Hi Shopping Gurus, any recommended online shopping websites (besides TB, Amazon, Qoo10 etc.) that you can recommend to buy bedsheets, quilt covers, pillow cases, etc.? A bit hesitant to shop @ Amazon due to different mattress sizes between US and Singapore? Pai seh ... actually prefer to buy online (unless bo bian) than go physical store front. TIA! -

Hi Amazon Gurus, anyone good in physics? Just want to clarify on something. Simple scenario: If I use a 100W transformer to run a 50W Vornado fan (for e.g.), is the electricity consumption = 1. 50W only (assuming same amount of electricty power runs throughout from transformer to fan to run the appliance) 2. 50W (from transformer) + 50W (from fan) = 100W 3. 100W (from transformer) + 50W (from fan) = 150W? Thanks! -

Hi Valerene, just for my learning info (in case same thing happen to me), may I know the delivery channel or company that Amazon uses for your shipment? Currently, I only know got DHL, UPS and iParel?? So far, I gana one shipment by DHL and three shipments by iParcel (which is via SingPost) from Amazon. One good thing for iParcel (which I like though much slower) is that three times I am not at home and they left it @ my nearest Post Office for me to collect on the next day. I do not like personal parcels to be shipped to the office as you know ... there are always some "kaypoh" colleagues around asking you this and that ... Haha! -

Thanks Mad4bags for the comments. Yes, I read that Borax is also said to be an "ant repellent". So based on what you did, no problem in bringing the controlled item into Singapore (need license to purchase) ... Cheers! -

Hi Kim, Have you ordered or tried to bring in Borax (controlled item here in Singapore) from Amazon before? I read and researched in the internet that Borax is an effective stain remover (for laundry and tiles)? But direct shipping from Amazon US to Singapore is super crazily expensive! Need to go through 3rd party. Thanks & have a nice weekend. -

Hi Amazon Gurus, would like to check with you bros and sis if Amazon ships the free shipping stuff (> US$125) via iParcel? That is, only "heng heng" cases, they ship or upgrade via DHL or UPS? Thanks in advance! -

Hi Amazon Gurus, some of the popular brand names that I learned from this thread (otherwise would not have known - hehe). I have entered following in my iPhone Notes: 1. Grohe (accessories) 2. OXO (accessories) 3. Simplehuman (accessories) 4. Honeywell (air purifiers) 5. Vornado (air circulators) 6. ... Mmm...anything else that I missed out? Haha. Of course, there are many many things that one can buy by searching key words in Amazon. But the above comes in handy when it comes to home improvement or even home entertainment (e.g. Bose - eyeing the sports earphone). Cheers! -

Hi Kim, your Vornado is 7XX series right? Runs @ about 85W? If not mistaken, you posted your purchase in Xtremeplace b4 right? So 100W transformer (buffer) for 85W appliance is OK? Thx for confirming. -

Hi Ong, check with you - when you said "with free shipping to SG now", how do you actually do it? Is there any "trick" to do free shipping to SG for this item? I intend to buy the 630B Vornado fan but when I checked out, there is shipping charge to SG. Think this item does not qualify for Amazon GlobalSaver, even if I played with or increase the quantity to be 2 (> USD 125). Thanks bro! -
Can't help but notice the headphone hanging on your PC monitor. Is that B&W P5? My wish list to-buy item in Amazon.

Thanks for the lobang, bro! You did not wait for the launch of the new Mac Pro (mid 2013)?

Same here. Makes me very "gian" leh. Due to recent hot weather and haze issue (can feel burning smell "invades" the house as I don't use AC esp. at night), seriously considering buying the 630B model ... quite high ranking in "Amazon Best Sellers Rank". -
Hi Bros and Sis, I am doing a small craftstone/craftbrick feature wall diy style. Anyone knows where can I buy an appropriate brick tile cutting tool (handheld or power)? I bought the tungsten carbide tile cutter (pen type) from hardware store but it fails to cut the craftbrick (too thick I think). If anyone has any suggestions (based on your experience or what your contractor uses), would be deeply appreciated. Not sure if the power type is expensive or not ... Thanks in advance!

Am I correct to say that this Free AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping link/platform is a small subet of the whole Amazon store? I searched for my wish list items in AmazonGlobal but none can be found. How nice if ALL items in Amazon qualifies for free shipping (of course with order meeting a certain amount $$$). Hehe. -

Many thanks Kim for the review and volume info. Yes, most likely will also be buying the 真皮 one. Understand Amcon is still the cheapest forwarder. Cheers! -

Ooops ... I actually bought the same "cheong version of the famous Swiss Railway clock" from TB upon dragonnite's recommendation (last 1-2 months ago I think). Shows how this forum/thread can be very poisoning. Now waiting for my living room clock to spoil, then can buy the real swiss railway clock from Amazon ... but it is quite expensive. Btw, is Mondaine the original swiss railway clock manufacturer? Thx! -

Hi Kim, Your Eames lounge chair from TB is 进口真皮 or 真皮? Also, Lush's quality better in terms of? More comfortable? TIA! -
Hi beejeebee, thanks so much for sharing how to make purchases in Taobao via Amcon. It is very clear with pictorial illustrations and screenshots. I have one query however. Understand we can use international credit cards (e.g. VISA, Mastercard) to make purchases in Taobao while stating Amcon's warehouse as domestic delivery address. But next step - how do you pay Amcon to ship items from China GZ warehouse to Singapore? e.g. international credit card (VISA, Mastercard), DBS bank transfer etc.? Have you tried purchase procedure before? Still deciding which to use to ship bulky item (< 1 cubic m) - Peeka, Daigou, Hoyoyo, Amcon. Thanks in advance!

Hi artblakey, Can you still remember which branch of HomeFix did you buy the Zinsser Perma-White® (Interior) from? Or has it been some years back already? I am interested to get this special paint product. I callled HomeFix HarborFront branch yesterday but the person who took my call did not seem to know what I was asking. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Kim bro! Will try the hoyoyo route. One thing I am not so clear that I learned from here: Big bulky item -> Better to go via Amcon? Smaller item -> Go via 65daigou route? Is that correct? Any idea about weight limit? How small is small? I am sure Amcon will not entertain "small" items (surely ask me go home fly kite). Haha!! Thanks in advance! Cheers!

For me, first step I already find that it is sometimes difficult to nagivate TB website. Just cannot seem to find the item(s) via link(s) shared by bros/sis here (i.e. actually navigate to search TB, TMall, Baobei, top charts -> pai hang bang etc.) . Quite confusing whether to shop in TB front page (shouye) or TMall (tianmao)? Any diff? Guess need to search via Chinese words? So need to translate item from English to Chinese first (Google translate) and then search? Once cross the first hurdle, then is the shipping logistics hurdle. After reading the TB shopping threads, so so tempting. Haha. Cheers!
