honestly, you and only yourself can decide if you are comfortable with KKH doesn't mean private = good it all depend on your luck and your obstrician... one more thing to take into consideration if there's any complications or your baby got any problem then going back to KKH when the delivery was done in private hospital would mean that you will be charged as a private patient, no subsidy at all that is very expensive. i mean touch wood lah, of course we hope nothing will happen but this is a consideration too

if you dun sign up you will just not get anything think deadline for receiving on 1st jul is 15 jun but you have all the time until the last payment loh, just miss out on the first three nia

maybe i'm rather sceptical about this whole 'hdb licenced' thing coz hdb will not do anything if the home owner runs into problems with the contractors registered with ACRA for one year with unblemished records meaning? think it's just filing accounts on time etc rather than complaints received against them relating to renovation the $30k paid up is also not a guarantee coz it's always expensive to try and get the money back look at the problems renovictim is going through being hdb licenced does not help a bit for me, as long as the contractor is reputable, price reasonable and work is of a certain level, i dun mind if the contractor is licenced or not

the dog in the pix quite handsome leh, and not really big lah hopefully they will not be too traumatised by the noise and sudden influx of human traffic for me i dun believe in trends coz i'm gonna stay there for the next 10 years at least so must find something i'm comfortable with 'in' or not, i dun care

actually hor, a lot of chinese i know are neither buddhist nor taoist buddhism believes in not killing and such taoist does not pray to idols so most of us who pray to tua pek kong are not taoist and btw, those praying to goddess of mercy are buddhist coz 'she' is believed to be an incarnation of one of the buddhas

actually hor, i find that private and restructured hospital about the same bah unless you have your own gynae / obstrician you want to use during delivery pregnant woman scream during delivery what can the nurse/doc do? give injection? give panadol? no mah, so private and restructured is the same loh these are all my personal opinion nia coz me no have children

hi, if you are getting contractors / ID then bo bian but if u are able to get just labour to lay tiles think hup kiong offer very good discounts for porcelain tiles for mine, the display price is $3.2psf but managed to bargain down to $2.3psf but if you are getting it as a package then can't liao coz the discount will go to the ID/contractor actually hup kiong, LSH, NH and hafary are dealers/distributors for tiles my porcelain tiles are of venezia brand, not sure good or not but the tiles are okay for my batch i.e. even colour, no unevenness on tile surface

he is trying to con me coz he see always me alone dealing with him during this period i learnt a very important lesson i MUST drag my bf along for every discussion coz all the contractors/ID dun take me seriously when i'm alone even that day the window contractor come down to quote for the grilles, i was the one discussion with him so the price he quote was quite high. until my bf spoke up then he brought down the price this hdb contractor also the same loh, always asking for additional top up when the first price of $400 should have included everything

he is not my own contractor he is under hdb to do rectifications to my flat now he is trying to be funny coz he keep asking for money top up for this and top up for that i'm quite fed up with him liao will be calling him later to see what he is doing

for me i'm a firm believer in energy even if it's 10% energy and 90% hardwork i'd prefer to have this 10% working for me than against me whatever i can get on my side is better...

how big is your unit? some charge depending on the size of the unit and others charge based on how much other work is done contractors/ID gives discounts on some items but overcharge for others i was charged this price for my EA for either copper of S/S my contractor's advice is copper is better but s/s looks better

actually the reason why some contractors choose to remain unlicenced is bcoz of the licence fee that they need to pay hdb so they choose not to be licenced these usually concentrate on private properties so you can't say that they are not good simply bcoz they dun have hdb licence if they are good enough to do private properties and take up condo projects also, about the part of us being lessees the most glaring difference is that hdb can take back the flat simply bcoz we violate the 'rules' but private property cannot also, if you buy a private property, as long as you are not touching the structural beams, you are free to do anything to the unit but for hdb flats, the hacking of a wall requires permit, even though it does not affect the structure at all it's not so much down-playing our rights or what it's just that hdb flats are just like government-flats in other countries, but packaged in a much nicer way
