Isn't DC29 the model u have? You are confusing me DC29 is barrel type and avail only in Courts. Yeah, I used Dyson's website to filter out models suitable for home with pets and DC24 came out. DC24 is what Dyson categorize as an Upright model, which is in between stick and barrel types. -
On the search for vacuum cleaner now! Was more or less fixed on buying Miele until Summersann and Makanology introduced me to Dyson. Went to try out Dyson DC38 and I must say I'm sold! I love Dyson's handle, very ergonomic and easy to use. Totally beat that Karcher steamer/vacuum combi model's handle, which doesn't feel good in my hands. Having said that, the various accessories Miele provide in the package are more enticing! Will go try out Dyson DC24 first then see how. Anyone with recommendation of vacuum cleaner suitable for home with cats, feel free to share here!

Ya I agree that Salad has some nice home decor stuff. Makanology, the "flower lamp" are what Summersann used in her kitchen. The row of cute little white lamps

Wa, that's super nice! looks so neat. I went Tangs n Taka just now, tried Miele and Dyson and I prefer Dyson. Only tried the DC38 multifloor. Taka didn't have DC24 which is of upright design (shortlisted this cos I went to use Dyson website's filter and this model surfaced for homes with pets), not sure if maneuvering it as smooth/easy at the barrel ones. DC38 cost $899! I think i won't rush into buying it tomorrow at tangs sale, shall wait for next taka sale which i heard from promoter is in May. -

Dc29 didn't come up when I use its filter to check for models suitable for home with pets. It's quite heavy yah - 8kg compared to usually 5+kg models. How is its ease of use? Yes, please help me ask her and let me know again. Thanks! and summer is right, you should wait for GSS, can go apply membership cards from different department stores to get more discount/rebate. Super auntie but that's a way to save some money -

Hey sorry, just a clarify, does the power socket goes in on top (where the accordion base is), then comes out near your wall plug? If not how to attach to electricity? -
Wa, nice! You used aliwangwang to correspond with seller? $16 is via air or ship? Pretty reasonable!

I get what you mean! The ikea's version pix shows a power cord, that's why I suspect it's like that. After drilling a hole for the power socket to go thru, have to mend or plaster the hole nicely? -

Wa you very power! Can tumpang? lol Any idea if this lamp's power is to be attached to normal power socket, or must have the elect wiring run in the wall and attach to it? Pai seh, not sure how to describe. hope you get what i mean. -
Yes, i plan to cook... Will fix recessed downlight on kitchen ceiling, and may add light below top cabinet. The red cage is more for "deco". Hehe.

Alternatively, as what summersann suggested to group similar-shaped lamps together, should i just go for 2 green lamps above the dining table? Btw, anyone here knows how the PM inbox works? After I deleted numerous PM (just individual pm, not entire thread), my inbox is still 95% full
-
Let me go home and check and let you know again
-
Did a simple photo editing to put these together. Note that it's not in proportion...The green lamp is 25cm in diameter, 20cm in height. Based on what I found online, the caged lamp is about 10cm diameter (when closed) and 17cm tall, but this may not be representative of all similar lights. Will these go well together above my pencil leg dining table?
-
Thanks Vanessa and Retch! I may have an extra one of this red caged light which I wanna sell, anyone interested?

This looks nice! How come I can't find the matte black / white tap on Ikea sg website? -
I think the hardware shop at Tiong Bahru sells both of these, if I rem correctly! Will go see and update you ya.

WA, you are so creative! Why haven't I thought of that. Hmm, but I not into naked light bulbs... mine is actually not totally industrial but more towards vintage timeless style. You gave me an idea, perhaps can try the small wavy lamp shades summersann used in her kitchen? I know they come in white, green and a few other colours. Or perhaps simple metal cage lights with bulbs inside, something like this? http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0k.1000775.1.166.azbbo9&id=19430576233 Suddenly remember I saw this green industrial looking lamp shade, seems like a nice alternative to Ikea's? The real thing looks nicer than in the pix in tb. Lol... http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.10.45.Hu150v&id=14908521023&_u=dmenna6ab2c

The green ikea lamp above measures 25cm across. My dining table is 140cm, should I go for 2 or 3 of these lamps?
