Online Shopping (handtowel) Whenever i browse through websites for home and decorations ideas, those that attract my attention are not those with nice interior, but it's those who uses decorations and furniture to add colours to their home and also those who create and display their own collections. I realise that even minor things like soap dispenser, hand towels and types of jars used would affect the "look" of the house. Been looking around online for nice and not too expensive household stuff cum decorations...ranging from clocks, hand towels, soap dispenser, glass jar, plants, art etc. Found this two hand towel which I thought are quite nice looking. One for the kitchen and one for MBR bathroom. Beside serving the purpose of drying our hands, i also use them as part of my "decorations" Chef Hand Towel With Black Crocheted Top Bees And Beehive Hand Towel With Cafe Brown Crocheted Top Been eyeing on a clock that's handpaint. But guess that one will come later when the furnitures are in.

Decorations As we are not doing brick wall or using wall paper, the wall beside the tv wall is actually quite empty. So we thought of using decal to decorate it. We believe that a house should reflect the owners' personalities. As both of us likes running, we decide to find decals that is relating to running. I look through a few local website that sells decals but i didn't see decals related to running. I send email to enquire about custom made on running decal. Either is no response or i do not like the service provided. So i look for overseas website that does decal. Initially i just look for pictures of running decal and enquire if they can custom-make similar ones. Subsequently i have this idea of making the running decal more unique, which is to incorporate our features into the decal. This includes incorporating our hair style, head shape, forehead, brow, nose, lips, and chin. We found a designer who is able to come up with what we require and we send in photos of our side view for him to do the customization. I suggested to the designer to share with me more picture of different running posture and he doesn't have to use the one i provided. So he found quite a number of different pose for us to choose. I choose 10 & 11 which is also the original one i provided to him as the running posture looks better as compared to the rest. The designer also requested photo of the wall where the decal will be so that after designing he will intergrate into the wall to let us have a better idea of how it looks like. This is the original size of the decal we require. Find it abit too small. Would need to find more things to decorate around it if not it would look too plain. The designer showed us another photo of how it would look like if we were to use real size decal, meaning base on our real height. We find the real size decal looks better. At least the wall looks less empty. But one concern is the cost and also we were thinking due to the size and colour of the decal, would it look scary? The original smaller one we find it cute but just a bit too small. So we decided to go for an in-between size, meaning bigger than the small decal but smaller than the real size decal. We decided to go for decal of about 3/4 of our real height. Hopefully the actual decal received will turn out good.

Frankly speaking i'm not satisfied with the tiling work. But appreciate the fact that they go to the extent for requesting the higher management of Soon Bee Huat, the company where i got my tiles from to explain on the reason why the tiles will become uneven as initially i feedback to them the uneveness was pretty bad... Yes before that i have also heard of warping and uneven issues...but i still went ahead cause if i choose normal 60 by 60 tiles, it wouldn't give me the effect i want. I could have choosen wooden flooring but due to maintenance wise i choose homogeneous tiles. Now i personally experience the uneveness...some whereby you brush your foot over the tiles you can feel the "cut"...which i'm getting the reno firm to change it...

Toilet Accessories MBR Bought all the accessories from Hoo Kee except for the toilet roll holder from Ikea Most of my neighbours install the towel rack above the toilet bowl, but as i'm doing top cabinet, the towel rack will be installed beside the shower screen. Due to space limitation, this smaller towel rack would be more suitable. Common bath room Same as MBR, the towel rack is beside the shower screen. The position has to be correct so that toilet swing slide door will not hit the towel rack. If not for space constraints, would prefer a larger towel rack.

Flooring Living room flooring is completed. Knock every single tile. There's a few hollow ones and some uneven tiles which would request the reno firm to change. Placed the laminate flooring sample beside the living rooms tiles. On the appearance it looks like both can blend with each other. Hopefully when the actual large piece of laminate is installed next week, it would look good overall.

Painting works Painting done Paint chosen I only choose 1 colour for the whole house. Come to think of it, i should have chosen white instead of creamy white. Tomorrow the air con will be fixed and the plumber will be coming in to fix the toilet accessories plus the plumbering works

Oh i got it from ****.... ya no laminates, no grooves...it's plain plain...i didn't have any pictures of the door...mine is solid one...

Yup nice but x ... not sure if buy from those website online cheaper .. i rely partly on the lightings to make the place look nicer

Hi thanks for sharing mine is just plain door then they will mix the colour close to the flooring before varnish . . Was just wondering if lourve white toilet doors and brown wooden bedroom doors will it look nice ...

Ha you found my t blog ... my balcony is very small like planter box .. if your living area is spacious enough then you might consider leaving your balcony as it is so that you can have another cosy corner in the house

Doors Didn't op for HDB doors as i would like to choose my own door design. Didn't go through the reno firm as well as i thought it will be cheaper to source direct. For the past 2 weeks have been looking around for doors. For toilets, it has to be bi-fold or swing slide doors as normal doors will make the toilet feel cramp. As our house is more of wooden theme, we felt that those aluminium bi-fold doors will not suit our theme. If we were to take bi-fold wooden doors, it will be pretty expensive. Wanted to have white doors for bedrooms and all white aluminium bi-fold doors, so that overall it will still look okay. However due to certain reasons, permission was not granted by my mum for choosing white doors. We tried looking for bi-fold doors with brown frame with some wooden grains design, thinking that it would match with the brown wooden bedroom doors. We saw this white aluminium swing slide louvre door which we quite like and pricing wise is less than wooden bi-fold doors. Surprisingly permission was granted for choosing white for toilet doors. Just that bedroom doors cannot be white. But for louvre doors, need to spend more time cleaning.... So for bedroom doors, we choose those nyatoh plywood solid. As for the colour, they will mix it till it's close to the flooring colour before varnish. If only i can get white for bedroom doors....

Yup find it expensive too... our renovation we keeping simple not doing feature wall or brick wall or using wall paper. So furnishing wise i am more willing to spend. As we are buying a few items from the same place so we ask for better discount.
