  1. i think resale prices will only go up many home owners will want their home to be the way they want it to have all these built-ins means everyone's home is the same i've known people who tear down everything and renovate to their taste so not many will pay for these built-ins if i were to get a place, i wouldn't want to pay for these things that i'm going to tear down anyway built-ins are taken into consideration for the valuation so i'd rather get a flat that's in original condition
  2. check out this link http://www.rinaelectrical.com.sg/product_t...esc.asp?pId=498 you might want to send them an enquiry
  3. check out this link for sakae_sushi's glass room http://www.flickr.com/photos/22619825@N07/ don't think there's anything to worry about afterall, we don't see any of our glass buildings collapsing right?
  4. hehehe, just realised i've seen rumi's list just that i sorted according to what i wanted i.e. >300l that's why ended up with the following brands only 1. miele 2. F&P 3. gaggenau 4. Liebherr 5. Blomberg i'm looking for something for fruits and vegetable and maybe the occasional drinks should have gone for it when F&P was having their warehouse sale it was going at $999, but even more expensive at shops now :bangwall:
  5. well, my contractor charged me $100psf cheaper than some brands of solid surface and more expensive than others hmm, think i got to go take a pix of my countertop i didn't do any maintenance at all, just wipe when i feel like i very lazy lah think the initial sealing is very important, seal well and you don't have to worry
  6. you can choose the lights if you want you can choose 4 x 32w which will give you 128w should be bright enough liao? me using a single 32w, more than enough for me but then again, i only go to my bedroom when i sleep
  7. maybe switch on liao will look different? i always find lights provide a very different feel to the room not so much the light itself, but the glow it gives to the surrounding
  8. thanks yoongf for the advise and rumi for the detailed list  guess now i got to start calling GAB etc to check the price
  9. oh dear so sorry to hear that i HATE virus!!!!
  10. all electrical appliances will consume more electricity when they age the older the system, the more electricity it'll consume so the better choice will be to change the system
  11. firstly, i'm using granite countertop at home coz i read about scratches and heat problems with solid top cons of solid top 1. cannot put very hot pots on it 2. cannot cut things on it 3. cannot drag things across it unfortunately, these are things i'm fond of doing so solid top is not for me as for glass top, get the sales person to drop a SHARP object on it things like knife point / scissors end, see whether they dare to do it or not glass don't shatter on impact , but more of impact when the glass is already compromised i.e. kenna hit by sharp object before the tv dramatise the whole glass shattering experience liao i've tried to put my fist through a glass window - failed with swollen knuckles
  12. do you have lights under your top cabinet? it might make the kitchen look brighter
  13. check out the t-blog of a fellow renotalker, think it's sakae (with or without the sushi ) he did two glass walls for his daughter's room however, do bear in mind that anything more than 8ft may not fit into the lift so your ID/contractor might charge more to have someone carry the piece of glass up (charge per floor) as for the flooring, it can be done with damaging the floor the concern is more of the void i.e. where the wall used to stand some use mosaic strips to cover the void while others just replace the tiles/parquet flooring for the affected area
  14. that's great more countertop space, and convenience too really can't wait for your place to be done up then might get to see the beautiful cats
  15. hi everyone, in your search for the perfect fridge anyone came across a pure refridgerator? i.e. no freezer saw a few but they are all four digit sum looking for something that'll cost a few hundred only
  16. oh yours is cluster house, then quotes will be different i don't know why but it seems that contractors/ID charge differently comparing public and private housing maybe you want to check with mafiawife, it seems her contractor is very nice
  17. i have based for kitchen cabinets but no base for washer or fridge 1. i don't want to be restricted by the size of the base when i change appliances 2. i will not be washing the kitchen floor often, and there are the legs on the fridge that can be adjusted so that the fridge is further away from the kitchen floor 3. i don't want to pay for something i don't want/need
  18. how about taking a full front picture of your tv area maybe we can have a better idea of how it looks like from the pix you have, i thought maybe you can get a country shelf and mount it right under your tv then all the dvd players and stuff can put on the shelf less wire liao
  19. very nice decals is it white or does it has a light tinge of pink?
  20. the heat won't spoil the PC meh
  21. looking at the pix, the basin looks too thick for the water to fall nicely into it unlikely the 1st solution will do any good but your ID very nice, at least he offer to rectify the issue
  22. eh copper is actually more expensive and citygas mandates that only copper pipes be used for gas pipes copper is easier to bend, so less likelihood of leakage and no, copper doesn't leak into the water. just paint over the copper pipes can liao, if you don't like the colour
  23. got pix? me want to :dribble: leh
  24. no need to paiseh lah you not shen suan zi lor, how would you know i've got a lot of electrical appliances in the kitchen as it is, the first track is already full that's why need a second track :jawdrop:
