[Common Bedroom 2] Previously, we had reported to BSC that our bedrooms' parquet tiles have numerous hollow areas and was told that 1 full week is required to do the fixing works. As not to delay the initial renovation works, we had postponed this fix to be done only after electrical,air-con,false ceiling and carpentry measurement had been completed. As such, for this coming week, we would let BSC to do their job. My ID had arranged the painting works to start on 3rd week of October and we are going to use Nippon Paint Easy Wash with Telfon . For our MBR, we will be trying out the new Nippon Momento!!

On Friday, we took a full day leave again to meet up with my ID & the carpenter for on-site measurement and compartments selection for all the carpentry works. As we are tall, we had specifically requested to make the worktop higher than the standard 34-inch height from the floor. The renovation had been progressing fast. The following are some updates: [Living Room] Some final-touch up by the false ceiling contactor [Kitchen] As you can see, the small partition wall had been done up and also the hacked SY door frame had been patched up [Common Corridor] The aircon trucking had been box-up and also the beam had been extended to be able to hold the air-con

As my scope of work and design will be different from you, it will be best if you contact Plush Living directly for quotation. I can say that their price is competitive after meeting several IDs

The following are some work-in-progress pictures on the false ceiling works at the living room area. I am using Rockwool for my false ceiling as part of the room treatment to improve the sound acoustics for my Home Theatre system Please note that it is not just putting rockwool on the false ceiling, there are also specific choice of material and procedures on how to mount the metal structures to the ceiling to prevent rattling.

gglg. I am happy with the installation workmanship by Gaincity. No matter which company you choose , you should be around to see and check during the installation to ensure the work is done properly and any issue can be resolved immediately. For Gaincity, I am sure that they have many installation teams. If a team made a mistake, does it mean the whole company is bad? There are always two sides to a story when something happens but do you get to listen to both? Citygas has standard rate listed on their website for gas piping for both kitchen and heater. Water piping installation for your heater is done separately by your own plumber.

Yes. Our kitchen is "pigeon" small. That is the reason why i took away my SY door so that i can extend my kitchen workshop for more workarea. I have bought a good suction hood and will be using dryer often as such the issue of oil fumes is minimised. I guess there is no perfect solution but best solution.

29/09/12 was a shopping day for us. Our ID, Cheryl had previously advise us not to purchase furnishings without notifying her as she was worried that we would select something that would not match the overall theme or the wrong dimensions. Today, she had followed us to the shops where we had bought our furnishings (Sofa,Lightings,Dining Table, Toilet Accessories and carpet) and offered her assistance for us to make the right selection. [Our Lovely Dining Pendant Light] For the coming week, the false ceiling works will start on Monday. And on Friday, we will be meeting the carpenter for measurement & shelving planning for our TV feature wall, wardrobes , shoes cabinet, kitchen worktop and cabinets

The followings are some work-in-progress photos for your viewing! The laying of the electrical wiring and cat6 lan cable for all the rooms are done. As for the rest of the electrical works, the electrician has to wait till the false ceiling and carpentry works are completed. We will be using the several remote controls to allow us to manage the lighting combination of each of the functional areas easily. For example, Remote 1 Living Room - All covelights & downlights ON Only covelights ON Only downlights ON Only covelights & back downlights ON (when watching movie) [Living Room] [Dining & Foyer] [Kitchen]

The following are the 3D drawings [Living Room] For the TV console, i had decided to take away the shelves at the left side as it looks weird without right side doing the same. The 5.1 speakers and the correct HI-FI rack are not shown in this drawing. [Dining Area] [Kitchen] [Guest Room] [MBR Room]

Currently, I am in a dilemma on whether to choose LED or PLC for my downlights and cove lights. Read that the cost of LED still does not justify on its electrical savings when compare with PLC lights. Can anyone give me advise on this?

Hee hope our Annual Leave balance can last till the end of the renovation!

We have collected our new flat keys on Wednesday but had to wait till Thursday to open our door. On Thursday itself, we have a crowd outside our main gate (David Tong to do fengshui audit, Cheryl from Plush Living to do actual site measurement(hope no increase in price ) and Nicholas from SoundZipper to design sound acoustic treatment for Home Theater System at my living room)! All ready to go in 11am!! and we rolled a pineapple from the main door to the middle of the living room to symbolise ushering in of wealth and prosperity and shouted “Huat Ah!” while doing so. I hope it was not too loud Next we mixed rice and salt together and sprinkled them on all corners of the house.Rice is to represent abundance of food in the future and salt is believed to get rid of spirits and ghosts. It is also believed that these spirits hide in corners of the house, hence people normally throw at the corners. The last burst you will throw out of your house to symbolise getting rid of them out of your house. While David Tong was doing the fengshui audit, i took the chance to take a few pictures of my flat! [View from Living Room Windows] [bedroom 3] **For our bedrooms, we placed a piece of paper at the corner before putting the rice/salt mixture to prevent salt damaging our parquet flooring [bedroom 2]
