  1. Here's another really quick & easy recipe - Grill Lemon Butter Fish: Ingredients - 1 medium size fish (can be whole fish or fish fillet: run with pepper & soy sauce) - 1 small size lemon (1/2 cut into slices, leave the other 1/2 alone) - Butter Method: - Preheat Oven on Low Grill. - Put slice lemons + 1 small scoop of butter on the pan/ casserole dish then place fish on top. Put a few more slices of lemon on top & another scoop of butter on top of fish. - Cover with aluminium foil & grill fish for 5-10mins (depending on size of fish) - Remove foil & grill for another 15-30mins on low or till juice flows clear when u prick the fish with a fork. - Remove from Grill & squeeze balance of lemon juice on top then Serve. 2. Hv worked in both MNCs & SMEs.... wld just say that the work environment is the most impt. If u hate the work environment. gg to work everyday wld be a chore. Of cos the pay package shdn't be too bad also lah. I find tt MNCs tend to hv more red-tape & politics, need to do alot of arse kissing if u want to go up the corporate ladder, find the correct "kao shan" to lean on etc. Not so much freedom to do wat u want. Protect yrself in all angles at work cos u never know who will back stab u. The pros are the "benefit" of hving the MNC name listed on yr resume & hopefully, its impressive enuf to get u to yr next career change. If u do in the event (sway sway) get retrench, u might be able to get some retrenchment benefit. Everything is usually spelt out clearly enuf so u roughly know what u can/ cannot do. SME cons - No proper procedure if doing work. Most of the time, u hv to guessed or feel yr way thru'. Benefits may not be as gd as MNCs. SME pros - supposedly less politics since less ppl. More flexibility. More "Ren Qing" to say compared to MNC. May learn more things since usually u "bao" everything fr top to bottom. End of the day, its how u sell yrself to yr next potential employer that matters lah. Put it this way - a freaking impressive resume will only get u an interview. How u sell yrself is the deciding factor on whether u get the job or not.
  3. You'll get saggy boobs too even if u dun BF (breastfeed). Those having a larger cup size (above B cup) tend to get saggy boobs easier compared to the those having a smaller cup size. To prevent having saggy boobs, a good support bra + proper massage is very impt. End of the day, choosing to BF or not is a personal choice. There really isn't any right or wrong. You'll just have to weigh the pros & cons of BFG yr child. Some Pros or reasons when I chose to BF: - Lower the mother's risk of hving womb & breast cancer - Have heard of cases where mother has cysts in the womb and surprisingly aft a few mths of BFG, the cysts went away. Doc said cld be due to BFG. - Give yr child better immunity against viruses. Hv read reports tt BF kids usually recover faster than FM (Formula Milk) fed kids when they are sick - Creates a closer bond between mother & child. - extremely convenient. No need to carry so many btls, water, powder milk, etc. I just sling my bb & BF her while shopping. - Can save alot of money. - Formula Milk are made from Cows. Breast milk is for human. My bb is Not a calf! Cons: - sore & painful nipples - may get engorgement which is quite painful. - Yr boobs no longer belong to you.... it belongs to the bb! Some good websites to start off with BFG are: http://www.kellymom.com http://www.lalecheleague.org http://www.breastfeeding.org.sg/indexhelpcorner.html http://www.askdrsears.com
  4. TBF my girl since a bb till 1 yr old. Then mix with Formula milk. Wean her off at abt 3.5yrs old. Till now, she's still occasionally asking to nurse. She's 46mths now. Survived sore & bitten nipples + engorgement. Had a short period of time where supply was low. but managed to overcome that and had so much excess EBM (Expressed Breast milk) that I managed to donate to a couple who wanted to give their kids BM but cos of medical reason was unable to produce.
  5. You can save abt 50% of that cost if you go on total BFG (breastfeeding). Just make sure you invest in a good Electric Breast pump. Wld recommend u to get either Medela (can get from hospital) or Ameda. If u can afford it, get a double pump, definitely can yield more milk than a single one!

  7. After baby is born, you'll prob need to set aside for the following: - $500 for Baby sitter - $200 for milk powder if you are not breastfeeding & depending which brand of milk powder u buy. (Personally strongly encourage breastfeeding. I BF my girl till she was abt 3.5yrs old) - $200 for food/ diapers - $100 for doc (just in case, esp so if you are bring yr bb to a PD.) + misc.
  8. Dh (dear/darling hubby) does the following: - He knows I hate doing household chores, so he does almost all the hsehold chores. (95%) - He leaves me sweet notes on places he know I'll see. (tho' now not as often) - He drives me to & from work altho' he doesn't have to. - When he's out for meetings, he always tell his co-colleagues that he needs to pick up his wife & daughter so better dun arrange too late or too far away. (His colleagues tell me this cos they kenna scolding from him b4) - Helped to take care of Baby's needs when she's younger. - Bring our little girl to the playground on weekends just so that I can sleep in w/o disturbance. - When I'm sick, he'll take 1/2 day or 1 day leave to take care of me. If its not possible, he'll at least try to get lunch for me. - Cook for me. Things that I do for him: - Cook his fav dishes/ soup for him - Take over the hsehold chores (even its for a day) from him. - Take care of our little girl so that she doesn't disturb Daddy's nap or gaming session on the computers - Serve him ice cold beer when I know he is thirsty - Giving him Massages

  10. Dear All, Would you be able to share how you benchmark the staff levels in your company? We are in the midst of doing this exercise & would like to find out more. i.e. Clerical staff (level 1 & 2), level 1 being the higher level thus has more responsibility & higher salary skill etc. Same would go for Manager staff. Thanks ah!

    Training Bonds

Hi, Our company used to pay 100% of the course fee (if its related to the job scope) without any bond. However, with the new management now on board, they are saying that there should be a bond for the courses. I'm proposing a minimum of 6 months bond for every $5K. (regardless whether it's a seminar, workshop or diploma/degree courses). The staff will have to serve the bond after the completion of the last examination paper. Can you share what is your company practice ? We are concerned that some staff may play "punk" & slack in their work, etc just to get the co. to terminate them so that they will not have to re-pay back the amount/ bond. Many thanks!
