hey... welcome to the "bird don't lay egg" area! I live in jw st 92 for 95% of my life. It's a great place to stay in. Hope you enjoy the place like I love my parent's home!

Hi Keysmaker, thanks for your praise. My house has not offically handover, left with the glass backing not done yet. But we have move in alr. We has been settling down for 1 week, quite a relaxing week cuz didn't do much work. Still waiting for Mr L for my glass backing before my flat OFFICALLY hand back to us. I must say my ID is really a nice guy. Give him 8.5 out of 10. No perfect job in this world. Given that my house has not much hacking, quite a fair bit of carpentary, the quote he have me is really reasonable, 23k. He will advice me on what things is need and what type of things is want, so really help me to save a fair bit. He also tell me that he's an ID, so anything that goes thru him will incur additional cost, and that we shall go directly to his contact for cheaper deals. 1 of the example is my wall paper. So far everything is in order, no defects at the moment. Now still have to wait for my furniture b4 my home can be completed.

Hey, u using nippon paint? After looking at your purple ceiling, I regret mine not done in that color. But mine very purple-ish for my mbr. My house aso no theme. Just have to do what we want. Btw, did u build your own baywindow in the living room?

Hey Sygnur, thanks! Good news is that I can bring Tiffany back home every night, except for Wed cuz got swimming class. I'm still thinking whether I should further my studies or not. The pros is that I'm more educated and perhaps bring in more income for the family. Hubby mention that if I take a advanced dip, princess will feel proud of me too! The cons is that less time for princess! It's hard for me to decide. Gr... TO ALL MY BELOVED CASA CLEMENTI PEEPS, this is what I read recently, extract from Channel News asia. "SINGAPORE: The Housing & Development Board (HDB) has been conferred six prestigious industry awards. Five projects -- My Waterway@Punggol, Punggol East, Greenwood Sanctuary@Admiralty, Casa Clementi and Ghim Moh Valley -- won the International Real Estates Federation (FIABCI) Singapore Property Awards 2012." Feel kinda proud that Casa Clementi won this awards. My 1/2 a million house has not gone to waste. Settling in the new house is not a easy chore, at least for hubby. He has been cleaning and vaccuming the house almost every night. I have been accompany and playing with princess till she sleep, but have to wake up in the morning to do chores too. Not an easy task. After moving in to Clementi, I realised that I stop certain activities I used to do, for eg: watch TV. Boo~ Just wondering if any of the resident residing at 420 #xx-211 have problems with their internets? I'm unable to access the internet from my MBR. My mio tv is in my living room. Also, I realised that among the 4 units of mine, 3 are SERS resident. 2 are pretty friendly with 1 of the aunty frequently visit my house to take a look. Hopefully 1 of the aunty can help me take care of princess!

