No matter what trend, as long as both of you are comfortable living in there and can face the design 5 - 10 yrs down the road, y bother whether the design is in or not in? I think there's a new rule for agent, they can't represent both seller and buyer because there will be conflict of interest. By right if you are direct buyer, you don't even need to pay that 1% commission to the seller agent because he is representing seller.
