  1. Potatoes Tks. I'm looking forward. Reno is so mentally and emotionally torturing . Hubby just blasted at renovator. And I'm turning sleepless cos of the joints of the laminate of the shoe cabinet. Cos of the rough texture, it won't be a smooth finish but I like this texture. So cracking head big big whether to change the top to a smooth laminate. I guess for most of us..it's gek sim over tiling and carpentry cos it's the big items we see .
  2. Check out bugis junction. Small shops at haji lane. U nvr know yr collection may fetch $$$ in the future :-)
  3. Love yr bricked wall especially the one in the bedroom. Drooling over the rest of yr pix. Nice nice...
  4. And to the kitchen..nthg much to see as the top cabinet skeletons also not up Kitchen island and tall cabinet as store room The other side of the kitchen Highly baffled why till now they still dun remove the previous chimney hood Keep the stainless steel backing My re vanished balcony door and polished marble flooring A few sighs...and it's hard to manage the one sighing and grumbling beside me ...
  5. Today carpentry guys are here. I braved my heart to check ... Wow..past 930pm and they r still working. Only see mainly skeletons. But hubby alredi yak yak yak.... Low shoe cabinet. Like the wood grains BUT.. They be stripped out as the edges can't be smoothed out.. Full height book shelves I'm kinda disappointed the laminate is much lighter tone A few, misalignments of the shelves And the backing took up 5 cm..so it's kinda narrow.. Hubby frowned !!! Master bedroom wardrobe Wardrobe sliding door. Like the combi The skeletons Gonna buy a white dressing table to be placed at the purple wall A view from the sleeping area Glad my sleeping area is still a gd 3.1 m wide. =)
  6. It's super duper Kawaii!! But infinite likes ^_^ Would love to own them too but my furry fren will shred em; even I put on tall cabinets, she will whine at em. @-@
  7. Vanish. Paint will cover the wood grains.
  8. My staircase : before and after (with my dirty footprints =p) I will love to have yr wrought iron railings =) I like yr marbled flooring. In good condition. My 2 cts worth If you vanish the wood panels in a more modern tone like walnut or dark brown or paint in,white, it can have a contemporary feel. Maybe you should take a walk to places like Duxton place , Ann Siang road to see the facades with such window panels and get inspiration. Then for your kitchen , toilet, go for clean look and single tone earthly colour so the theme won't clash too badly. Yr study room looks gd too. With a new coat of paint , it can brighten up,the place. Think if you install sliding door, the cornice will have to go.
  9. Think as long as its wood, it can be varnished. my staircase used to be in such cherry wood tone; I've asked to vanished in 2 tones of walnut and its now more modernish But I do like the window panel design. It's special. Can go along with a paranaken theme or a colonial theme. Yah 40k+ for the items is pricey.
  10. Nice. ESP,the jap doll clips. Where did you can the white display rack?
  11. My family went traders cafe biz on sun. It's 2dine,3rd pax dine free. Lovely seafood range. The surprising nice stuff was oyster omelette and satay. They have one-for-one on mon-thur but heard the variety not as good.
  12. Anyone bought any art pieces from art.com? Feedback? Reviews?
  13. Bear in mind that renovators do not give detailed space planning, project schedule and def no 3D DRAWINGS. So if u are the kan Jeong type, the renovators/contractors can drive u crazy. Imagine I am always surprised by the renovator each time I visit my site (every 2or 3days) Try to go id or contractors who hv done EM I went to a few ids (the popular ones) and theres a lot of stuff these designers dunno.. And I need to conduct a mini briefing for them (ESP the young designers) They hv nice fanciful designs but not practical esp when u need to maintain it.
  14. Nice and gd idea. But how did you update with new photos? Need a ladder ya?!
  15. Hi chloeong My 2cts worth &' apologies to mysweetlilthings to hijack yr forum. When I first got our EM 13 years ago, we also did limited Reno...toilets, kitchen and painting, all restrained by the layouts, design We lived with some eye sore , impractical stuff the previous owner left behind Now, in our send round of Reno, we hacked away what we previously did . We really sigh,,we should hv done it at round one. In this round, I'm still restricted by the stair railing but I really hv no budget for it. But seeing the house is 90% I want it, I discount the eye sore of the star railing. Ps: my EM is near bt panjang so u can pm me if u wan take a look. But mine still pending carpentry
  16. Mini updates Grills and gate installed silver wrought iron set One round of acid wash revealing the true faces of the tiles Dining room: wooden grains tiles. Master toilet : floor tiles with a vinyl , laminated floor look No budget to change to new staircase. So asked renovator to vanish to 2 diff shades of walnut. Remove the 80s look and effect was pretty good Outstanding tasks Polish marble floor Install shower panels Install glass panel with sliding door at the living room Carpentry I'm doubtful if they are completed by 25aug where we plan to move it.
  17. Yes ; system 4. Mitsubishi Aircon installers simply cmi .. Just wanna quickly do and vanish Sigh
  18. My aircon installer applied the permit. Saw in this forum that another EM unit also install the condenser outside.
  19. Most laundry pole brackets are ceiling mounted But I am looking for wall mounted bracket as my ceiling Is too high Anywhere I can get or where to customized?
  20. Is yours a gen 2 EM too? Like your toilet tiles. Can't wait to see your store room. I had to contemplate so hard btw a big roomy kitchen vs a storeroom like yours. I settled for the former. If given another choice , I'll even conver level one toilet to a full storeroom but considering my elderly parents and in laws who need use the loos. :-(
  21. And the gek-sim-ism Air cons finally up The thumbs up: compressor outside the unit; not in balcony. Placed in at level 2, outside the new common bedroom. Now my plants can survive e nights The thumbs down : blower unit **** room blocking the down light Sigh... I guess the installer simply dun care lo. Very fed up with them over installations & piping etc. Called renovator to rectify the frowns We did not notice the patchy wall under the window panels But I suspect they won't rectify since the grills will cover it. Well we complained and saw see how
  22. More lightings New common toilet walkway This is used in outdoor gardens but I like the shape and the way it luminated Kitchen island Wanted to buy the piece from Ikea but they discontinued the series Found this at Chuan huat at $55. It comes with a glass cover but we temporary removed it Study room Wall light Suspected reading light It's 2.8m long hanging over our long suspended study table Lights at staircase and master bedroom under wraps ...soon to be revealed.