Thanks Sygnur, she's a darling! Yday marks my offical moving-in date. Cater a mover to move 1 room full pack of stuff. Total cost $180. Service is 4.5/5. 2 of my shoe rack drop and informed the packer about it. They told me they will bring it back within 1 hour, but think 1/2 hour it's already at my door step. Didn't know that my gas stove final connection need to be arrange by myself. Told Mr L abt it and he msg me some weird weird msg. So after a few msg, I sms him, "Lucas, do u know who am I?". That's when he realise that he has msg the wrong Kerlyn. It's kinda amazing that my ID has client of the same name. Anyone has this problem b4? Or anyone knew how long it will take for the city gas guys to come down to do the connection? Also did up my storeroom. Paid a reasonable of $180 for my storeroom. Beside this, another uncle(around 60years old), came knocking my door. He's here to fix up my main door. From wad he comment, our door is still easily removed by the burglar and hence change the hinges. He's rather knowlegeable and told me that all my 3 neighbors are actually in SERS scheme and he has been coming up my house often to see if we are at home. Beside helping me out in the hinges, he also fix me to fix the portable lock on my main door. Although yday was our move-in date, I'm not as happy as hubby. To me, my jurong west home & clementi home are the same. Just that clementi home is registered under my name. Princess has not moved in with us. That's the pain in my heart. Although we are just 15 mins driveway(AYE Clementi exit to Pioneer Circle), We are unable to bring her back. My work start at 8am and hubby has different site to work on, so timing wise is very diffcult. I missed princess a lot a lot. She make me grew up from a small woman to a mature lady. I thank her for letting me to grow up
-
Thanks Keysmaker! 1 reason for colorful theme bcuz of princess. We wanted her to grow up in a colorful world. Today marks the XX day of my reno. Lost count of the days. Has been going up to my flat to see almost everyday. Work has been good, carpentary guy's work is good too. Everything is okay except my granite top. It is obvious that it's not straight. Has asked Mr L to take a look. Today will be the final printing and also tml will be a chemical wash. Tml has a hectic schedule. Singtel coming in the morning, kitchen appliance will be in and curtain too. Although my offical handover date is 29 Oct due to glass backing, I'm moving in on sun! No throwing of pineapple or bleh bleh. 1 reason is bcuz I have a MIC hubby. But my housewarming will be in mid Nov as my furniture has yet to arrive. Really hope that the furniture shop will not give me any problem. Every 19th is my happy day! Princess 6th month of arrival! My Princess Tiffany! Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Hey, it's nice! You did purple for your ceiling? I have most of your colors in my house

Yday went to Catalogue on Tuesday to buy an additional roll of wallpaper. It cost me $85 per roll, but for 2 rolls and above it's $75 per roll. For those who know how do DIY, please DIY yourself. 1 box of glue is less than $10, but the cost for someone to paste it for you is relatively high. My L-shaped wall done by Ryan was $200 including 1 plastering, that's a friendship price for Mr L. Catalogue quote me $50 per roll but min 3 roll, so I guess this time I have to go with Catalogue. I believe I have bought most of the things except, kitchen knife and my mops. Will be moving in this Sun. A bit sad cuz princess will not be moving in with me and will only stay with me during weekend. But will bring her back in Jan 14. I hope I will be strong, no mother would like to be parted with their children.

Hi star70, if I'm not wrong, you should be staying around 800++

Weekend was definately well-spent. Sat was princess's jab day follow by a visit to HN to buy home theatre system at West Mall. Bought the air purificer at less than $200 at HN too. It's a gift for princess. I wanted a better water drinking system, but it's not cheap and not available for sale at HN. Sun went to jurong point to shop for kitchen ware. The price is quite high as I do not want to use plastic kitchen ware, except for ice cream bowls. So went to Tott at Dunearn road and came out with almost $100 worth of kitchen ware. They are having a 10% discount, so it's still worth it and the price is almost 1/2 of what JL and ntuc can sell. Of cuz, they are not as light as JL's products, but it's still consider light compare to IKEA. Had a short last min meet-up with Mr L. Meet him to have some discussion and to ensure that everything is in order. So far so good. I must say we really click on with him and we are more like personal friend than "client-customer". Hopefully all goes well and everything except glass-backing with be ready by Sat. Den sun we can offically move in.

The above is my living hall, purple as a base and sunny yellow as a feature. Uploaded with ImageShack.us My mbr, totally purple color. Can someone teach me how to rotate the pic, try to rotate it b4 I upload, but still not good... This week is mostly on carpentary job and getting Mr L's friend to paste my wallpaper. Try pasting the wallpaper on myself, but it's a failure. So spent some money to paste on 2 walls. I'm trying to ask the person who sell me the wallpaper where he bought it, so I can paste another roll on the other wall. It has always been a smooth sailing working with Mr L, occassionally will call me up to tell me what is going on. But problem do arise. That's my own problem, I suppose. My dinning light(LED) is quite dark, making my whole living room a bit darker, so have to ask the electrican down to do a light near the door. The funny part is that, I have been telling them that I want to tap the light from the dinning area, but they keep thinking it's tap from kitchen. A bit funny, but nevertheless the problem is solved. Went to some shops in jurong east(opp chinese garden) and bought the light. Not that I fancy, hubby say save money, no more crystal light. Okay, I admit that I fall in love with 1 crystal light that cost me $105, but hubby bought the brighter light at $55. The lighting aren't that expensive over at jurong east. I seriously doesn't like my house's design that much(still grumbling). Dislike the toilet and my bay window. I'm still afraid that after a few years, my bay window will turn horrible looking. As for my "coffee shop" looking toilet, I dun know how am I going to settle. Hubby die die dun wan to do anything to it. I think for the first 5 years, I have to work my a** off to repay my reno debts.

