  1. I brought my parents to our place yesterday... my parents were complaining that it was too far for them.. as they stay in Sengkang. MY mother said she sat on my dad's motorbike until her bum was aching.. hahaha however, they seems to like the area.. said its location is quite accessible.. near JP and within walking distance to GIANT and eating places. Thats what made us to decide on getting the unit! When we were inside the house in the evening.. it was quite sunny but there was no glare in the house. The amt of light in the house was kinda comfortable... Initially my parents were saying that 130sqm is very big.. but after looking at the house.. the house does not appear to b very spacious. I think it is easy to clean cos the EA is being compartmentalised into small areas.. so jus clean one area a day.. shd b manageable. My dad was saying that we r quite lucky to have a rectangular layout flat.. so we dun need to do customised carpentary like they did for the Sengkang house. Btw, the toilet door at the kitchen cannot make it one~ been to friends and relatives houses who use the same door for their toilet.. all of their toilet door r faulty!! Its either the lock was stuck or the handle broke. So we r definitely going to change the door regardless of cost! Oh, do u smell something farnee when u r at the house?? I think it smell like something was burnt.. my hubby said we r near to a chocolate factory.. haiz, but it dun smell like chocolate leh.. if not I have no complains !!
  2. hihi Kenmura.. I had seen ur floorplan.. your MBR and kitchen is big!! In your MBR, I think U can put a Wiw at the space beside the door and conceal the toilet door.. I think my EA is too compartmentalised.. so rooms r smaller.. haiz, that's a pity. Anyway, enjoy the wait~ it will take ard 1.5-2 mths to collect the keys.. ensure that ur CPF is sufficient for 2 mths installment for the loan beside the stamp and legal fees. My hubby and I was not aware of that, but was lucky that we have enough CPF. meanwhile, go source for reno ideas and furniture and electrical applicances
  3. Hi SunBoi, we r planning to paint the walls ourselves.. but FIL insisted that we hire some labour to paint.. he said he can get help cheap. tomolo I am meeting up with my cousin aka my ID to discuss on the home reno design.. so see if I can do a WiW.. and accomodate my bed which can slide out forward to reveal the storage space. as for the kitchen.. on the floorplan, the length of the kitchen is 4m.. but it looks small leh.. den my MBR is 4.9X3m.. the dimensions seems big.. but on actual site its SMALL. However, we dun intend to hack the wall to make a bigger space cos we r going to use the 2 guest rooms for ourselves. BOth of us r taking one room each and that will b our space If we have a son, our son will occupy his room.. and vice versa
  4. Some Pix to share: The view from the balcony.. hubby and I had much arguement as he wanted high floor on other blk but I dun like the idea of looking down at the top of the carpark. I kinda convinced him that Blk 630 has better view, even though its on low floor. After looking out at the balcony, we r happy with the choice.. albeit a difficult one HUAT ah~! hehehe.. my parents made me shout as I throw the pineapple onto the floor after I first opened the door.. Front door looking out to the balcony Location of our pool table!! Small Small Kitchen.. view from my MBR Small Small MBR
  5. finally got the keys in the evening and opened the door liao!! but quite disappointing to see that the MBR is soooo small~ I dun think I can put my L-shaped WiW now. I dun even think that WiW is possible now.... The kitchen is oso quite small... smaller than the kitchen in my parents' 4rm appt in Sengkang!! but I am not really bothered by it.. cos not gg to cook a storm there anyway Overall, the house is not really that big as it appeared from the floorplan.. 130sqm . My hubby's 5rm flat in Jurong East is ard 135sqm.. but the rooms and kitchen r so spacious! Haiz, I guess most the floor area goes to the study room which is quite big loh.
  6. really? From the catalogue, the barley white appeared to have slight yellowish tint.. mayb lily white is a better option.. thanks for your advice!

  9. hi delon, I was not able to view the pictures.. but was managed to get to your blog to view pictures of ur house.. i liked the colours U've chose for ur love nest.. keke esp the Spectrum Red in your living room.. was considering between that or the Hibicus for my MBR wall, but the Spectrum Red was too bright, I scared my hubby will again . btw, I've got the NIPPON catalogue with me now!! hehehe.. had kinda decided wat I wanted Living Room Feature Wall ---> Light Cocoa (3-in-1 Matt) Walk in Corridor to the rooms (incl. ceiling) ----> Celery Green (Odourless) Study Room ---> Latte (Odourless) MBR feature wall ---> Hibiscus (Vinilex 5000) Ceilings ----> Barley White (Odourless) Doors ----> Mahogany (Bodelac 9000) any comments??

  11. I will update my reno progress in my Reno T-blog.. so keep urself updated there I kinda like the celery green colour but I am not into chic and modern. I jus like the bright and calming colour... its a pity that not many pple into green walls .. i just told my mother abt the green walls.. she was as well... haizzz
  12. will b looking out for more open grilles loh was thinking of doing it once and for all during the reno.. if not have to install in another few yrs time oso troublesome. if rain can splash into the balcony den no choice have to get windows.. even though I got no children, i got 3 guinea piggies in the balcony.. cannot get them to b wet.. hehehe
  13. ya I got the Google sketch.. hehe took very long to draw up my whole house loh.. btw, my unit is at the carpark side, but its not facing the carpark.. my blk is along the road that leads to the carpark from the main road. I am afraid that the unit will b a bit dark oso.. cos I noted that there is always no direct sunlight to my area !! btw, is ur unit is facing the carpark too?? cos was thinking of putting only grilles at balcony.. but we r afraid that rain will splash into the area and wet my guinea piggies at the balcony
  14. keke.. thanks for ur advice.. but my hubby and I not into fengshui.. I would like my sky to b lush green.. hehehe

  16. i kinda like the celery green that Nippon All-in-One offers.. I oso like Latte from Nippon All-in-One !! Thats Bryan Wong's fav colour in Home Decor Survivor 2
  17. i had an very interesting childhood.. for the first 12 years of my studies, I need not take bus!! my schools were within walking distance to my house.. and walking distance got further as I upgrade from Pri to Sec to JC. I was from Griffiths Primary and Ngee Ann Sec.. I was the Pioneer batch for that 2 schools.. as in both schools were newly built when I were enrolled in. Then later on, I proceeded with TPJC
  18. I was watching Parental GUidance from Mobtv.. then the green walls struck me! I really liked the green colour..... i told my hubby that I wan to paint the wall and ceiling leading to rooms with that green.. his reaction was !! Anyone painted green on your walls?? Any pix to show here?? I am trying to convince my hubby that it will turn out nice with the resort feeling that he prefers. well, more background info.. I was intending to have more neutral shades in the living room and dining area.. the furniture that we liked r mostly dark brown colour. The wall that is going to be green will b at the dining area, at opposite to the living room wall where the TV is. That green wall will extend to the study room and the 3 other rooms. Do u think green wall will fit in nicely to build a resort feel house?
  19. hihi~ I was thinking of painting one wall and the consponding ceiling to be bright green (the colour featured in the house of the show Parental Guidance) my hubby was now, trying to convince him that it will turn out nice.. hahaha
