  2. really? only 3 TV pts... and 70% rewiring. of course with bargaining
  3. Hi Welcomehome, Okie, will scan and give u the breakdown of cost. Not much variation order, except that i backside itchy, thinking of making a frosted glass door cabinet shell. They will cost me an additional $1.6k, as quoted by Seng Kwong. Also thinking of changing main door for another $400+. Other misc cost will be laying carpet for staircase $650... got 2 small ones jumping around everyday so boh bian. Another $2.6k for Daikin S4 aircon.
  4. Hi J&J, Welcome to this forum I just did my 2.5 toilets , hack kitchen wall, put up a glass panel to replace, replace living room flooring w homogeneous tiles, lay bedrooms upstairs with laminate and custom make tv console for $28k. Electrical wiring is another $1.8k.
  5. Big bird, yr house looks nice and cosy. How much did the sliding door wardrobe cost? i am thinking of installing one for my MBR. Homeowner, I remember that u mentioned that Seng kwong did the cabinets for your rooms. How's the workmanship? I am thinking of using them cos i think they r cheaper than Alumix. I want to make one with only the outer frame and frosted glass doors.
  6. jackbotak, that's quite reasonable, considering that parquet is more sturdy than laminate.
  7. ya parquet flooring for staircase is expensive. Cheaper alternative will be laminate. I checked out the price recently. Ard $80 per step. So total of $1.2-1.3k. In the end, i opted for overlaying of carpet over the staircase for only $650. I'll prob redo the tiles only when my kids r older. Me! I overlay the toilet tiles. BUT u have to make sure that your original tiles are not hollow. If not, soon, all the tiles will start to pop out. Get your contractor to survey for u.
  8. Yes sister, I am a catholic too. Wh church u attend? U've got a v interesting feature wall! My kitchen will be red and silver instead of all red..hee hee
  9. Okie... some more pics .... sorries i still dont really know how to upload photos... decided to add the pics to my blog instead. http://www.ourbishanhome.blogspot.com/
  10. hi hello888 kindly update your signature ...sorry for delay 151 m2 status renovating cheers
  11. Hello, u got a nice toilet. My toilet is still half done. I also have black and white for my common toilet upstairs. The reno guys r going to do up the piping and fittings today. Got some before and mid reno pics ...BUT how to upload??? Some advice needed: My electician quoted me $2100 to change like 70% of the wiring. Is it reasonable??? Seems like v expensive leh
  12. 9k+9k+12k+12K (9+12 for level 1, 9 for children room, 12 for MBR).
  13. Hi Blossom, I bought the Daikin S4 (non invertor)... was told this is one of the few models of S4 wh i could install bec of the current restriction Just installed the piping yesterday - 2 sets downstairs and 2 upstairs... amazing when i see them install... gotta even hack thru the awning to get the level 1. Welcome EM Lover.... Ur reno plan was the same as mine..... except that i changed the flooring. When u starting reno? Welcome arknuss!
  14. Nice tiles! I also saw it at hafary. was quite expensive if i recall correctly. In the end i selected the black and white flower tiles instead. why do u have to hack down the wall? $900 is quite ex! Is this a special wall? my contractor quoted me $200 to hack off the kitchen wall but in the end gave that to me FOC. Why this huge difference in cost?
  15. Ya loh... living room extended to the balcony. And my kitchen is extremely small. Looks like i gotta make sure of the common staircase landing to hang my laundry Like that also can ah?
  16. wow! i think ur house is almost in move in condition. $27k COV is quite good bargain. V bright and nice. I paid $23k but i literally gotta tear down the whole house cos it looks dark and run down.
  17. btw, i just noticed my EM got no holes outside for hanging the bamboo poles oh dear.... and i dont have a balcony to hang the clothes too. anyone has same issue as me? hmmmm....
  18. show us pics leh.... must be v nice reno wow! $48k! mine hovers around $35k inc aircon, laminate, lcd tv, staircase carpet ... v tight budget cos getting broke...hopefully exceed go up too much.
  19. Hey, me also a bishaner. wh part ur EM? how much did u pay for it?
  20. TQ but i suspect it will take v long to do cos we moved all our things there and i took up 2.5 bedrooms!! hmmmm then why u buy EM ?
  21. eh? what a conincidence. my boy is also enrolling in 2009.. wh school r u thinking of putting him? oic, then we must be q lucky to get it at $23k. My reno cost is around $30k for 3 toilets, kitchen, laminate flooring for rooms and homogeneous tiles for level 1. Will have to add another $4k for aircon. We r hoping not to exceed $35k if possible.
  22. wow! $45k. But i think such high COV could be the norm now. we paid $23k for Bishan but we sealed the deal in Jan this year.... only recently then transacted and handover. where is your location? At least u dont have to redo your floor... i goto do up the whole house. can install system 5 (with one compressor). We figured out how we r going to do the aircon - 1 system 4 - 2 bedroom n living and dining. 1 casement aircon in room on lower level. 1 portable aircon for room in 2nd level. Total 6 sets. I was told we can only buy Daikin S4, Mit Electric S4 non invertor or Fujitsu bec of the restriction on the maximum running amp of 8.5 A. u have to check what is your max running amp.
  23. I think COV really depends on where is your location. Yours must be somewhere q central? I tend to be v spectical of what agent tell me. Dont forget that their aim is to see as high as possible so that their comm can be as much as possible.