TGIF! 1 more week to move in, but not all work are done yet. But b4 it, I shall post some pic. URL=http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/11/picture420j.jpg/] Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Sat was a fruitful day. A** B*** sent their techincian down, 1 chief & 2 juniors technician. Arrived at 10.15am and start discussing how they are going to wire up my 3 rooms, Mr L came at around 11am and comment that they are pretty fast in their work and the work is nicely done. So at around 1.15am, they are done with the whole house and it sure look pretty nice despite the ugly trunking. Plumber came at 4pm instead of the schedule 2pm, but the work is rather good. Was told by him that I need to change 1 of my towel rage, so everything was finished by 6.15pm. Well, I have tried to paste my wallpaper but it's a total failure. Have engaged Mr L's contractor to do my wall tonight or tml night. The rate is quite cheap, hope the guy will do it pretty well. I will post the pic when I have time to take some pics.
-
Just to share, as I'm really very pissed off now. If you have the following: - You do not have the whole day - You will have a contractor at site during the aircon installation, Please do not engaged A**B***. Was **** pissed off with them. Has been calling them up a few days ago to enquire on the aircon installation timing, all they can say is, "They will call you up on Friday". So I happily wait for them for their answer. They called my hubby who really dun know why do not understand that by right the aircon installation should be done in the morning. So I have to wait till their call to know wad time they are here and then arrange for last min work? That sound so unlogical.

Despite feeling sick, I decided I die die also must go shopping(cuz hubby going do OT). Lucky last min can find friend to go out. Went to Franc Franc at Vivo City. The shop is about thrice of the size of their jcube outlet. I told myself, I need to grab their plates and bowls. But in the end, I grab their glasses and mug. 4 glass and 2 mug total spent was $13.60. Freaking cheap lor... I wanted to buy their plates, but found out that it's too heavy even though it's pretty nice and some of their bowls are "salad size", which I do not need it. Their cutlery are rather expensive, those cheaper ones does not suit my house well. I saw some pretty chopstick(yes, I ate with chopstick even if I had a rice bowl in front of me). So now was thinking, should I buy those mats to put on my dinning table? It will look pretty nice but not nesscary. The next thing I fall in love with is their dustbin. Saw this purple, lace type of dustbin. I can imagine that it will suit my mbr very well, as it has this posh look. However, my jaw drop when I saw the price, $50 for 1 piece. It's freaking expensive but freaking chio lor. My friend told me that it's very pretty. But think of it, 1 Franc Franc dustbin can buy me 25 Ikea dustbin. I was also thinking whether to buy the umbrella stand, around $60 for that pieces but it do look classy. Enough of my happiness... I shall share abt my happycall pans. After reading so many good reviews on happycall pans, I decide to get myself 1 set. So went to gmarket to order 1 set. I browes thru and saw this black edition 4+2 pcs happy call set, at the cost of $137. Took me 2 days to decide, on the 2nd day, I went in to check, there is only 1 set left. I immediately grab it and proceed to payment. Payment was done on 2 Oct, and my happycall arrived at my mum place on 3 Oct. I thought for once, v.fast serviced. Went back to gmarket to write a review. Then last night, I went to withdraw money. For normal case, I wun bother to check on my balance, but somehow something told me that I should check my bank account. $274 was ON HOLD. I was **** scare, keep looking at the amount(the aunty at my back was freaking pissed off). I told my friend to hurry up as I have something urgent to settle. Rush to OCBC bank at 6plus and lodge the case. The bank say will do an investiagation and get back to me asap, but need around 2 weeks to proceed -.- Lucky I check on my bank account, if not I kana carrot aso dun know. Some might think that $130 plus is a small amount, but to a lady that doesn't earn much(hubby paid was more than 2x of mine), its freaking a lot plus the high expense in Singapore.

