I disagree leh. am in the HR dept... but we dun press down salary one. Usually, we collect Market survey & let the hiring mgr/head know wats the mkt range. They decide how much they pay one.... but of cos, if they offer much much more than mkt range (more than 10%), they hv to justify to the Financial Controller or MD why they want to offer so much lah. HR is more like the processing unit only lor....

Sorry hor... watever stated on the Employment Act only protects those earning $1.6K & below. If you earn above this amt, you're no longer protected by the Act. The good news is - cos gov now encouraging more babies, if you felt tt u are mistreated (even if you are earning abt 1.6K), you can still log a complain to MOM & they'll try to *talk* to yr employer. But be prepared. Aft the *Talk*, yr employer may give u yr maternity benefits etc.... but you can expect the environment to be difficult to work in aft u come bk from maternity leave. They may even terminate u aft tt... just cos in the 1st place, they are aren't happy wif u being preggy but forced to keep u by the gov. But once the bb is born, the employer sure show their face to you....

kekeke... ya, quite heng lor... We have moved in on 4th Aug liaoz.... Slight hiccup by the mover... appt to move was at 1pm. he din showed his face till almost 5pm! SIL who has been staying with us all along din really helped to unpack. Just kept herself to her room mostly. Had to unpack so much stuff... till my whole body aches! Sun tried to hang my clothes then upstair neighbour hang dripping clothes that doesn't seem to have gone thru' the rinse cycle at all!! !! Went up & told the maid nicely to rinse out the laundry since the owner not ard. whole day unpack. dinner time went for dinner.... then FS Master called & told us our unit number came out zun zun in Consolation. Ah lao & SIL kenna... but I never tio!!!! Why leh? Cos I too busy with the packing & unpacking lor!

I will definitely call Police. Let the police go & talk to them. 1 time cannot, call 2 times, 2 times cannot, call 3 times. Call & Call till the police get pek chek & give them severe warning then they will stop. Some ppl cannot be too nice to them. I just moved to my new flat in Redhill also. Last Sunday hang my clothes out, then realised upstairs dripping water.... maciam never rinse out the water kind of dripping. I went upstairs & saw the maid. Ask to talk to the owner, owner not ard, so I told the maid to bring in the clothes & rinse dry 1st then put out to dry... she said ok.... so now we observe. If happen again, I'll definitely talk to the owner... nicely of cos... but if again, then cannot say I dun give chance liao... !!

Get FOC from UPS! Their boxes are sturdy enough for heavy stuff.... Our office got account with them. Just call them & ask them to deliver to your office. Otherwise, FedEx or DHL also can.

I'm glad to say that I've found mine too : Leslie from Linewerkz. He has been very on the ball and given me update at least twice a week on the status of the reno. Where items gone wrong or cannot be delivered, he will keep me informed. He kept to the deadline we have given him. Delivered what he promised. Gave alot of practical ideas and was responsible & reliable. Any issues that we had, he will resolve promptly.

yes, yes.... its backsplash... Mine was silverish grey color.... & Bingo! the semi circlish area is our relac corner. Currently my little girl love to sit there & face the window when she's eating her snack... she loves the view of the playground. Thanks! The tap original selling price was $220. Aft negotiation, it was $180. But we paid $120 only... cos originally we didn't order this tap altho' its very nice... was thinking $60 can pay other stuff mah... but the guy apparently wrote wrongly on his order form cos we keep saying the tap very nice & like it alot. the one we ordered was of a diff model. when he do the delivery, our ID kept asking him - "correct hor? All no wrong hor?" He confirmed correct... so we "tan tiao" liao lor!

Thanks! ya... the ID will do the chemical wash on the tiles today. & wiping of the laminated floor. Tmrw, we will go into wipe the floor 1 more time. then clean all the cabinets shelving etc. + wash the toilets. Also need to fix up the Ikea stuff that we bought. Hopefully will be able to finish.

Anyways, these are some of the FOC items that the ID throw in for me. 1 big thing that he also gave me FOC aft they start the reno was to give me the tempered glass on the kitchen wall (between the top & bottom cabinets part) I actually requested for a stainless steel backlash (dunno correct term or not?) for just the stove area cos easily to clean when oily... ID initially said ok. Then when work started, ID called me to tell me that he'll throw in the tempered glass backlash for Free! Of cos I said go ahead lah! hahaha.... The cane seat show in the 1st thread... saw exactly the same in IMM 3rd floor & in Sungei Kadut 1 of the factory but cant rem exactly what name... Instead of hanging from the ceiling, the one I saw comes with a Metal stand. Not sure how much tho'...

err... when I go to our new flat, I'll try to take pics for you to see? It helps to prevent "banging" sounds when we close the cabinets... esp the drawers... cos we have the tendency to just shove the drawers shut... it kind of close then leave abt 1cm gap & slowly shut by itself. (this one is a small unit that's installed onto the track of the drawer) For those cabinet when its lift up to reveal the dish draining rack, its a stick looking thingy... dunno how to explain. for those who has been to Culture Kitchen (near to redhill that side) & tried out slamming their cabinets , you'll know what I mean...

Not sure if you've already started your reno... I've seen colonial/ peranakan designs in Interior Magazines like Expat. Some shops in Dempsey road actually give away free copies! The mags usually cost $5 each.
