Hi, is item 1 still available?

Hi guys, Wondering if anyone has come across this situation before. I bought a resale appt and found two light fixtures without bulbs in them. Thinking the ex-owners were too lazy to replace, I just went along to buy the necessary bulbs to set it up. However, on screwing in the bulb (those philip twister type), I started to notice that there is actually current running thru the bulb! Not a constant current but a plusing type. kind of like flickering but at a regular interval roughly 1-2 secs apart. Also, the current seems to be very small cuz the entire bulb does not like up, just a faint pluse which is not even detectable should I put on the light cover. I'm suspecting that its a cause of wrong wiring but I don't know where to start looking for the problem. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi LouiseBrown, How old was your project when the repairs were honoured by the developer? Mine is only 7 yrs old and the developer claims that its out of warranty so they are not responsible!! Even the MCST also hopeless, saying that if the developer says so, they also cannot do anything...

hi guys, Sorry for dragging up an old thread. The recent downpours have caused serious damage to my walls and even floorboards. I have two walls with cracks that can be seen both inside and outside the house and water can be seen dripping out from these cracks. I also have another wall where there is no sign of cracks inside and out but water bubbles are forming behind the coat of paint plus my pakka floor shows sign of water damage. I've gotten in a self-proclaimed water specialist (actually he was doing my reno half way when this happened) and he said that the last case was due to bad quality window + shoddy work done fixing it up. He's recommending to do pressure grout only on the inside to fix the problem (likewise for the other two cracks, only do inside not outside). He said this is a permanent solution but only willing to give 1 year warranty and on the treated area some more. Cost is also not cheap at $6000 for repair to the 3 areas. Anyone has a reliable contractor to recommend so that I can get a 2nd opinion? Also, please feel free to share your thoughts on this.

actually, i din really shop around but the couple of shops I went to all recommended Fujioh. Apparently Fujioh is having some promo now which is supposed to be quite attractive. Also, I'm sick and tired of my weak and useless elba hood which leaves my kitchen cabinets and floor all oily and sticky. Based on what the salesman said, the Fujioh hood was tested by PSB and can successfully absorb up to 83% of the greese and smoke!

I've been using a basic elba front loader for the last 6yrs. quite often overloaded but still going strong. highly recommended. I am now sourcing for a new one for my new home and will be getting the bosch 20260. more advanced than my elba and has gotten quite a few nods from forumers. best price quoted so far is $980 from Hong Liang. You may want to consider this too if you have the budget.

Hi all, I'm shopping for a fridge for my new house and have come across these two models from Hitachi. Had preferred something more flashy but my kitchen can only accomodate fridge with depth less than 680mm. According to the NEA website, the green rating for the models are 1 and 2 respectively. Don't know why they are so bad... Anyone has comments on them?

I've been using a Conti washer for the last 4 years. Not sure about likes but quite a few dislikes: 1) washing time - over 1.5hrs for NORMAL wash! thats a long long time when you have to do 2 loads in a day! 2) cleaniness - this is subjective. There has been more than 1 occasion when my clothes came out the way it went in - folded! Not sure how clean it can be in such a state! well, on the bright side, it sure is gentle on my clothes! 3) $$ savings - I've not done any serious analysis here but given that it takes longer to wash plus uses high power heater AND electricity cost MORE than water, is it really more $$ savings than a top loader? Really thinking of switching to a top loader for the next upgrade...
