  1. Ya haha.. We really spoil our dog thxs to my wife.. We bought lots of beds for him in the past, but he destroys all of them haha.. In the end he just sleeps with us on the bed.. For the dog house, we paid $900 for the carpentry works.. Really expensive but he never uses it!
  2. Hi, I'll go and dig out my quotation and let you know,
  3. Sounds terrible! We also had some serious issues with our carpentry work.. The dimensioning came out quite weird and funny looking.. Especially our tv console. My wife was so angry that she made them redo all the wardrobe doors and entire tv console to match our initial design haha.. At least it looks better now.. There's still abit of issues left like hard to slide drawers and a slightly warped tall unit door, but we have learnt to live with it.. Also, we have some problems of ants in our house..dunno where they are coming from
  4. Hi, you can try Ryan (Hp: 96781541) from Radianze Furnishing & Decor. He is a very friendly guy.. always very punctual, and his prices are quite competitive.
  5. Hi! I will get my wife to PM you.. I'm really clueless about these details.. I'm only in charge of the laborious stuffs like cleaning and moving furniture haha..
  6. And lastly, the Dog House! Disclaimer: Pictures are posed. The dog hardly goes into his house. Only roams the rest of the house, and prefers to sleep on our bed at night or in the dirty laundry basket in the day..
  7. Masterbedroom (No pics of common bedroom cos it's empty except for 1 build-in wardrobe): (Sorry bed looks unmade cos Pebbles loves to jump onto the bed and dig into the blanket... Something like this...
  8. Service Yard: We built in a tall unit to hide all our cleaning equipments.. brooms, mop, bucket, detergent etc.. A quite useless window in kitchen opening out into the service yard..
  9. Entrance + Access Balcony: Our shoe cabinet is sooo small... mis-communicated to the carpenter.. haiz.. only can fit so little shoes..
  10. I think I better upload the photos now before I lose interest in my own tblog.. Firstly, some cam whore shots of my dog: He was so excited when he came into the new house.. running and jumping and sniffing all over. Luckily he hasn't destroyed or damaged anything in the house yet
  11. How's your reno so far? Ours have actually completed about 1 week ago.. was busy cleaning and cleaning, and allowing the contractors to do their rectifications..
  12. Yeah it's quite funny sometimes .. There was once we were doing some calculations for curtains on a piece of paper and ignoring him, so he ripped that paper and ate the scraps! 8| He usually leaves pieces of paper alone, so we didn't keep our calculations in a safe place when we left the room!!! Of course we were quite annoyed at that time, but it's quite funny to think about it now
  13. Pebbles Wash Before the contractor could install the pebbles wash, we had to do a chemical wash first, to ensure that the area is very clean (according to our ID ), so after the lightings, aircon and stucco walls were up, he arranged one evening for cleaning... Service Yard: Our ID went down to site and Whatsapp us this image.. looks better than I expected haha.. Was afraid that it might look boring or ugly No Entry!!! Balcony/Entrance Way (work-in-progess): We would be installing a half-height shoe cabinet/umbrella storage unit on the left hand side, so hopefully the brown tiles would be centralized in the walkway when completed.. View from Masterbedroom: If we work hard enough, maybe one day we can move into one of those units here? :dunno: Bonus Pic: It has been raining quite alot the past few days, and we have been leaving our dog alone at home while we go and visit the house... I guess he's angry so he stole our umbrella and don't want to return to us...
  14. Some lighting that we chose We chose pretty standard (and boring) lightings.. the nice feature lights are really really expensive! Lighting wasn't really a big consideration during our design process of the house Kitchen: Standard kitchen lights, recommended by store person.. Toilet: Service Yard: For the rest of the house, we had philips downlights installed in our false ceiling... didn't take any photos of that..
