the irony part is i chose them because james and me were acquaintance and he had joined the company then, in fact i was his 1st customer! then somehow along the way, my project was taken over by alvin, then towards the end of the project when alvin left the company (and after many boos boos) james came back into the picture so, if you think engaging someone you know to handle your reno project is an advantage, think again chances are, you will never want to see this person again

towards the end of the project, we were like just want to get these people out of our life. in fact, the payment was collected by alvin and that was the last i saw or heard from him. guess he was just as happy to see the last of me! ya, we should have hold the payment, haizzzz...... painful experience

oh ya.... forgot to add, when all these were conveyed to my then designer, alvin. he only replied a sms to me: let it go lah probably got 'bigger fish' on hand, no time for 'ex-customers' liao

been a long time. updates: stayed in for about 2 months. within these 2 months, contractors still coming in to touch up and rectify defects (if not made worse). the painters were literally being thrown out of my house by me! took 2 hours just to lay newspaper around the house, and mind you, it's only touch up, the painting has been done. the saga happened when the painter upset the whole pot of paint on my laminated staircase! and then dripping it all the way to the bathroom the electrician also made a big boo boo, ceiling fans not working well, got sound. called in crestar agent to service, it was only then that we got to know, the screws and light holder were not screwed in at all, just fixed in place, hence when fan started whirling, sound can be heard. in fact the crestar agent says its only a matter of time that the light bulbs will come off! can u believe it??? anyway, some of the spaces in between the tiles were not filled with cement, so tiling boss came and did it a couple of weekends ago, and yesterday the same spot that was rectified, the tiles 'popped'! how bad can it be??? my earlier designer- alvin, have not heard of him for the longest time even before handover. now taken over by another designer, james. which is worst? to have a contractor who do not rectify your defects or to have someone who keep rectifying and u keep cleaning up? lost, worst when u have young children at home. my verdict: LUCK PLAYS A BIG PART IN SEARCH FOR ID. good luck to all whole are still searching

Today doing installation of lights, fix all doors, open net and chemical washing

at least the laminates and stairs are done, so.....i really dunno. let's see whether i will be in for a surprise by end of today marble, so lucky ive never seen so many workers in my unit before
-
I really dunno whether my ID has any issues with his contractors but seems like things are not within his control/scrutiny. The committed duration was 1 month flat with no promises on carpentry, carpentry will be delayed by 1 week or so. But looks like the rest of the stuff apart from carpentry oso half past six more pics coming up....

really worried, as of yesterday, this is the current state of my place and moving in this friday. Unless superman appear, otherwise
-
but cleong, ive been following ur thread, nice house u've got! worth it after the frustrations lah.

yes, always check even if you think your ID is reliable. bound to have blind spots. masonary and wetworks all in drips and draps, box up not complete, toiletries and toilet bowls not up yet. they really do not see my urgency. my movers will move all stuff in this friday. and because of the carpentry not ready, i cant get agent to mount my TV. so ID says he can mount for me, but i really doubt getting a contractor to do rather than agent? in short, headache, big time!

not to mention all the little defects that have yet to be put right. with so many 'off days', i'll be lucky if the cleaning takes place at all before we move in.
-
i would say our expectations are realistic, no design, no frills. just our requirements. basically our discussion will always be, this row of cupboards to be where and the color of the laminates to be this. and even paint colors we leave it to our ID, our only requirement is we need to move in by end of this month so we did very minimal and only things we need. all these were confirmed and penned in agreement in april, but now all carpentry works will be delayed, so the situation will be we move in even when then carpenter are doing their works! mothers with young toddlers and doing housework will view this as a complete nightmare.

yes, that is our suspicions too, they are taking in more cases than they can swallow. electrician kept asking me why is it that the lights are not sent over for installation yet, another sign of poor coordination. and the poor electrician actually made 2 wasted trips to our unit. toilet accessories were sent on a day when 'no workers' were around, if not for the fact that my hubby happens to be up there, i wonder are they going to leave all the toilet bowls etc along the corridor??? my ID actually got the cheek to says if i were to check on the works every day, it is difficult for him to carry out his job. What logic is that? if he was reliable enough, i wont need to go to all these trouble with 2 young toddlers in tow and not to mention the waiting game. my meeting with him was always a long waiting game, the last which happened on saturday, we agreed to meet between 3pm - 4pm at my unit, we were there at 3pm. waited till 4.45pm, called and no answer. finally my hubby called him using his hp and he answered, so is he avoiding my calls or wat? best thing is, he says he's with his son at wild wild wet and forgotten abt the meeting! right now, i just want the handover to be over quickly and keeping my fingers crossed that there will not be defects. i want them out of my life.
