Anyone can give advice? Is such a big chip normal for aircon installation? Thanks in advance.

I haven't shift in yet and the aircon contractors chipped off a noticeable part (1-2cm) of the wall tile when they are drilling to enlarge the hole for the pipe. They are claiming it to be normal, while my contractor say it shouldn't happen if they had used a small drill first followed by the big one. Anyone can advise?
