  1. hihi, the water pressure from the rainshower head like not very strong hor? getting the gas heater so that there's enough pressure !! btw, how much did you pay for the whole thing i.e. rainshower head, the 'stick' and the mixer? tia
  2. thanks for the info but i bought the AK system so will be having my dishes above the sink instead !!
  3. hehe thanks zirkh reply to your question - actually nothing except that these are things that are not done by my contractors basically i will be getting a contractor to just install lights, paint and do kitchen cabinets so need to find out if air-con trunking and gas heater installation to be arranged in which stage loh. so now i will call the air-con pple to come down and install the trunking first, then ask my contractor to start work right? after the kitchen cabinets are about to be up then call the citygas pple to come down and install both the gas heater and the gas point for the stove, correct or not?
  4. wah renotalk just down two weeks and both of you are shifting in liao only left me to struggle with the HDB TO !! just came back from my nest today so angry and upset yesterday she told me the tile contractor did something so the ponding problem resolved liao. but today i go splash water still the same loh. can see the centre four tiles high above the rest but at least the scv points, door knobs has been changed. when oh when can i start my own reno???
  5. yes just go to those sundry shops in wet market actually if you go to those old estate ones, they will even teach you how to make the dish !! that's how i learn some dishes
  6. the red and blue tapes indicates the piping in the wall red for hot water and blue for cold water pipes so envious of the new flat owners, got concealed piping and even shower head installed. !! i also want
  7. awwww i'm so envious !! both of you moving in today and i'm just back from another frustrating trip from my nest yes yes, count me in for the aussino 40% too
  8. i'm getting air-con from b3stt3ch and gas heater from citygas. do i get b3stt3ch to install the trunking and citygas to install the heater before my own contractor start work? or should i wait for my contractor to start painting first then do the installation? please help !! thanks
  9. so how is everything coming along? this renotalk-forum-down thing is really messing up with our chat sessions huh? it's this kind of situation that makes me wish i had asked for your msn addy so that we can still continue chatting !! well i'm glad it's back up and you can continue to update us with your latest purchases or you going to move-in soon like bluberi also
  10. wow sumobear your home really is !! i really admire your courage and grit to pull through all the problems and end up with a really really nice home anyone would be proud to own really love the fabric and the mood the lights provide
  11. actually it's the area next to the sink with the groove lines should be part of the sink !! it's for you to prepare food or leave washed utensils to drip dry my current home's sink has it on both sides so thought want to have it for my new place but guess my budget doesn't allow it
  12. i love the peranakan style salted duck soup aka itek tim ingredients half a duck some salted veg (usually i use one whole veg from the wet market) some assam skin (just a few pieces, depending on how you like it) a few sour plums (those in a glass bottle one, add about two. more if you like it real sour) a few slices of ginger a few tomatoes, quartered (again, depending on if you like this fruit or not) sorry everyone, my recipe not very well written coz i cook based on feelings so sometimes i feel like more sour will add more of some ingredients, other times less !! preparation 1. skin the duck, cut into pieces and wash. leave to drain 2. boil water, dump duck into boiling water 3. sieve out the bubbles 4. add salted veg 5. add rest of ingredients (optional) 6. add a dash (up to a ladle full) of cooking wine (i like cordon bleu) that's my take on salted duck soup
  13. hello everybody sure am glad that renotalk is back up again wow, bluberi you shifting into your nest liao ah so envious leh me dun know when then can start my own renovation... me also heard about the price increase whew thank goodness we bought when we bought our unit the unit one floor below mine, which i was eyeing initially the price increase is $19k think my unit price increase also around there loh more than enough to cover my furniture purchases liao wow MaCe you really fast leh think you are amongst the first to know renotalk back up liao and yes me tu liang ta, both measurement and stomach kekeke !! and everybody i am so so so glad that renotalk is back up coz i've been suffering from 'withdrawal'
  14. me where got time to cook everyday now got to work very hard coz spent so much on the flat can only 'admire' my AK when i reach home at night guess to console ourselves can use these methods: 1. like i've mentioned earlier, divide and divide so daily cost not so high 2. we paid like 300 grand for the flat, 10% - 20% renovation cost is actually quite standard 3. we are going to stay in the flat for at least 5 years, better to spend money now than spend time later coz this didn't do that didn't buy right? me not even going to get the storage system will use those plastic storage boxes and stack them high wait till got money then buy and DIY actually $4k for the number of items you buy not high at all loh most important is the 'throne' must be comfortable if not will get constipated
  15. dun think it'll console you much paid $509 after all the discounts but then again, these things will be fixed above the sink and used only when i cook so that's pretty expensive compared to the sanitary fixtures which you will use everyday. me not changing anything in the bathroom but my toilet accessories also going to cost me $1.2k liao leh so yours in considered pretty okay le
  16. Hi Mr Chong, have came up with this layout for my new place please help to see if there are anything that are in no-good positions? thank you so much MBR is occupied by F/1938 and M/1941 BR3 is occupied by F/1975
  17. yes yes totally agree these things are going to last you for years and if you take the cost of the item, divide it by 365days and no. of years your cost per day is really negligible that's what i used to convince myself about the AK anyway
  18. guess i'm rather particular about my own privacy i'll not let him pick up my phone and i'll not pick up his phone to me when my mobile rings it's definitely looking for me so the caller can always call back if i didn't pick up. ditto for work phone... as for friends, guess i've learnt from my past experience introduced all my close friends to my ex-fiance when we broke up, he invented a sob story and caused all my friends to stand on his side so i not only lost the relationship, i lost all my friend too this taught me to have separate lives from my bf
  19. actually i have nothing to hide from my bf but i find that each of us are entitled to our own 'secrets' just like i dun know all his friends and neither does he know all mine it's about giving each other space and to show trust if i trust him there is no need for me to go through his mobile and vice versa we have each others passwords for everything - from email to atm cards to singpass it's just we respect each others privacy guess that's one of the reason why we are not married coz we want our own privacy
  20. bf can or not, not married so no spouse leh but other than the cert, he can be considered my spouse liao back to the topic... you mean let him go through my call list and messages? NO WAY! i'd kill him if he dares to
