One word: Gorgeous! Can these tiles be washed as with other kitchen tiles?
-
It's actually very exciting to see your house being transformed, little by little, day by day. Believe our new place would be very comfortable for us to 'nua'. Sharing our fabric sofa purchased for the house. Thinking of covering it in full turquoise fabric. So my living room furniture would be in 2 main colours: white and turquoise.

Day 13 Kitchen Flooring done though not much can be seen as the workers had placed huge pieces of cardboard to protect the tiles. Glad we chose the lighter shade of grey for the floor tiles as it seems to brighten up the kitchen. If we had stuck with the darker shade of grey, I believe the kitchen may look dark. Kerb for Kitchen cabinets are also completed. Toilet more or less finished (only left with the door kerb). Plumber had also shifted the water pipe closer to the wall.

Tiler also drilled holes for the electrical cables and water pipes to pass through. For the electrical cables (Not sure if this is too small)??? For the water pipes? Notice that there are some imperfections for the tile joined at the corner of the door due to the tiler's miscalculations. Hb was not too satisfied with that area but we decided this is something we can live with (hopefully). This is because the other alternative is for the tiler to remove the earlier tiles he has laid and to retile them again!! Hopefully when the white grout is pasted over it, the line would be less obvious.

Day 12 Kitchen tiling is comnpleted. This includes the little strip near my full-height cabinet. As you can see, the hole for the refuse chute has been replaced by a flat steel chute cover. Compared to the bulky version that was there before renovation, this is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. 2 sides of the bathroom tiles are up. Somehow, all the tiles look the same but then not quite the same . This tile has slight silvery lines running horizontally across the tiles. Close-up of the tile Compare this with the close-up of the toilet tile.

The plumber has also shifted the inlet water pipe close to the wall (the short pipe). Previously the pipe is where the tap is situated, resulting in a huge box-up. The difference in distance is approximately 30 cm. Thanks to the plumber we can have more storage in our kichen cabinet. Also managed to lower the vent pipe to minimise obstruction. If you remember, it previously looked like this and was slightly below knee height but now it's slightly less than 10 cm: As a result the vent pipe in the toilet looks less obtrusive as well.

Day 9 to Day 11 Wet works are still continuing. Tiling works seem to be the most time-consuming for all renovation. Am using flickr using of the usual photobucket as photobucket is down. As you can see the walls for the kitchen are slowly being tiled. I would say close to 2/3 of kitchen walls are done. A flat rubbich chute would be installed here. Wall tiles in toilet done. Some issues initially with the tiling in the toilet itself. As you can see, the tiles at the back of the appears lopsided; i.e. the tile on the left are bigger than the tiles on the right. We gave this feedback to Orange and she managed to get the tiler to rectify this the next day. It now looks like this Better right? It now looks like the 3d drawing she gave us! By the way the tiles are white, but when photographed, it gives an interesting checkered effect. This tile was selected by Orange.

Love the colours and the design of your toilet. The toilet doors are also very unique. May I know what material it is made of?

Hi san20sg, I can understand the frustration you have. Having to cope with pregnancy and reno at the same time is no joke. If possible, try to take things one step at a time and don't overstress yourself. Cheerios and looking forward to seeing your completed house soon.

Wah ffdog your reno is progressing really quickly. When is the targetted date of completion?
