Long weekend, made a trip to vietnam trying to getaway from our singaporean stressful life..hehe. Meanwhile secondary mission is to go there to source for some good work of art pieces. In the end, results was nothing as most of them are in USD and they are out to slaughter tourists throat. Well thru out the long weekends & past week. Met up with Carpenter & went thru all measurements & detailed compartmental design for all my built in carpentry works. Tired & worn out after 4 hrs of talking/ choosing/ deciding/ debating & thinking...was really exhausted. Thought it will be easy as ID is around, but we were wrong ..infact ID gave us so much different ideas that both of us was confused ..spoilt for choices. After discussing with his carpenter 4hrs non stopped...we gave up and decided to heed ID ideas & proposal. Choices of colors according to fengshui & the rest i let him play around with. So far his ideas & service is really quite up to standard which we were very satisfied. Never fail to reply us promptly even late i msg/ whatapps him after working hours, that gives us a good sign that he is serious on his business. Good service! Here are some pics after wet works/false ceiling works are done..rubbish cleared & changing of new floor protection papers! :good: Living area Tv feature area Simply love with the modern kitchen look! Balcony with customised 2 x stone stand for my Pi chew New paper matteress laid, awaiting for another battle against carpentry I am so much looking foward!!

Here i am back for some reno pics again. hope my blog is not getting bored, yes i am not a very good writer haha..but hope u guys do enjoy the pics & updates.. This is master with a strip of cove light against the beam. So this is the partition/false ceiling guy that worked thru the past week along with partial wet works. Been up to my unit & trying to get the perfect measurement with my ID. He is more of trying to get a better finishing product & finally after 2 hours stucked there during lunch time...i was convinced by his theory & design. haha..
-
So after a few days, most of my tiles are up & according to my ID, next step will be all false ceiling works & partition works. Everything so far seems good, very good pair of tiler he has! Cant wait for the false ceiling to go up..

Hi thunderbird, sorry for the late reply. Wasnt in town for the past 2 days. Oh ya i think the eletrician did charge me for those concealing works. As according to my ID, charges per point of socket with & without is different. But all in all i was given a lump sum for the whole eletrical works. Hope this helps..if u need any more info do let me know. cheers

haha..im not trying to show this sexy butt, just wanna show this 80cm x 80cm white creamy homogenous floor tiles that ID ordered tp match my current living/dining. As ive hacked down certain part of the kitchen wall thus needed some of this to be replaced with my existing tiles. So this is the Shifu of the tiler, haha funny guy he is. Think he is from malaysia and have been working in SG for many years. Bought him & some of his workers chicken rice for lunch..probably wanna make sure he does a gd job ! haha pray hard While one guy was applying the wall, another one was cutting some tiles. Kitchen floor tiles size is 60cm x 30cm. Rustically grained with dash of silver color.

Hi again, back for more updates on my tiling work progress straight after the 1st phase of eletrical works. All this tiles was choosen by ID & importantly color wise i would say it matches well & do compliment the whole house color scheme. These are some pics that i uploaded..pls enjoy kitchen wall tiles (silverish tone with textured lines) Kitchen wall after applying some funny color looking kinda slimy cement before overlaying of the tiles. Balcony tiles. This is 1 of my favorite tiles out of the ones that we have choosen, i love the odd size and natural rustic looking woody feel. Balcony homogenous (every piece of it comes in different grains & tone which makes it look like chengai outdoor wooden decking) Btw after a comparison, this tile is much cheaper than decking up the whole balcony using chengai or some outdoor wooden ply products.

So how messy can cables be? hehe..but good to know most of my areas are now cabled with new sets of wirings & lighting points. This is the art work of concealing a double socket! So they do really hack.. Part of concealing the wall powerpoints. When i was there, they were cutting out the seams & trying to conceal all the wires cables into this small longkang..interesting but its quite a tedious process My kid's room with all the lighting points Bumpzz..here again. Updating & sharing some pics from the continuation of after hacked results & starting of eletrical works & also wet works. Called up ID and asked him to place some coins at kitchen before he cement the whole floor..fengshui says its good

Oh good luck to ur reno! mine is blk 1 ..u ?

