Instead of claiming it is MIJ. Companies should state their products being assembled in Japan. Then customers will know if they are paying value for money.

Luckily, the best denki salesperson who served me is honest about made in japan mitsubishi fridges. He said the compressor is the most important component of the fridge. Since the compressor is made by panasonic in Singapore, you might as well buy a panasonic fridge. You are just spending more money on the design of mitsubishi fridges. It just doesn't make sense! I am not against companies buying from each other components or even which countries manufactured the products . But please be honest to your customers! Using the made in japan label just to charge higher prices is plain travesty!

I will never buy made in china panasonic washing machine again! Recently bought 10 kg front load from best denki and had to sent it back due to water leakage from the front door. Best denki replaced it with a replacement but had the same problem again. In the end, I topped up money to buy miele washing machine. I like buying made in germany and japan products because of their work culture of excellence. In contrast, when companies like panasonic shift their operations to China, their quality dropped. Sure, they would claimed they have stringent QC. But imagine in a factory, where the ratio of japanese engineers to local workers are not the same. This is where loopholes, shortcuts and blind spots occurred.
