  8. Ya, usually Reno ID's Marketers will create the 'wants' in consumer's purchasing decision. Which in turn, will make you think "Oh, that is what i want" So have to consider carefully. Cheers, Melissa.

  12. U believe its only 5-8%?? Some charges higher and use inferior quality, which you will only know few years later.
  13. Do not get an ID, unless you want swee swee designs. Approach a main contractor, which will coordinates for you. Even if you have some concepts/designs on mind, tell the main contractor and he will be able to do it. In my case, the main-con will arrange a meetup with the carpenter he works with and i will tell the carpenter what design i want for my kitchen, built-in wardrobe etc. Cheers, Merry Xmas! Have fun with your renovation
  14. Firstly, where is your WM located? inside the toilet or outside the toilet? Mine: WM situated just outside the toilet, so the draining of water is inside the toilet. The contracter suggested the draining into the drainage hole inside the toilet using PVC pipe connection, but we eliminated the pvc pipe so that we can 'recycle' the draining water. Usually the draining is thru the toilet drainage hole instead of kitchen sink's, both the case for my parents and my parents-in-law.
  15. Haha ya, with those fightings it will scare away the cockroaches. Seriously, small cockroaches can be found in the kitchen of my parents-inlaw place. They placed pandan leaves in the drawers, cabinets etc... We see lesser cockroaches, but as long as my parents-inlaw still have the habit of keeping used/dirty plastic bags to recycle, the problem will not be solved. Cheers.
  16. Hi Hwoha, Have you tried going to your MP (meet the people session)? Initially i had problem with the upper floor toilet repair, HDB cited "Goodwill repair must be approve by the MP, and will not be so soon due to the procedure involved." It was then i wrote an email to my area's MP, as my husband and i are having night class on every thursday night which clashese with the MP session and cannot attend. But we were prepared to skip class if there are no email response from the MP. Surprisely, she (or her assistant) replied the following day (fast response), soon after that the HDB contacted me and discuss about my problem. Maybe you can try my method. Wish you luck! Cheers.
  17. Ever since i have a dog at home, no more Cockroaches at home.. Initially dead cockroaches can be found but now only once a while dead cockroach will appear. I have seen my dog catching it... Haha. Cheers.
  18. Hi all, just to share. I have purchased a repo flat from HDB, renovating now and it is less than 20yrs. When we first collected our keys in Sept, we found out that the MBR toilet wall had leakage due to the waterproofing on the upper floor. HDB fixed the upper floor toilet's (both), and we do not have to pay a single cent. What is provided to us: -Toilet and kitchen wall & floor tiles -Re-con room + store doors(good condition) -poor paint workmanship The HDB supervisor incharge of my area told me that the following must be given to us in new condition: -New toilet bowls and basins -New windows (no grills) -New main door and gate + new locks (old style) -New letterbox lock Finally, the repair work of the upper floor toilet's delayed my whole renovation schedule but it was worthwhile. Cheers, Melissa.
  19. I see... cos my mum did not use any stacking kit (dryer was added on at a later stage), therefore i thought this caused the noise from the washer. Thanks.
  20. Hi Centra, Did you use the stacking kit? The sales person said he will provide FOC stacking kit. Thanks
  21. Hi, I have contacted my 1st mover, the surveyor will go to my house and quote this thursday. Currently we are living with our parents, therefore there is only 1 roomful of items which includes bedframe, mattress, Tv console etc. We will be moving across the street. The main concern is that our new home will not be on lift level, anyone can advise what is the usual rate for 2 levels down? Thanks. Regards, Mel.
  22. My mum stack her vented dryer on top of her washer for years, so far no problem but her's is vented dryer. Im going to get a condenser dryer to stack on top of my washer, hopefully it will be good as well. Should not be an issue, since most of the consumers stacked dryer on top of washer. Cheers.
  23. Just becos its distributed by Slumberland does not mean the quality is good. For this price range, i doubt the quality. Might as well get a normal brand mattress. Just my opinion.
  24. Queen size $338 plus delivery, should left you sufficient $ for a bedframe. http://www.groupon.sg/deals/shopping/four-star-industries/716561840?utm_source=mashup&utm_medium=cp_2635103&utm_campaign=alldeals