  15. After such a long time, I am finally have the determination to update my tblog haha... been procrastinating for too long already.. Since the previous update, our house has been painted (not completed), false ceiling done, lightings and aircon installed, and stucco walls up. View from the living room to the main entrance: My wife was afraid that the colors she chose might be too dark (scared mosquitoes come into our house at night ), but I really liked the colors.. always wanted something darker and more bold.. my mother was too conservative and we always had light-colored walls.. Stucco wall for TV console: Looks quite good to us.. didn't expect the wall to have the rustic textures haha... but since it is made up of plaster, we are quite afraid that it might not be durable in the long run. Oh well.. we couldn't afford Craftstone anyway.. We did 2 stucco walls, one for the TV console, and 1 for the entrance way/balcony coming into the house. Our bedside lamps: Got 2 of these wall-mounted at the side of our bed... will get our ID to install a small ledge under each lamp... Didn't know what type of bedside lamps to get, so we got a simple (and relatively cheaper) one... Aircon installation: Because we did false ceilings in all the bedrooms, the space left for the aircon is really little! We didn't know where to place it, and we didn't want the aircon to be too low or be in the middle of the wall.. so the aircon man suggested that we get the contractor to cut a hole/recess area for the aircon to sit inside. Wife didn't really like the idea at first, and felt that it might appear that we are trying too hard to hide our aircon unit.. After going through all the alternatives with her (need to consider the ugly trunkings too), she finally went with this suggestion
  16. Been busy for the past few days, but we managed to buy 1 more item for the house! A fridge!! Samsung Side-by-Side Refrigerator RSA1WTIS Bought from Harvey Norman for $1099. Our initial budget was actually less than $1000 for a fridge, and we were seriously considering the white side-by-side fridge from Samsung ($949), but we were afraid that it might get dirty easily and it's harder to match a white fridge with our kitchen haha. Anyway there's a promotion from Samsung right now, and with the purchase of the fridge, we can have a choice of a $150 Cold Storage voucher or a Coffee Bean coffee machine. Think we might choose the coffee machine instead
  17. Hi! We actually quite like Jurong West area. Been staying here for the past 2 years, and it's quiet here compared to other areas so we decided to look for a house here. The only irritating thing is the planes flying past sometimes.. so noisy!
  18. Hi Maydream, Thanks! I went into your tblog before, and it's really nice! Really hope that our finished product can be half as nice haha... progress is rather slow at the moment, but hope it will start to speed up soon.. PS: Staying near NTU is good! We always to go NTU for dinner.. the food there is cheaper compared to outside, and their macdonalds meal is only $3.60 for doublecheese evm haha
  19. Went to Gain City Expo today and bought 2 items! LG55LM6200 Price: $1961, inclusive of 3 years extended warrenty (for a total of 5 years) Freebies: 4 pairs of 3D glasses, HDMI cable, wifi dongle, wall mount+installation! EF Built-In Oven BOAE62A Price: $430, inclusive of 4 years extended warrenty (for a total of 5 years) Currently quite happy with the prices... but not sure if the prices will drop since we are only going to move in 1 month later in Dec
  20. Pebbles Wash Our ID asked the contractor to make a mini model of the 2 different types of pebbles wash to show us. Using glue as binder Using cement as binder Appears that using glue looks (and feels) better than using cement!! Looks more natural and less "HDB park-style" haha. Not sure what are the disadvantages of using glue though. The contractor said that both are equally durable, just that it might be harder to clean the one using glue since small particles or dirt can fall between the gaps. Also, we are a little afraid that our dog might try to scratch out the pebbles and eat them (he's called Pebbles for a reason )... But we are still going to take a risk for aesthetics haha! Anyway, we initially wanted to do the pebbles wash for the skirtings in the service yard and balcony as well, but it seems that it's very difficult to do so using the glue as binder (might be possible with cement though), so we are just going to use a white tile (same floor tile as the kitchen) for the skirtings instead. Looks ok for now, but since the pebbles wash is not yet installed, we will post the finished picture at a later time
  21. We only have 2 of us staying + 1 dog, so we have extra space.. sometimes we don't even know what to do with the spare bedroom Hope we didn't overestimate ourselves by getting a 5rm HDB..
  22. Hi, I saw that you found my post too haha.. Yep our houses are really mirror image, but yours seems more well maintained than mine. Is yours the top floor unit too? I find the ceilings not that high for a top floor unit, somemore we are going to put false ceilings.. I think I jump abit can touch the ceiling already. Will post updates on my thread, so feel free to take a look.. although my reno progress is quite slow haha..
