  1. Did my lights shopping today, so ill have to drop my interest for this. Thanks!
  2. I'm interested in the light! Is this wall or ceiling light? Is it warm or cool white color? Prefer the white one for my service yard.
  3. Hi! Do you remember how much did this Fujioh combo cost you?
  4. Very nice laminates! Did you engage evorich yourself or was it from Alan? I like the muted brown. Very soothing.
  5. Did some shopping today @ Royal Fanco. The boss was very friendly and took time to explain quite a bit of stuff to me and fiance. He has got a huge variety of stuffs, but a lot are not displayed. Bought my toilet bowls, basins, kitchen sink, bathroom taps, instant heaters from him at the end. Very glad that I kept within my budget (low to begin with), and even managed to save some bucks for my lunch this month. Any recommendations for budget hob, hood, ovens? I want to keep my expenditure for these below 1.1k in total. No Bosch or Electrolux luxury brands of course. We will cook very light stuff, maybe twice a week at most.
  6. Oops just googled and yes, cool white seems to be between white and warm white. Edit: oops I'm confused. Some says cool white is between, some say its higher K than daylight.
  7. Hmm, I thought cool whites are even stronger in terms of K? That would make it "whiter" and with a blue tinge. Warm white > white (daylight) > cool white The daylight I have is rated 6000k
  8. Having headache whether to use white or warm white lights. I'm afraid the white is too stark while the warm white will be too dull.
  9. Time flies when you doing reno. I've been putting off my reno due to various reasons, but once it started it was like a train. And I agree about the part about plenty of decisions to be made, and a lot of them on the spot using pure imagination. I remember asking me about how the tiling edges should be done. "45 degrees" or "rounded"? I was like, "huh? whats that?". Your flat turned out beautifully too.
  10. Just finalized my tiling specifications to Alan. Hope it turns out well, especially the masterbed room wall tiles.
  11. Hi, I'm no handy man. Can I find out if all taps (kitchen/bathrooms) have "standard" inlets? I'm intending to buy from taobao but I'm worried that i can't use it at my home. Also, can I use the hot-cold taps if I only have cold water? Not intending to get storage heater. Appreciate any advise.
  12. Some taobao purchases. Hope it reach us in 3 weeks time.
  13. Made some changes for our tiles. Living and Kitchen after the hacking: Decided not to hack the service yard walls as we want to hide the ugly laundry poles. Our relatively small MBR which will just have a king size bed, wall mounted TV, suspended dress table and cabinet below window recess. Study room WIW area to be built inside the large recess area. The other half of it will be my home theatre area. Still thinking how best to keep it neat.
  14. @ Bleucheeze: Wow, sorry to hear that.. but did you manage to work around the problem? Did you hack in the end? As for mine, very happy that the wall has been hacked! I think there were no beam inside. Will follow up with Alan on that. At the same time, decided not to hack the service balcony because the open-ness was achieved with just removing the living/kitchen wall. Further hacking the service yard wall will be overkill and messy with the laundry lying around. Will take some pictures over the weekend!
  15. Exactly my thought. The clothes will be very visible. It's currently a wall with a window gap (but no window). Also need to think ant what to do with that part. Shall post some pix tml! Just met up with Alan, he mentioned there might be a beam in the wall between living and kitchen. But hdb has already approved.. Shouldn't it be okay enough to hack it? He said need to hack already then know.
  16. There is actually already a wall with an opening. What I intend to do is to bring down the whole wall for a open feel. But my concern is that the service balcony is also my place with the laundry and the uglys. So end up, it might be even more cluttered than open!
  17. Nice! Where is this cb2 place? And the installation charge is 100 per item?
  18. thanks! Unfortunately there is a wall that requires PE certification. We are reconsidering if we wan to hack it. Any advice on if I should hack my wall between service balcony and kitchen? I wanted to hack it for a real open concept.
  19. Hello fellow Alanists! Sorry, that was kinda cheesy. Haha. Just did a first major round of cleaning before we start renovations. We had to do it because the place was in inhabitable hygiene conditions. We spend 4 hrs cleaning it with tons of water. Very pleased. Hope my permit will be completed soon.
  20. Urgent! Do i need to be there in person for my utilities turn-on? Can my wife be there instead? She's the legal co-owner.
  21. Did my tile selection round 1 today at LSH and Hafary. Alan was nice enough to pick me up from Novena MRT. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
