Sent you an email. Asking a quote for system 4 Mitsubishi Electric MXY-4A28VA / 3 X MSY-GE10VA / MSY-GE18VA 1 stainless steel tray removal of old system 1 unit. Clarification - will this set-up be ok with old HDB blks that says that the unit has this - Your block has not been provided with higher electrical loading. You will need to apply for an HDB permit to install new 15 Amps power points for air-conditioners or other higher capacity equipment/appliances

anyone has luck in getting the balcony levelled up? seems like laminate flooring is the only option.. sucks big time
-
what about leveling it up with concrete? that should work..

thanks for the inputs. I just swallowed up the $300 price difference for my 3 doors and went for the solid doors. I got kids who ride their bikes inside the house, probably hollow doors wont last long. LOL
-
Soundproofing sounds like a valid reason. any other benefits? does sound proofing justify the add-on cost?
-
I cant really decide so I'm curious how did you guys make your decision between Hollow Doors and Solid doors for the bedrooms. Price difference is a bit like $100+. Around $250 for hollow doors and $350 for solid doors in the bedrooms. Which one will you get?

Do marble tiles "pop"?? -
Hack Or Overlay Living Room Of 28 Yr Old Flat
Ricelo99 replied to tenjin's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
it's the color of the marble that I dislike. it's brownish and looks dirty. I understand repolish can only bring back the shine but never the brighten or lighten up the color.. (see picture below).. One ID told me that it is ok to directly overlay homogenous tiles directly over the marble flooring without hacking since marble tiles are very level and flat.. Anyone tried this? -

Hack Or Overlay Living Room Of 28 Yr Old Flat

follow-up question on the same topic. - What about the old flooring is made of Marble. will this be ok to directly overlay homogenous tiles without hacking the marble away? -
I would like to ask if any of you have tried this before: - estimated renovation quote (from one supplier only) at $60K. Is it possible to have 2 different banks renovation loans at $30K each? Or is there one bank that can give a renovation loan more than the $30K limit? (Assuming 6X the salary is $60K) What do you suggest?

Any of you here had installed grills and gates in the recess area? Do share how much is the cost. What I have now is the aluminum grills and sliding gate, all aluminum. I wanted to change it to the iron gates and grills. If you know a contractor that does those kind of job, please share contact details. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. So painting is not an option. Any idea of the cost for you to replace the windows? Thanks.
-
facing the same delima.. to hack or use laminate.. but budget is tight.. So how did you decide?
-
Anyone has tried or any contractor willing to quote painting the windows grill and frames from the traditional brown to white color? I heard its powder painting/coating or something. Please share how much is it if you have tried or have that service. THanks

Hello RT Forumers, I'm hoping to get your suggestions here and help me make a decision. My current flooring is made of Marble for a 5I HDB resale flat. Though the color scheme is not really what we liked, it has a shade of brown and irregularly patterned which made it look old or dirty. See actual picture below. I am trying to determine the costs/expenses for the following Options: I have attached the floor plan too to help in the size/area for cost computation. Option 1: - Hack the marble flooring for living (including leveled up balcony), dining, bedroom hallway and replace with Homogeneous tiles. - Overlay laminate for the 3 bedrooms - What is the estimated cost? Option 2: - No hacking and just overlay laminate flooring for the entire house (excluding kitchen) - What is the estimated cost? Option 3: - The marble pattern is "normal". Keep it and just buff, shine, clean it. - Whats the cost for cleaning? Hope you guys can provide your opinions and feedback to make a practical and cost effective decision. Thanks.
