  1. Wow! MK, you mean most of your renovation done already by next week? wahh......so fast? or only the part where you will be living?
  2. HI Anna, I told my contractor to hold on for the carpentry work as I will be going overseas for two weeks. I want them to do the carpentry once I am back, so there is going to be a bit of delay in my renovation. I am very particular about how my kitchen cabinet needs to look like...so not comfortable to let them built it when I am not around. . Other than that, couple of things to go but should be done pretty fast. I agree with your contractor that a concrete sink support is important ...and you can make it look good by hiding the concrete part. Thatch what I am intending to do , hopefully it turns out well. ;P
  3. Hi Swaskie, Don't ask your ID, ask the town council like I did . They told we can provided it is the same color or similar and not some funky color. ;p
  4. Hi Anna, Seems like you are having good progress in your renovation. Seems like you also did a concrete sink support. I think that is good , kinda removes the worry if there is leakage etc...;p Things seem to be moving pretty fast. Hope you see more! =)
  5. Here is one more to share . This is the kitchen as we imagined it to be ;p
  6. This is another drawing of the "special" modified wardrobe that included a section for our cat and its needs.
  7. These are some of our drawings we used to communicate to Alan and the respective sub contractors: TV wall craft stone : This was our initial plan but we bought more that needed so we ended up changing the plans, so we did full wall. ;p
  8. A minor update : The protective cover has been removed and polishing of the broken marble has started : Here is how it looks like now with the 1st of round of polishing :
  9. I would say go for the normal one. The pull out type got more mechanism and with very frequent usage it can spoil easily. If you need a pull out then get your plumber to add an additional soft spray next to your sink. I wanted to put a pull out too, but after talking to a few people I realized that the pull out tends to break easily. These are my opinions. Hope it helps. =)
  10. Hi Tim, You have not replied me yet. send you all the details you have requested but have not heard from you. Appreciate your reply. Thank You.
  11. Me too!! heh Using two flicker account as not enough space in one.... ;p
  12. Yup. Agree... the combination sure looks nice! Nice!
  13. Hi MK, You should ask if you can. My flat outside is also very very dirty and we asked if we can paint and they said can as long as same or nearly same color as it is now. Cannot be some funky color different from the rest of the flat. Hope this helps. =)
  14. Hi Blueeeie, Thank you for the lengthy explanation. Much appreciated. It seems there are 3 areas where it can break down but the one that I am very concerned about is the "Sweating" . If it goes through my 9 feet wardrobe and there is sweating , then it would impact my wardrobe. It would then be a very expensive affair. So I think in the interest of preventing future problems , for me it would be best not to run through the cabinets. But I totally understand why some people choose to do so. =) Again thank you for the clear and lengthy explanation. Much appreciated. Regards, Jaykr
  15. Hi MK, As far as I know it is grout cement, he used it for the red brick walls as we wanted something whitish red and for our brown and black bathroom tiles. =)
  16. I don't know if got blue grout but Ah Meng ( Alan's tiler) matched our red , brown and black grout lines . so you mind be able to find Blue...I think...;p Check with ypur tiler...;p
  17. HI, That is also my thinking. If you have any issues with your trunking in terms of condensation or leakage etc..... you might have a problem right? When I asked they told me that the aircon will run through the wardrobe and I immediately stopped and asked if there is a problem would I need to break my wardrobe and they said it won't happen lar....etc... but the answer is yes, you would have to break your wardrobe. So I asked to give me an alternative where I don't have to run through my wardrobe. I spent quite a bit on my wardrobe and it does not make sense to break it even if it in the distant future. ;p
  18. People would come up with just about any justification to get what they want.... heheheh

  24. Hi MK, Yup...yup...doing Full Blum solution not just runners for the entire kitchen including servo drive for the drawers. But you would be surprised and shocked if I told you the cost. It is way cheaper than most people spend on Blum and only for part of their Kitchen. I am getting all the parts necessary myself and pass it to the carpenter. The installation is free of charge. There is more to come. Hopefully the carpentry turns out the way I expect it to turn out. I am going for a project trip so most of the time will be busy working till like 7a.m - 8 p.m. But once the weekend comes then I would go shopping and see what I can buy. I was thinking of getting a Vornado too but not sure if it would be too bulky and not possible to carry it along with my other baggage. I gotta see what I can do there. Don't think so will buy bulky stuff maybe the small things so I can pack them all in my luggage. ;p
