  1. pei fu pei fu me going to try refurbishing my teak furnitures later in this week think i'll be almost as tired as you liao
  2. so have you saved up to bring your furry home? why not consider adopting one? hmm, guess it's not feasible liao but it's really good loh, no need to have stand fan taking up precious space oh dear that's so traumatising :~ that's why i installed grilles to prevent them from even sticking their head out, too dangerous  and i dun think i can take it one more time to lose any of my furry babies due to unnatural causes last time i lost my boy i couldn't eat or drink or sleep for 4 whole days just sat there and keep replaying the scene of the last time i spoke to him my three babies now are basically fighting for territory and attention hope the territory-fights will end when we shift
  3. i'm all for battery operated coz 1. no need extension of wire to socket 2. no need to take up one socket 3. battery can last quite long only thing is not many uses battery and even less has the battery on top, most are hidden below so leceh to change. mine is on top coz using turbo
  4. just search for string curtains think there are sprees in SGB or yahoo auction sites 3m x 3m at less than $100 if you go to robinsons think 1m x 3m already $100
  5. woo hoo that's a lot of work done in the short space of two days
  6. your home is coming up real nice good to hear that the colours are what you expected and the grohe shower head is a good buy makes me gian also
  7. awww your furry babies are beautiful and they manage to live peacefully together but such a pity about missy, you must miss her a lot
  8. i agree this book gives some in-depth views on how man and woman behave differently in the same situation. but the problem with all books are they generalise i.e. makes everyone's problem the same which is far from the reality... i believe cornetto had did everything within her power i.e. talk to him, send him sms, write to him etc. in fact, her hubby's reaction was - the world doesn't revolve around you cornetto, sometimes, it's good to hold on coz good things come at the end but sometimes, it's silly to hold on just for holding on sake you need to know when to let go and give yourself a chance at life remember, it's not about changing him. it's about whether you can accept this behaviour - it's for life. reminds me of a 'joke' man marries a woman not expecting her to change, but she did woman marries a man expecting him to change, but he didn't
  9. did you sign a contract with the contractor? if yes then you only need to pay what is specified on the contract he didn't measure correctly is his problem loh, why should you be paying for his mistake? if you didn't sign any contract then the problem might be a little more tricky. you can play nasty and just refuse to pay him since there's no black and white. or you can be nice and pay him coz afterall the solid surface is sitting in your kitchen right now end of the day, are you satisfied with the work done? if yes, then i think the contractor should be duly rewarded one more point to add, would you have forgo the solid surface if you know about the actual price? that should give you the answer
  10. oh dear that doesn't sound too good seems like the hinge is weakened and cannot take the weight of the window you may need to change the window and better do it fast if not the window fall down might injure someone
  11. no the problem is actually he didnt try at all if effort made i'm sure she'll appreciate it and keep the marriage alive like cornetto's case, he didn't try at all
  12. blue-black still not so bad lah as long as no need go hospital can liao who ask you to jump around at home? me now just worried about my furry babies sure climb onto the dining table and play with the pull string one bluberi, this curtain suitable for your living room? http://sg.auctions.yahoo.com/sg/i::249478749

  14. seriously it's totally worth it but can have it at my place coz dun fit in my 'theme' and my parents like conventional style you must have given a lot of thoughts to come up with the landscape now i see liao but my balcony bad sector FS guy say no water no living things wow i see your door also :good: leh your place is really turning out very very nice envious
  15. no lah, once bitten twice shy only brave people will try again
  16. guess the key word here is try and i have a friend whose ex-husband who said that to - and meant it not surprising that they are divorced now and i can say my friend's life are just getting better and better
  17. but hor, you dun have the keys of the unit yet if finalise the layout now might entail a lot of shifting of points and pipes that's additional cost to avoid. maybe you want to see where the inlet/outlet are before deciding where to put what hdb do things very funny one take my kitchen for example, the best place for the stove has two sockets on the wall so had to plan very carefully to ensure the stove sits in between them if not got to shift the sockets = extra cost
  18. wow the dining platform is really something  must have cost you quite a bit?
  19. or we pay her 50% of shipping charges we would have incurred to bring the product in if not drink too much coffee puke lagi worse
  20. hmm, if it's only of the cleaning dun think it should pose much of a problem coz long long time clean once mah, so can live with the inconvenience bah i would love to have my sink at the window but stupid hdb design dun allow so make do with turning my head to look out the window while doing dishes btw, the windows look out to where? if it's another unit's kitchen then no point liao
  21. oh think i saw this in the FS forum right? so the window is for hanging clothes out isit? if not can consider putting the sink there coz can look out while doing the dishes or preparing meals
  22. jiap water pipe restricts the fridge to one place not to mention the unsightly pipes but my kitchen so small dun have space for such a big fridge xlan, you measure your kitchen liao? wait you beo beo beo got no space for it very ai wan one leh have you gotten an appt to collect keys yet?
  23. yes yes totally agree in return we'll buy her all the coffee she can drink
  24. actually if you are not a regular cook who does lots of frying, you dun really need a hood that shaves $1k from the cost liao  it's my dream to have an island too but space doesn't allow
  25. mit starmex non-inverter including installation should cost not more than $2k think one of the forummers here got it at $1.7k all in
