Hey, Hoping someone can help give me some advice. We're about to start the reno process on our new HDB flat, and have decided to overlay the tiles for both bathroom floors in our unit....only the cost of doing this will be over 2k, which (when calculated on per sq ft basis) works out to be almost twice the cost of overlaying wall tiles (which we also doing). I argued with the ID over this already, he says the prices he quoted me are the flat rate which the contractor quoted him, and that there's very little markup. He also says that this is the market practice in Singapore......is that true??? Seems strange that bathroom wall tiling would be calculated on per sq ft basis, but bathroom floor tiling would be flat rate, presumably no matter the size of the bathroom (?) Would love any advice, or if someone can point me to a contractor who can do it at short notice for a price which is much more reasonable... Thanks guys and gals