Eletrical workers (on site meeting day) Cement/water proofing/ building materials waiting to be uploaded upz..so after 3 days of battling those hardy walls & built in furnitures. The next step will be eletrical & wet works, here are some pics of the arrival of goods that were placed outside the main entrance of the apartment waiting for them to upload... So after hacking down the whole unit, met up with my ID & his eletrician. After running thru all the points them, eletrician quoted me about $3.7k for almost 60 new light points, 4 SCVs, Data points, powerpoints & installation of all lights will be included as well. Got the quotation at 3700/- but ID suggested a goodwill discount from him and we sealed it at $3500 flat. According to this young malaysian chap (eletrician) was told that my has a full false ceiling for whole unit & thus explained my costs incurred for eletrical. Agreed finally and now im waiting for him to start his scope of work, which takes about 3 days again for 1st phase of concealed wirings. Meawhile lets sidetrack a little, i forgot to mentioned that i've choosen 3 sets of tiles from tiles shop hafary. Think they are quite a big organisation & some of their premium range are really niceeee...but expensive. Our's were quite easy as before we reach there, my ID was already there sorting out some tiles for us to choose and having said that it makes me & my wife jobs easier ..haha. 3 sets were kitchen floor kitchen wall balcony tiles. the tiles we chose were interesting...haha bling bling again! haha..please stay tuned for more PEEKStures...

Haha good question, both common/master barred. Only left with the kitchen yard bathroom.
-
Hi MamaO, i opted for both sides as my kitchen is relatively small in size. ID suggested both sides & insisted using tempered glass! Hope this helps...

Again, all hacked carpentry were placed near the dining, waiting to be cleared by another set of worker, systematic flow & making use of the lift interval time. The hacker foreman is really technical & fast.. This is one of his foreman during the hacking stage! Dunno what he is touching..lol. kitchen seems melted! Even the common/master bathroom are barred from any usage by his workers! haha ..looks like this ID is not easy to handle by his own sets of sub cons & workers...haha, he is quite strict towards his workers from what i see, well i guess which is a good thing.
-
According to my ID all fines will be deducted from my agreement, haha..i was impressed when he himself & his workers are not allowed to SMOKE while during reno! Thats something im quite happy about it. Was told that hacking works will take about 4 x full day or maximum 5, thats because i do have lotsa carpentry to clear & management approval time of works is only from 930am -430am strictly. But end of day 3, i saw 5 of his men started to clear all the debris & all the dismantled items. I was amazed but his hacker speed.

Yes the ex owners did a good job i must comment! Infact they spent quite alot too, my current ID told me at least easily $60k for a new condo with full wall coverings, & conceptually the theme looks abit shanghai oriental look. My wife felt that it looks more like some modern traditional TCM clinic. haha...well due to my fengshui requirements, i will have to hack & redo, reposition lastly revamp a new look which me & my wife wanted badly..thats why we decided we let the ID handle our case. Even the kitchen was well maintained by the previous owner, but too bad the hood/hob positioning must favour our fengshui readings. Understanding kitchen is considered one of the heaviest costs in household reno, we will try to keep the kid's room simple but to use the costs on my kitchen.
-
Yes ..LOL indeed we ve got a nice view. But downside its only for a short while. I can only enjoy for the 1st 2 years, new high rise condos are coming up soon..and beside my block they gonna have 1 which owns about 40storeys!!

Part 2 of the magical Interior software results..infact, i was shocked not more on the design but more towards the Interior software & i was like "OMG, this is a very gd software" haha! Hope u guys enjoy reading...all comments welcome! Foyer area (cant really tell what is the black wall like, but on the samples that my ID showed us, its actually some wall effects with shiny crystal bits..thus ID promised us a bling bling foyer, haha..my wife was like :dribble:

Living room Part of kitchen My son bedroom My dining area/altar 2nd view of living Back! This time round after confirming my ID contract & renovation items, my ID has finally produce his work on my new home. 3D pictures & sketch for me & my wife to visual. Or i can comment is we were really :yamseng: that not too long after paying him my 1st deposit confirmation i do get to see his hard work on my home! Afterall there are of course some minor changes, but overall both of us are quite :D with his design & plannings. For now i will give him a thumbs up on his 1st stage of perspective for transforming my fengshui restricted place to something which me & my wife really like it alot..

Hi guys i am back with more Before Reno pics. This is quite a view of a few areas. Took all this pics, while the fengshui master was explaning the QI/YIN & YANG as how it should flowwwww from one place to another. Haha..interesting facts. Thanks & all comments are welcome...

Hi here is the look at on the proposed layout! fengshui included...sighh Well, after much dings & dongs with my fengshui master & ID proposal..finally me & my wife decided on this layout given by my ID & also approved by my fengshui master. Not much on the living & dining just that i intend to have my altar infront of my main foyer area..which was told that altar must either face main door or balcony. Well, i do have a very big altar thus ID suggested a nice feature wall along my whole foyer wall to blend in with my super BIG altar which gonna sit just facing my main door..! hehe.. I plan to to do some invisible grills...anyone have gd/bad experience on it ? can share ?

Thanks Casa for moltivating me to upload more pics!
