All Tanglin Halt Road Neighbours! Report In Here!
redbottle replied to zirhk3355's topic in District 01, 02 ,03, 04, 05
hi... sorry to hijack this thread, but i desperately need some advice from owners of new HDB flats with concealed wiring... btw, i'm from the new jalan membina estate... i had also posted this question as a new topic in renotalk, but i thought i could get faster replies if i post it again here... for those doing L-box, do u see exposed electrical trunking coming out from the main circuit box to the L-box and also from the switch point to the L-box??? something like this: i thot HDB already give us concealed electrical wiring, so dun need to have exposed electrical trunking... i asked the contractor and electrician why got exposed trunking? they both said, no choice, cos safer to tap direct from main circuit box... if using the existing lighting point, the large number of downlights (i have 12) may cause power tripping... also, original HDB concealed wiring is 1 wire to 1 switch, so if i split the 12 downlights into 4 groups of 3 downlights, i need 4 wires, so cannot use the conceal wiring anymore and must do exposed trunking for these wires... somehow i feel quite skeptical... is there a way to use the existing concealed wiring, and not have the exposed electrical trunking??? pls help! -
the wiring for the light box is done, but now there are exposed electrical trunking!!! i asked the ID and electrician why got exposed trunking? they both said, no choice, cos safer to tap direct from main circuit box... if using the existing lighting point, the large number of downlights (i have 12) may cause power tripping... also, original HDB concealed wiring is 1 wire to 1 switch, so if i split the 12 downlights into 4 groups of 3, i need 4 wires, so cannot use the conceal wiring anymore and must do exposed trunking for these wires... somehow i feel quite skeptical... is there a way to use the existing concealed wiring, and not have the exposed electrical trunking??? pls help!!! !! !!

u mean safra at mount faber??? wow!
-
yes, separate cost for corian and cabinet... $140 pfr for corian only... another $100 pfr for the cabinet....
-
it was from an ID...
-
i was quoted $140 pfr for corian... i also dun know how to differentiate cresto and corian... maybe ask ur ID for the invoice from the corian supplier??

i bought one dozen of E27 20W round-shaped downlight at $16 each... i think the PLC + magnetic ballast type is more expensive, minimum $20... i prefer the E27 type cos no flicker, no humming sound from the ballast, instant startup, easy to change... but the bad points are that E27 bulb's lifespan is shorter, about 1 year, compared with the PLC type which can last abt 2years... E27 bulb is also abt $1 more expensive than PLC bulb... btw, i saw at HomeFix that Philips is selling LED E27 bulbs... something like this... may get one or two to try the effect

acrylic is the name of type of material... there are many brands for this material, the most expensive is Corian and it is 100% acrylic... the cheaper brands like Cresto is a mixture of acrylic and ester, and is less durable than the 100% acrylic type...

anyone getting the mit elec non-invertor multi-split MUX-3B20?? have called natural cool, hong tar, all best... all no stock on this modell!!
-
for system 4 aircon, i think only mit elec and daikin can go thru... for system 3 and below, most brands can go thru, except panasonic...
-
there are a few posts earlier abt this issue... the max height of the compressor allowed is 720cm... but u can saw off the horizontal bar of the window frame like what Vince did and any compressor can go thru...
-
i like 772 becos the overall size is smaller than 773... my available table top space is already v small, so a smaller hob can give me more free worktop space... furthermore, i think the centre fire point is not useful, too close to the bigger fire point...
-
hi gladysbeyond! i'm considering buying the 772 also....did u get the glass or stainless steel 772??? how much is it and from where?? thanks!
-
hi yang guo... if using solid surface worktop, i think there may be a problem... cos the price of the solid surface is quoted by per foot run (usually $70-100 pfr) and the max allowable worktop depth plus the backsplash height is 75cm... if greater than that, most likely gotta pay extra... best to check with ur contractor... !!
-
hi vince?? how did u break the window frame?? did u use a hammer to whack the window frame? were the aircon installers with u when u broke the frame?? i guess they must be shocked! haha...

I had asked my HDB TO abt the ventilating fan in toilet... he said no problem, can install... if need to change the toilet window to accommodate the fan, then must get a BCA window contractor and apply a permit... better to ask HDB direct... dun rely too much on what ID said... -
hi vincedelfino! wow! how did u do that?? can show some photos?? i wanted to get the toshiba one also, but i thought no way to get it to the aircon ledge... thanks for the tip!

how aboutt kitchen cabinet base? was it done?
-
i've not installed aircon yet... now considering Mit Electric MXY-4A28 (840 (W) x 330(D) x 710)... size is just slightly shorter than the window so should be ok... price range from $3550 to $3800 depending on who is the dealer... the list of authorized dealers here http://www.mitsubishielectric.com.sg/produ...al_where_to_buy inverter system 4 that cannot go thru' aircon ledge window: Toshiba RAS-4M30YACV (795H x 900W x 320H) Hitachi RAM72Q

the economics aside, perhaps could consider the environmental impact and do our bit to save the earth ... aircons use either the R410A or the R22 refrigerant... the R410A refrigerant does not attack our precious ozone layer whereas R22 refrigerant is an ozone-depleting substance... most, but not all, inverters use R410A refrigerant... a few daikin inverters use R22 e.g. 4MKD75DVM... most, but not all, non-inverters use R22 refrigerant... a few mitsubishi electric non-inverters use R410A e.g. MUX-4B26VB... indeed, R410A aircons are more expensive than R22 aircons... well, just to encourage everyone to consider the environmental impact together with the economics

it's actually not mandatory that the contractor/ID be accredited under RADAC... the only mandatory requirement is to be registered under HDB... accreditations by RADAC, HBAY, CASETRUST etc are optional...

i was thinking can sell to 2nd hand stainless steel dealers... think can worth quite a bit of money... recently reported in news of pple stealing stainless steel stuffs like railings etc from public areas to sell..
-
