  1. hi fellow strathmore green neighbour haha i collected my keys in june and i have not even started renovation! hopefully able to start in 2 weeks time. looking forward to see updates of your reno!
  2. thanks for sharing! given me some ideas on how I could use the recess area in the MBR saw your sofa ytd at wynn, very high head rest!!
  3. looking great! thanks for sharing! really curious to see how you did up your MBR, as i remember from your layout that your bed is at the recess area instead of the flat wall. i still cant figure out how to configure my MBR due to the really tiny space!
  4. i'm also thinking of getting a bike stand to house my bikes, where did you put your stand? can't seem to find the space in our tiny layout!
  5. your place is looking good, esp the carpentry! you're probably gonna move in soon after 7th month?
  6. Hi fellow strathmore greenie same batch of SOBF as you, last few to select the flats too hehe how's the progress so far?
  7. still ongoing, taking forever to rectify the windows fully... your progress looks really good! how's the workmanship so far?
  8. Hi itsybits Been quietly watching your reno progress since day one. Thanks for all the inspiring thoughts and educational bits that you've so generously given to your readers! Can you PM me Mr K's contact details? Hoping to get a quotation from him for my new Strathmore flat, thanks!
  9. thanks for sharing, really good progress!
  10. sure no problem! but sot so soon, still waiting for HDB to finish rectifying our windows! likely i'll be using electric heater. how about you?
  11. good to know that your rectification is finally completed! mine just started only! i'm on the 3rd floor, likely directly below you seeing the window pics that you posted, same view just much lower haha looking forward to see your reno progress!
  12. You're going to do an overlay of the tiles for both kitchen and bathroom? I am also toying with this idea, but i am concerned that the space will be even smaller, esp the bathroom, even though it may just be a couple of centimeters or so. Haha i wish i have more cash to spare to do a really good reno.. @yokechye: likely will choose conventional electric heaters, cos we dont intend to have PUB gas in our house even for cooking (my wife says it's safer haha). No i haven't found a contractor yet. will likely start asking for quotations this weekend already. i'm just concerned that hdb may take a long time to finish rectifying the defects as well as do the leveling of the floor. i heard from my wife's colleague that hdb took 3 months to finish rectifying the defects in his house! I was told to keep calling to push them to take action or they might sit on it for a long time.
  13. haha we have paid at least half a million dollars for the flat, and since HDB prides itself to provide "quality standards", they'd better make sure that they really live up to their self-proclaimed name! My wife and I are really very upset by the horrible quality of our flat. Even our front door is of a totally different color tone than others, and the bathroom mosaic tiles are cracked! And the toilet bowl interior are stained with unidentified brown stains. These are just the tip of the iceberg! We are staying at 61B, 4-room, got it from the recent SOBF exercise last year, how about you?
  14. Hi YokeChye I am a fellow Strathmore Greennie! I just received my keys last week, and I realised that there were NUMEROUS defects too! Even the mosaic tiles in the bathroom are cracked! Similar to yours, my top windows are also having the similar problem. Thanks so much for sharing, I am going to pre-emp their poor quality control, and will take leave to be personally there when the contractors come to rectify the problems! Has HDB resolved the problem for you yet?
