  1. My Blanco Pleon 8 Kitchen Sink Now I'm don't should I change the color of the sink to match my hobs then change my counter top to match both.
  2. My contractor need me to confirm the dimension of the hood, hobs, oven etc by this week. Have waited for Gain City to call me on the Electrolux package but didn't. Ended up I called Harvey Norman and they can give me assurance, thus rushed down to MW right after work to buy the appliances.
  3. The storage heater is $245. I did not really compare price because no time to search around so just bought it together with the sink.
  4. Today, went to new house to 'Dong Tu', still very confused, so many people giving different procedures. Just do whatever being taught, anyway I think its just a symbolic ritual. Yesterday went to Hoe Kee at Genting Lane, so crowded. The sales simply no time to explain to us on the products but they are quite friendly though. We settled for a Blanco sink, Blanco kitchen faucet and Joven 25 litres storage heater, total damaged $800.
  5. This week need to finalize the quote, revised 3rd time already, each time the budget goes up. I think after the renovation, I can't convince my hubby to move house again. Things that need to buy still alot: Johnson Suisse w/c & wash basin Electrolux hood, hob & oven package Kitchen sink & tap Lightings Toilet accessories Storage heater Money Money Money,Must be Funny, In the rich man's world....
  6. What brands are they carrying and what's the manufacturing origin? The deal looks good but just afraid the products are made from China. I'm also looking for WC n basin now.
  7. Accire, I know how tedious is it to maintain laminated flooring and I'm prepared. Its just that I don't know if the price I'm paying is it value for money. Anyway, they only claimed scratch resistance, water resistance.
  8. Selection of floor tiles This is a very energy wasting project. Went to Ah Hood Road there viewed 4 shops for the tiles, alot tiles, alot of colours, alot of textures and alot of people. Initially, I thought I know what I'm looking for but after seeing so many tiles, I got confused and become indecisive. Spent nearly 3 hrs there still can't made up my mind. After that, went to Kronotex showroom. The budget for the laminated flooring (12mm, AC5) has been decided not exceeding 3k but the series which I like cost about $9/psf and still I need to add extra skirting to my living room which cost me $2.50/psf. Total is more than 3.2K. I'm still discussing with hubby if we really want to go for it. Side note: I brought back their samples, did a scratch test on it, the laminated board can get scratches and my bro is trying to convince me that laminated flooring is not lasting because of its composite. How? Should I still consider this option? Have thought of using wood tiles but still despite the tiles look and feel like real laminated flooring but the grout can be ugly and also its cold, you can never get the 'warm' feel from wood.
  9. Kitchen Under the kitchen sink, rubbish bin also never clear Storeroom
  10. Finally, I have photos to show. Keys collected on 29th Oct, supposed to do final inspection with the seller before the collection but because I'm having exams so task my hubby to do inspection who knows the seller's agent not free so handover without inspection. Yesterday took leave to settle the requirements with contractor and also went to view tiles, damned tiring. But the worse is the 'shock' which my seller left for me. Very pissed, when I hand over my own flat I make sure the house is EMPTY before completion, and now this is what I get. Let the photos do the talking. Living Hall Smoke detector in living, there is another one in kitchen. Curtains not removed
  11. Borrow this thread. Anyone used the new Nippon Momento Paint? From the catalog it looks quite nice, got wall paper effect. I'm wondering if it worth asking contractor to paint it or we paint ourselves. Will it look funny?
  12. Normal renovation takes about min. 6 - 8 weeks. As for furniture, usually they can keep for 3mths, electrical no need buy so early because every now and then sure got sale and new technology keep changing, usually they can keep for 1 - 2mths, usually sale items they would want you to collect earlier. The word 'SALE' can dragged for many mths, since 6 mths ago I have been seeing the same promotion going on just from different companies. I suggest you do some research first on the items you want to buy, if there's really a good deal then you might consider grabbing them but if your design not finalized yet, don't buy them because its good deal end up you spend even more time, money and effort to change the items to your favor. Till today, I only bought mattress and rain shower because more or less they are standard. The rest I just keep a look out and wait for the 'SALE' again. Luckily I did not commit in the hobs too early because of the size of my kitchen, I can't go for 90cm hobs but only not more than 75cm. enjoy the first time.
  13. Seriously all the packages which ID firms offer are the very very very basic quotes. For simple resale flat, those basic quotes already more than 30K and that's excluding electrical and aircon. Mine also around 55K including renovation and furnishing, hopefully we don't exceed 60K, else need to eat grass already. HDB 3 room flat with 60K reno......
  14. So....is it normal. Anyway, we decided to go with what we wanted. Now waiting for final quote and then the keys and then can start renovation.
  15. Hi Aron, What's the difference between Thermal flex and Armaflex beside different branding. Which is a better quality?
  16. Nice sofa and the price also I hardly find nice sofa with this kind of pricing, some easily more than $1500 and not that fantastic. I must go Hommage to see.
  17. Remember to post more photos. I'm also waiting for my keys on 29th Oct, hopefully can start Reno on 5th Nov.
  18. Exams coming this Sunday, still not prepare yet. Yesterday went over to my new house with a contractor to do site measurement. Have not collect keys yet, so have to trouble seller agent to meet us. Initially we thought owner will still keep the SP service since we still have a week before completion, who knows, complete darkness. No choice but to use our HP flash light to see. Staying at the top floor is not gd for water pressure, contractor said that my rain shower will become rain drizzle, so it's either I fix a booster or change the water pipe. Received the quotation today, seriously I did not know that overhauled a 3room flat can cost so much. But, it's not because the contractor chop my head but its my requirements and products which I requested. Hubby saw the quote also start to nag at me, we thinking we seriously need to work out again. If I'm going to calculate, renovation + furnishing total damaged = 50k. Haha, at first my friend renovated his flat at 56k, I thought he kana chopped but now I think it become the market rate.
  19. 8 years ago, I bought Dunlopillo @ $1099 queen size normal type but due to weight difference for both size, need to rotate the mattress occasionally.
  20. I can understand how you feel. Nobody will want to spend on a house where there were history behind it, especially hide it on purpose. If the history was made known upfront, I think its from both willing parties. I think if you really can't accept it, its either to move somewhere then once reached MOP then sell it away. Else, let it go, think of the positive side n move on.
  21. I agreed. I think ID should at least co-ordinate with their contractor instead wasting customer's time. I think its normal for people to get pissed off, especially if you need to take a day off just to cater to their timing. This is bad.
  22. Hi Cynta, I think you should engage a contractor to do your house because since you know what are your requirements. ID don't come cheap anyway they just give ideas but the job mostly done by contractor.