Has not been updating my blog for a few days, partly bcuz I'm down with all sort of common sickness. But still, hubby make it a point to drive me up to casa to take a look on the process. Painting work is done, purple-ish feeling is there. I can feel that prettiest room is my daughter's room. Purple with girlish pink. But no picture was taken cuz too dark to take. Yday went up to see the lighting work. All are pretty-ly done except for dinning light. Felt that it's a bit too high. Has ask Mr L to lower down the lights. Hubby seem to be crazy over the noisy ceiling fan. How I wish I have the spare cash to buy a haiku fan. Anyway, the brand is Rega and I find it too noisy. My 3 chandelier do look pretty nice. Think today and tomorrow will be the chemical wash and Sat will be aircon installation. Hope All Best will not crop up and daddy will be there to supervise them. Me & hubby will be pasting our wall paper. Hope we will have time to go down to baby market to buy milk powder for princess. She's entering her stage 2 in just 15 days more. Looking forward to the day she call me, "Mummy".

Reno has been a smooth sailing to me(at least at this point of time). Surprise do knock on my door occassionally. Sat went up to casa thinking that I have to wait for 4 hours for 2 delivery (2pm to 6pm). But at 1pm, 1 of the delivery guy phone me informing him that he has arrive. WTF, I'm still having lunch at nearby. So have to fast fast chop chop eat lor. Then at 1.30pm, another delivery man called claiming he is at holland V, another shockness, but lucky I was still have. So bo bian, hubby have to go up again(we were at car park). So the whole delivery process end 4hours earlier. Today will go up to casa again to see if my lightings and painting is okay. Hubby is still in shock to see the house in rather obvious purple. hehe... but since he give me the power to decide, of cuz I will choose my favorite color. Shall find time to take picture, I hope my s3 can produce clearer pic.
-
Last evening went down to my house to take a look at around 6pm. Thought we might saw a few workers, but in the end, my house was locked. All the lighting points are up, re-location of a few points too. So far so good Tml will start the painting work, finally my house have some color. Will pop by tml to take a look, hopefully can take some picture.

