  4. Just to share, i bought a Samsung bottom-freezer, model RL4013UBASL Reasons: 1. Nice sleek, stylish design, looks like Fisher&Paykel 2. The capacity is just nice for a small family, about 400l 3. Inverter technology 4. Affordable price at slightly more than 1k 5. 10 year warranty on compressor 6. 4 ticks More info at: http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/home-appliances/refrigerator/bottom-freezer/RL4013UBASL/SS
  5. any of u buy in JB? will it be cheaper?
  6. 1000miles, just slightly bigger than urs. Is 142 sq.m Here's the revised layout plan. I have relocated the dining to the kitchen.. The wet kitchen will be smaller, more practical. The original dining area will be my children playground and my working desk..
  7. Hi Lancified, Would you mind elaborating why Heavy Industries is more energy saving than Starmex? I'm in the midst of selecting aircon for my unit as well ! TIA ! Anyway i'm looking at 24k + 12k + 9k +9k, with looooooooooooooog piping from the master bedroom compressor up to the living hall.. so i definitely looking for something which is more powerful. I know Starmex has a 38000 btu one..
  8. Just to share what i have gone through recently... My designer came out with a 'cosy' theme for the living, mainly beige/white/brown color...she proposed timber furniture for her design... But my wife loves, and yes, very in love with a black/white leather sofa. Cannot blend in. She is disappointed. We then consulted Fengshui master to audit our house. He advised us to use black/white theme in our house (dunno both of them got 'pakat' or not), so end up have to ask the designer to change the design again to modern.. And now my wife happily bought the sofa set. Is a waste of time and the designer's effort.. For me, get the furniture you like first, then only decide the design them. Very simple, nice and cheap furniture is hard to come by, esp the one you like it very much. Design can change easily. Ultimately, the owners have to be comfortable. And yeh, u can get the home appliances at a later stage, i.e. when you commence your renovation. I only started to purchase furniture and home appliances after we have finalized the design.. Anyway my personal experience is you wont really save much from those expo/mega sales. In fact, none of my furniture/home appliances got from these sales. Too crowded, and the price difference isnt that much. I prefer to visit those stores, and slowly choose what i want. I always believe those price slashed one , 80% is definitely not something good... Good thing doesnt come cheap and cheap thing doesnt come good.. hehe
  9. Doomsday, you may wan to check with those that i have short listed. You may refer to my T-blog under my signature.

  13. Hi Potatoes, The existing studyroom had been torn down by the previous owner, but i'm planning to reconstruct back cos i really need 4 rooms. A spacious living room of course would be impressive.. but.. too bad There will be some changes on the layout.. will post it once my ID has finalized the drawing..
  14. congrats salseraritz ! Mine also starting works on next Tuesday ! excited yeh !
  15. FatFatFamily, i also suggest to remove the reflective mirrors on the feature wall. it looks nice at a first glance. but when u watching tv, u will feel the reflection is irritating. Your focus point on the tv will be distracted. I'd suggest to replace the top banner with laminate finishes, probably something similar to your coffee table or furniture. The bottom without will do since u have the tv console for the contrast. Anyway, i spent about half an hour in tiles shop few days ago to select the tiles.. i mainly follow designers' comments haha
  16. Hi 1000miles, we are in the same neigbhourhood ! Mine also an EA but at Teck Whye ! My reno will commence next week. Nice meeting you and will be following your blog.
  17. Any idea how many is allowed for an EA? Based on my observation, it would appear that only one is allowed.. cos most of them only have one installed.. How can i apply for an additional compressor to be installed?
  18. Have purchased the following furniture from Cellini
  19. Fengshui Mastersss (1 master 2 disciples) and my ID were discussing on the layout... luckily not much changes.. phew !! My master proposed Modern Black and White theme..
  20. Finally got the keys yesterday and on the same day itself, my ID had brought various groups of contractors to take measurements, this and that.. very efficient ! Based on my FSM's advice, next Monday will be a good day to start work ! Huat ar !! Here's the original condition of my humble house
  21. Have met about 15 IDs and shortlisted 3 1. Inside Living - Jessie 2. Inspired by Dtrenzo - Russell 3. *** Lifestyle - Roger Finally we decided go for Inside Living, mainly because my wife is more comfortable to deal with a female ID. Personally i felt that 3 of them are equally professional and good. Pricing wise are also competitive. Cant comment on the workmanship, but i guess they arent too far away based on the reviews on this forum.
  22. Minerat, how come you need to change your LED so frequent? I thought LED suppose to have very long lifespan?
  23. some said a house with good fengshui is good, regardless which kua group you belong too. They look at the orientation of the house, surroundings, environments and etc. but not your bazi/kua number.
  24. I know they offer very competitive prices for home appliances but i hardly see any of the members mentioned here buying from them.. any reason behind?
  25. Piggicia, if i were you, i'd feel the same. No one will feel comfortable staying in such house. Especially when it is made known to you. For natural death cases i still can accept.
