A lot of it depends on the amount of carpentry you are going to do. If you engage an ID, a good one that is , it would probably cost more is my guess.

Based on what I see, it might cost you quite a bit to bit a hollow wall . ;p If I were to follow with my plan , I would need plaster ceiling as well as hollow wall bricks.....and the cost would probably go up again..... going up every single day...;P The only I can do that is if I cut somewhere and put it here or I increase mu budget which I seriously do not want too...;p But your picture looks great! sigh....wants vs needs....tsk...tsk...

Hi Mk, Yup, its broken marble the entire house except the kitchen. I am definitely keeping it. In the hot Singapore weather, it is nice to have a cooling flooring. I will be grinding and polishing the marble. me like.

I have tried their power Nasi Lemak in Woodlands before. Its nice but not the greatest! ;p but I like also. ;p

You got ask yourself ? 1) Are you concerned about cost? If so, meet the many ID's and see what is the range among the different ID's and why there is a difference? 2) What is the quality of materials you will be getting for your flooring, carpentary, counter - top etc.. etc... Are you hacking and rebuilding or just overlaying? What types of switches etc..etc... 3) Are they going to do the project management for you or you got it do it yourself? My experience and talking to a lot of people , even if you use a ID, you need to be there to look for things that you don't like. 4) Do you need a ID or can you use a contractor if cost is an issue? There are many articles written on what to look for in an ID etc... they would greatly help you. Hope this helps...take care.

Hi Bleucheeze, So not worried about scratches, dents, stains etc..?? I wanted to choose solid also but everything all over that it is very easy to scratch , stain etc... I decided not to use Solid Surface. Trying to figure out if there is anything better or I have no choice but to use Quartz. =) I heard there is no seams / grouts if your counter top is not very long for Quartz.

My humble opinion is, it depends if you are comfortable with the ID from the firm. Each Firm has many ID's so you want to make sure you get a good ID. Also, have you researched on these two ID's and found other people using them? What is their feedback like about these ID's? Why don't you find a few people in Renotalk who have used these ID's and msg them and ask and see how they are. You will be spending a big sum of money and you want to make sure they understand what you want and you are comfortable working with them. Once you sign the contract , you are stuck with them, so make sure you understand what you want and then go talk to them. Hope this helps.
