Bought a similar model last month and the contractor cut off a portion bcos of the beam. When we tried it, there is no suction at all. Rinnai technician came down and told us that we couldn't chop off part of it for this type of hood. Maybe u can call up rinnai and check wif them. Their customer service quite good.
