I did try to talk to a HDB officer abt orphan buying the house,they told me maybe I can get another orphan to rent or buy from them.Or else too bad I can only buy resale flat. I think this is quite unfair for those orphans,it not that we buy a new flat and earn money,then go back and stay with the parents. We also Singaporean but only without parents...I nearly tears that time when I ask them abt the orphan scheme. I should have known u earlier to use this way to apply for a new flat, I believe I can see the rainbow soon..I juz bought a new place at tampines. I immediately search for a place when I reach 35! Will be going for the 1st appointment next mth,if loan approve,can get the flat in NOV( keep my fingers cross). U r so smart to email PM Lee for help! congratulation for a new chapter of your life.

If ur is those provided by HDB,,then yes. Unless u bought door from outside supplier,then maybe different. Better get a locksmith to do it for you. At first I thot very easy to fix it, but in the end I give up and ask the locksmith to do it. Locksmith about $30 for their service. Worth it lah when u see the way they do.

Me also orphan leh,they told me I cannot buy new flat,muz wait til 35 years old to buy resale flat. Nvm lah,I buy a resale flat liao. Under single scheme..

The colleague will act buyer agent and collect a full 1% frm me,the flat is found by me through property guru,I dun want to pay that kind of amount of $ when they basically do nothing. I pay my aunt a small sum of money for doing the rest of the transaction like negotiation with the owner on the second viewing and doing some document. 1% a lot leh....$4230 in my case.

I once view a flat and state I am a buyer, the agents let me view the flat( prime location)and let his colleague service me,after viewing,I told his colleague I dun need a agent as I'm asking my aunt who is a agent to do it for me. I like the unit and the COV price is ok to me. The agent won't want to commit a deal and said wait for the valuation to come out. So I told him pls call me once the valuation report comes out. After two weeks I call him,he told me the unit had been sold off. He didn't call me juz becos I didn't used his colleague as my agent. I told my aunt,she told me if i used his colleague,this agent can draw 50% from his colleague which is half percent,he gets 1 percent from the owner! No wonder his face changed when I told him I got my own agent!

I am thinking to do actually the same u mention,I already saw three units in that area doing that,so I believe it can be done. Behind the sink,put washing machine,or juz let the rubbish cute be seen in the open. And also thinking of putting the sink(brush teeth) back to the kitchren,the owner shift the sink( brush teeth) inside the toilet. I cannot imagine got to wipe the toilet mirror every time I finish bathing. 4s toilet is very small... I will be spray painting toilet wall to glossy white,floor juz leave it to original becos I scare too much scrubbing of the floor will make the floor tiles paint peel off. Toilet wall I only use sponge to wash so should be quite safe. I heard spray painting have all sort of colors,Matt or glossy as well. My tiles in the toilet is still good,it juz that the blueee...colour that I can't stand it. So no choice do the cheapo way hor....

Me pay $33K COV. That owner wants $35k,I told him the most I willing to give is $33K. The valuation is $390K. Even my aunt who is my agent told me this house is under value. She also said good buy. She is more picky than me, I said not bad,she always ask me to see more units,take ur time...even ask me to wait for a longer time becos more BTO coming up,the HDB prices will sure drop. I really cannot stand livingnin a rented place anymore! So I source this hse using property guru, go viewing myself,found this and ask her to see worth to buy anot plus negotiation with the owner on the 2nd viewing. The condition of the hse is actually not bad,close one eye can just move in. All things in good state but kitchen,room cabinet,window and grills quite old fashion...luckily air con quite new..Flooring is simple and nice too! .I bought the flat at Blk 451,( opp tampines Junior collegue)juz direct behind the new Tampines east MRT line. I believe that area will be beautify becos of the new MRT line. The problem abt that place is there is not much eatery around that area. I intend to do: 1)kitchen 2)spray paint toilet wall to glossy white 3)lighting(not false ceiling) 4)toilet doors 5)room cabinet laminate( juz change the skin)

I even saw one using those cowboy bar style,just swing in and out,maybe u will like to do that,but ppl always kaypo and peep inside anyone at home anot.

I believe becos the wall holding ur door can't be hack down. I see my neighbor who bought the recess area all take away the gate but still leave the main door there.

Me jus bought a 4s in tampines st 42. My first appointment is on September,getting keys on November! I am very excited...sorry for my 三八,me first time getting my my own home. Now renting outside ever since my parents pass away... After paying the high COV,me dun have such a high budget like you to renovate my hse, so I thought of doing the MUST do things first,then slowly build my dream house.

I just bought a flat,the thought of paying for 30 years already stressing me,cannot imagine 50 years!

I dont understd this ' move the wooden door to flush with the gate' ? U mean change the direction of the door?

If u buy the recess, how does the HDB officer check on your meter? ( the one that check how much electricity u used mthly). Unless ur parent and ur unit's meter is not placed on the recess area if not they won't stop u for buying. My frd unit also can't buy recess area while her rest of her neighbor can buy becos of that reason.

New flooring, hack away abit waste to me...
