  1. yes yes i know i ever kenna stopped at the japan custom coz i was pushing all the luggages for the four of us so they thought i was there to 'work' guess i feel very strongly about other countries speaking bad about singapore esp when the accusations are baseless my bf has been trying means and ways to get me go australia coz he went there a few times and had a really nice time but guess there are enough asian countries for me to explore still
  2. yes yes remember the female candidate for queensland? pauline something she is the one who said - asians go home
  3. can share with you what ho bee quote me 1. total 16.5ft kitchen cabinet with blumotion drawer runners and hinges, c/w 6ft granite countertop 2. painting whole unit and patch up groove lines 3. install windows for balcony and yard 4. install all lights, extend two light points, install blinds, extend two extra scv pt 5. install exhaust fan, toilet & kitchen accessories, undermount sink with 4.5ft concrete support, install sink inlet/outlet, install shower sets 6. haulage, removal and 2 x chemical wash all these less than $8.5k one thing about your quotation is you didn't mention how much carpentry works you are doing. if your reno 3 rooms means all roomes have - built-in wardrobe, platform beds and maybe feature wall, then $13k is reasonable in my opinion...
  4. mine mine mine it's bitter gourd with ribs in fermented soy bean (si zap pai kuat in cantonese) ingredients (for 4) 2 bitter gourd 500 grams of ribs fermented soy bean (black colour in dry form, available at markets and supermarkets) garlic seasoning dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil to taste steps 1. mix ribs and seasoning together well, leave aside for at least 30min, but two hours is ideal 2. cut the bitter gourd into bite-size (slice or pieces up to you) 3. boil a pot of water, add salt and the bitter gourd (dun have to do this if you like it real bitter) 4. drain and keep aside (if you want to get rid of all the bitter taste, drain only when the gourd turns yellow) 5. heat up wok and add oil 6. fry the fermented beans and garlic until fragrant (you can add chili if you like a little bite) 7. add rib and fry with high heat 8. when the surface of the ribs is cooked, add bitter gourd 9. leave to simmer on low heat for about 10 - 15min 10. best served with white rice same as homeowner's recipe, add corn flour to thicken
  5. i'm sorry if i offend anyone with what i've said... coz i've know some friends who were offered a chance to work there as law enforcers however, it is a well-known fact that there are place where police officers dare not enter coz it's like a go-in-straight, come-out-lying place also, friends who have studied there witness robberies in broad day light along busy streets with only the victim chasing the robber but NO ONE lent a helping hand. another reason why i dislike australia is because of the politicians can you imagine their PM ever said this - 'we are having illegal immigrant problems because singapore failed to stop them from coming.' i mean if their PM is like his, i can't imagine the normal man walking the streets i didn't hear this somewhere, i read it from the new paper
  6. same same. either i find those no need to iron ones or those looks nice crumpled ones i got one dress that looks nice when crumple, one day i crazy and go iron the dress then wear to work. my colleagues all shocked coz they thought the dress is the kind supposed to be crumpled one
  7. my bf like to eat this dish - bitter gourd and ribs in fermented soy bean sauce (si zap pai kuat in cantonese). if you are interested i can send you the recipe. actually if you go to the wet market and ask the hawkers they will teach you how to cook the dish you want can only make chinese dishes, can't really make peranakan or western food though my bf is half peranakan something else i do for my bf, i will knit for him though i can't do it well i'll knit him a muffler or cap when i see a yarn colour that he'll like sometimes i'll surprise him by cooking him pineapple water too
  8. no problem, this is a chat t-blog mah we had a discussion on washing machine earlier as well think it's good if you get hold of the model number of the items you are interested in then call up a few shops to compare prices some shops tend to sell some brands cheaper than others
  9. wah, then no need to even consider them liao loh my contractor is charging $60 to install heater but dun have the other two coz i'm not changing shelving depends a lot on the material used loh ply or solid, stainless steel or normal metal bracket, weight-support all play a part in the price...
  10. got pix, then maybe we can give you suggestions
  11. maybe you want to consider getting lilies lasting, fragrant and beautiful
  12. ummm, personal experience with contractors and ID is that they will charge certain items at lower-tan-market rate and certain items higher. think the bottom line is more important, i.e. for all the works done how much does it cost...
  13. you referring to PVC or tile material? my kitchen wall tiles have something like mosaic over the edge coz normal tile cannot be bent to fit that area...
  14. actually WMF is know for the stainless steel used for it's products and the well-known german precision technology. what attracted me to the AK series is the simplicity yet functional arrangement. saves me the hassle and need for a big working area at the sink. everything just goes onto the wall oh forgot to add - the beauty of the product
  15. ohhh that's another consideration but i find using normal iron tiring already if steam iron more tiring then i still won't iron my clothes same old same old
  16. it's a mixer right? $59 consider quite low already lah my simply sink mixer also cost me $130
  17. the guy at robinsons was saying the ss16 is good enough even boutiques also using it to steam clothes so i guess it's good enough for me but no price discount leh... maybe we should wait for tangs sale to come around again wah MaCe you seem to have a lot of good lobangs leh $25 sink already so nice, and the tap is very unique too bad i got no budget to touch the two baths at this moment
  18. actually i'm not married and won't consider doing so in the near future but i guess i can contribute coz i also have loved one ma for me, i dun believe in buying things most of the time coz what i can afford, my bf can well afford it too how i show my affection is by cooking for him. sometime we go out for a meal and he finds a certain dish very nice, i'll go to the market and ask around for the recipe so that i can cook it for him next time. but he will have to be my guinea pig for a few times before what i cook can be considered of standard... another thing i'll do is ask him at the end of the day 'how was your day?' and really listen to him. i will not offer my opinion or advice or whatever, just sit there listening to him quietly. he usually feel much better after such venting sessions. that's all i can think of now. will contribute again when i can think of anything
  19. i went down to robinsons centrepoint just now, the guy say no price discount but they give 3 years warranty, worth $60 according to him. you very bad leh. intro me to this then i see liao also thinking of getting one coz can just hang my dresses there and steam then i dun have to wear crumpled clothes anymore
  20. was at robinsons centrepoint the salesman say although no discount, they give additional 3 years warranty which is worth $60 what is the difference between the princess one and the novita one? me saw the novita one so tempting coz can just hang the clothes there and steam
  21. the chinese seventh month starts on 13 Aug but actually it's okay to move during that period. the seventh month is originally a time for pple to show filial piety (dun know how to spell), it's the story about how a son broke into h.ell to rescue his mother and in the process free all the ghost in h.ell. only thing is the yin qi is stronger in the seventh month so if you have weak or elderly family member, better not move. for painting, can consider getting the nippon paint service where they come down to your place and do a 'visual' on how the paint will make the place look using a software. check out more details here
  22. hi, was looking through your t-blog again just now just can't get enough of the nice nice pix then i realised that the upper beam between the living and balcony seems to not be there can remove meh? if can i am so going to KILL the hdb tile contractor
  23. am going down to robinsons later to 'pre-order' my WMF AK items maybe i can look out for you as well must encourage spending then the singapore economy will grow
  24. ummm, both female ah heard that females cannot be together leh else will fight to death not so sure about it only know males can put together, even male and female must be separated after mating... started with one male one female, then the male killed the female so got two females, thought two against one safer then the male gang up with one female to kill the other female after that got two males and they lived together happily ever after
  25. it's a design of the wink decal you can see it from here