Today mark the 7th day of renovation. We are a bit ahead of the intended process. Mr L supppose to hand over the flat to us by 20 Oct, but now look like he can hand over to us on 13 Oct. Yday finally sign my curtain contract. Got this contact from Miss A. Suppose to meet May(the curtain contractor) on Sun, but due to unforseen circumstance, I was unable to meet her. For those interested, she got a "make up" showroom at Blk 271B. As it was a contact from Miss A(hubby trust his colleauge), hubby was quite a good listener despite May was late for nearly 1 hour. By the time she arrive, it was quite dark in my house. I was on the phone with Mr L when May came, so both hubby and her was discussing about the house. Finally, he decide to do curtain for all bed rooms and a roller bind for my ugly air con window. Hubby aso guai guai accept the ideas that we need to build a laminate board on our bed window. Total damage was $1250 for 4 set of day and night curtain & 1 set of rollar bind. We also bought a non fire-safe from home fixed at IMM. It was quite a steal, as it is a big safe. I order the safe on Sat but was told that I do not need to pay the safe as the stock has not arrive. But received a call from them saying in order to lock the deal, I must pay first. A bit pissed off as I need to make an additional trip down to secure this deal that I wanted to pay on last Sat. Tml will be a meeting session with Mr L, hopefully nothing goes wrong. I wanted to be there, but cannot take leave
-
Thanks diva79, I always thought nobody could accept my 3D ideas. Weekend was burnt this week. **** tired to go back to work. Sat meet 3 curtain maker. But we still couldn't decide who to enagage. 1 main reason is that the ugly bed window and the L-shaped window for 2 rooms. Has been struggling the thoughts of getting rollar blind (easier to maintain) for bed rooms and curtains for living room. So currently not sure what we want for bedrooms. Sun is a **** sway day. Went to collect our lightings for the electrian to start work on Wednesday. However, my poor car broke down in Rocher Road again, its our 2nd time that the car broke down in Rocher Road, but luckily this time priness not on the car. So as SG is having F1 and Rocher Road is near there, EMAS quickly sent their response team down. Then my dad came along with his van and we went a few place to collect our lights. 6001 Beach Road The only lighting shop at there. I must say their chandeliers are quite reasonably cheap. Total damage is around $400 plus for 3 lightings. Their down point is that not much design, but lucky for us, the design we want are all showcase. But there's something I'm not sure, I do not know whether they sent me their display set. Cause the lights are not pack in their orginal box and all my 3 lights has since being taken off from the display. But uncle(around my dad's age) claim that the display set is sold off. But hubby say, as long as they give us the new lights and the set still look new, it's okay. 3 Kaki Bukit Road This warehouse has been doing quite a fair bit of advertisment in the strait times. The salesman(Desmond) is **** pushy, however their things is quite cheap(to me). We initally wanted to get a quote, but in the end take up the package. Being a Singaporean, I thought I will be getting Philip or OSRAM light. But my T5 is some brand that I never see b4. Spent around 1 to 2hours over there, despite having to inform them I will come today. Desmond even asked me why I do not want my items to be deliver, causing him so busy. A bit pissed off with him, but lazy to argue with him. He's the type of saleman that is **** pushy, didn't bother to write down the quote until hubby told him that we r sincere. As they have loads of room to showcase different products, he's very rush. We are 1/2 way looking at the lights and he quickly tell us to get this, get that. I'm a very flicked minded person, so I need to think hard hard b4 I finally decide. Then at the stage where we are discussing the price, hubby told him that we will need to think about it. Desmond seem not happy, but we still buy the lights(lazy to search for more) We bought from him the following - 4 T5 lights - 2 LED downlights - 5 round lights - 1 3-tube rectangular lights for kitchen - 2 2-tube rectangular lights for bed room - 1 2-tube sqare light for mbr - 1 ceiling fan with lights - 2 water heater Total damage : $1.5k We also bought from the bathroom section - 1 small undermount sink - 1 tap Total damage: $400 My comment is that, if you find a salesman too pushy, just walk off.

Thanks EL LoCo for praising the idea. But decide to give up due to hubby not responding. Today is the 4th day of reno, no updates from Mr L except the schedule of work. Hopefully no crop-up. Think will be visiting tonight or tml. If going tml, have to bring princess. Yday night was spent surfing the net for my clocks. Bought 5 clocks in total. Like what some forumer do, go buy at taobao, cheaper. 1 of the clock I bought from taobao is only 30RMB, when I saw in sg is SGD30, quite a huge difference. I have previously show hubby this clock, but he argue that too expensive, so therefore dun wan to buy. This time round, he support my idea, buy 3 in 1 go. In total, I spend $52 including sea transporation. I dun mind the waiting, since my house is not ready yet. Today morning, saw in some website and bought the bio-cutting board, a set of 4 is $16 - $18 Havent told hubby yet, but dun think he will nag too much. Kitchen is nv ren de tian xia, unless hubby wan to cook. If not, everything leave it to me. I still have loads of things not purchased yet. Given my "gan-cheong" attiude, most of the things should be ready b4 the hand over date. Ohya, Mr L give me my hand-over date on 20 Oct. 1 month down the road. Should be moving in by end of Oct(only if everything is okay). 80% of my big furniture will be in on 3 Nov, but scare that the company will not delivery it on time. The reviews they had in forum is not that good, but still give them a try, hope they will be better off this time, or least for my house.
