot use induction? My theme? not really going for full industrial, more of having a very raw feel in terms of materials (i guess that is industrial to a certain extent). Will be softening up the house with colourful fabrics, sofa and furniture..and possibly some art prints i bought...except all those are rather dark in colour and theme as well.. Was not really going in a very strict direction in terms of my decor...just general feelings about what i love to have and see...am still keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it all turns out well.
  8. icic..ya..the COV here is ridiculous! mine was one of the lowest...lol i'm using induction, so not sure if there is gas piping..but i think have..coz the previous owner don't have gas..then again..the previous owner don;t have anything!
  9. Another 3 Roomer Yay! Don't worry too much about the Scandi style that you want, choice of furniture and laminates can work in your favour. Do lots of research, lots of scandi style T-blogs in renotalk, check out websites etc and pick the right choices! The 3D drawing looks pretty nice.
  10. I'm relatively new to the area, been living across the bridge all these while..Just shifted to Potong Pasir as it's near to my parents. How come you never purchase flat at Potong Pasir? They are rarely being sold though.
  11. was ar Yong Siak Street yesterday to buy stuff and chanced upon this cafe...really lovely! Wish I can have those green doors in my flat! Bought a pressie for my nephew...when he outgrows it, I'll take over it to use as decor for my flat!
  12. The industrial look is almost coming together..it's rather dark and not many people like it..but i like being surrounded by cement and concrete..feels safe. was thinking of painting my doors..but actually wood looks pretty nice too. Just need to change my warped front door. Craftstone bricks also came. Not going to paint over it so that it retains that original raw look.
  13. Ah....u like Potong Pasir? So do I...very quiet and a bit of kampong feel to it! Already making friends with one of my neighbours! Blk 105, almost bought a flat in 107 though, but they were asking for almost 30k more COV then what I paid for my current flat.
  14. Concrete shelves are finally done! They look like they are free floating..now to wait for them to dry. Oddly enough the contractor also redid my stairs without asking me.
  15. I really like it when a flat gets hack...the raw state is always so beautiful. Can't wait to see the final result!
  16. more concrete/cement! Doorside concrete bench...doubles up as a side table for the sofa shelves! made of concrete again. Wires also ran around the house, hopefully all done by this weekend.
  17. nothing much going on, spoke to electrician about power points and stuff...and almost fainted from inhalation of the fumes from the cement sealant...ugh Just trying a cool shot of the renovated areas:
  18. ah..you are hacking your flooring too, might take longer than mine. P/s: you really going to have a see through door and no grilles for your windows? It does look much nicer though.
  19. Hacking of the one wall, kitchen and toilet floor, false ceiling and part of the flooring took about 2 days.
  20. hmm...hacking of toilet walls in your type of flat seems quite common, I think he must have sat on the application for quite a while.
  21. Hmmm mine was approved within a week. So does HDB want from you now?
  22. Contractor was sealing up the cement wall to some horrible smelling sealer.... we both felt faint after he finished applying it to the kitchen and decided that we better get out of there before we really collapse... the remaining walls will be sealed rest of the week! Items ordered, fridge, oven, hood and kitchen faucets also all arrived! Staying put in the MBR until kitchen is done up!
  23. Entrance platform and inner living room platform done! Now waiting for cement to dry.
  24. Very similar layout to my flat, kitchen island too! It's nice to have a place to sit around and chat even while cooking! All the best for your Reno!
  25. Unfortunately I'm not a contractor.. No idea where to get stuff. U can try the McPherson industrial areas, I've seen some woodworking shops there
