Hi hi eekenji! Your house looks so cozy, especially with all your thoughtful decorations. I'm really glad everything worked out for you in the end. Cheers!

That's all the photos I took. Do let me know if you want more photos from other angles. And oh, the dimensions are 530mm x 410mm x 455mm and can be found on http://www.scanteak.com.sg/catalogue/bedroom/night-tables which I should have checked up on before buying... Please PM me to deal.

Harlow again. I haven't been back in awhile.. I accidentally deleted my photobucket account and lost all my reno photos! Anyway I'm back to sell these bedside tables. Only a couple of months old and still in near mint condition. Selling because they are too wide for my masterbed room. Scanteak is still selling these for $359. I'm asking $350 for both. The items are ready for pickup at my place in mountbattern. First two photos were taken in the Scanteak showroom itself. The rest are the actual bedside tables I'm selling.

Hi Salormoon, very nice place you've got there too! Love the whites! And your kitchen looks really inviting to cook in. Great reno.

Mbr bathroom As you can see we use separate toothpastes so we won't have the common couple quarrel over it. haha.

Hi Shandee, I didn't really put any thought into coordinating the doors along the corridor. To save money we kept all the bedroom doors, just repainted them. Our ID suggested glass doors for the bathrooms that will not be affected by the water/humidity so we went with it. As for space wise, all our glass doors can open outwards so that give us a lot of space in the bathrooms itself. I'll let the pictures do the talking now. Corridor and common bathroom. To keep the pipes kinda hidden/out of sight, we opted to have the bidet tap lower. The only thing is we need to tuck the hose back behind the sink each time after use or it'll be in the open like the pictures.

Hey, I'm looking for a cheap easy pull down laundry hanging thing.. Where did you get your clothes rack from and how much was it? I'm not sure if you have any experience with it yet but can you share your decision process and why did you choose this one? Thank you.

Hi pressuntilshiok, thanks so so so much for the help. I was seriously going to buy one of those $100 repeaters from challenger tomorrow and your timely message is going to save me lots of $$$ I now need to figure out how to purchase and get it delivered... My mandarin is extremely bad, haha. For the Eubiq, I purchased it from ASL POWER. http://www.aslpower.com.sg/Home.html They are really easy to work with and are willing to come straight to your place to demo the product. You can try Kenneth at 9060 8017. As for the pricing, I forgot how much I paid... something like $100-150 for the power strip and $30-50 per adapter. The embedded strip are a bit more expensive I think.

-The side touching the wall is the usual 600mm -The half island sticking out is 800mm with a 200mm recess for counter stools. (which are on the way!) The domino induction stove is exactly 510mm for your reference. Our ID recommended the dimensions and we went with it. It works really well for us I think the 510mm base your contractor laid out is the standard for a 600mm counter with some room for your toes. You can consider getting a slightly deeper counter (800mm or more) if you want both sides to be fully functional. One point to note is that finding counter stools for the usual kitchen counter height was difficult as most are catered for the taller bar height. This limits your choice to the stools with the adjustable height and only a few shorter counter stools.

I did mine with Jimmy Textiles after reading this. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=12391 Very fast and quite cheap too.

Can't wait to see your kitchen all done up

Hi there Velarine, It's actually a solid core laminate. It's 2mm thick and super duper white and glossy! Cannot see the waves like normal laminates and also don't need the ABS trimmings cos it's white all around the sides too. We had to pay a bit more for it but it does add to the look.

Hi Taichipanda, That is part of my dry kitchen. So hopefully it stays dry. I did think of mounting it on the was but then without any top cabinets it would look weird and out of place. I read that the Eubiq is somewhat water proof but it being an electrical devise I did have my doubts. So thank you UncelJ for the reassuring words.

Yeah actually my wife and I like the 46", if it's only a few of us. But when more people come over, it's just crying out to be a tad bigger.. I must admit we didn't think of the bench behind the sofa idea. It was just a natural thing that happened, the first time we had a bunch of guests over to watch a movie the shifted it there themselves! And I think our shorter sofa height kinda makes it almost like tiered seating.

Congrats on your new place. Yes, full open kitchen will have problems when you stir fry or cook oily/smelly stuff.. Especially if you don't want to mop the whole house every time you cook. Can consider glass door to give the illusion of space with full open kitchen but still closeable.

Cheap also still money right. Can save, must save... This flat already make big big hole in our pocket!
-
Oh, so you were looking for this specific floor plan. I had a different route.. We were looking for a specific area, near mountbattern MRT, and just kept viewing units until we found a floor plan that we loved.
-
WAH!!! Upgrade in a year!! Cannot lah.. TV not cheap one you know. Maybe in 2 years... Hehe.
-
Same here... I also never win one. Haha. For us, 2 chairs and one bench works really well. When guest come we put the bench behind the sofa, and a few guest chairs around. Very comfy. Only regret is not getting a 55" TV.. I thought 46" big enough until I put it on the big wall then now it looks so small. Hah. Some more photos.

I like your new plan even more! Yes this kitchen layout really opens up the living and makes it very inviting for guest. Looks like I'll have to charge you an ID fee now... You can check out another reno blog with a similar layout at "my home town.sg" by Wordsworth

Hey EoneKhaled, It's a little wash area. Sorry to hijack your thread eekenji.

Hi there eekenji, I'm sure you'll be as happy with your floorplan as we are. We actually paid a bit more COV because of the relatively good existing condition, but we really wanted a big living/guest area so we decided to expand to the balcony too. The original living room had 3 different types of floorings(entrance tiles, living room tiles and raised timber at the TV console) and the only way to combine them all was to hack and redo the whole area. Just two nights ago we had about 15 people come over to watch Feng Tianwei play for her bronze medal, it was a cozy fit when we brought out our dinning bench and guest chairs out for all to sit comfortably.

Yeah i'm using the old school ADSL. I went to challenger yesterday and found a possible solution, this thing called a "Wifi Repeater" can duplicate an existing signal and boost it. But it's pretty expensive and i'm not sure if it will work well. Can anybody comment?

We have the same plan for the corridor too! Still have yet to choose the perfect picture for it though. And to help you with your space planning, here's my service balcony with the pipes boxed up. We didn't opt for the cabinet access to the pipes so we may have a problem in the future if it leaks.. *Fingers crossed!* I definitely do like the space to do the laundry.

Hi there, Great layout you've got there and I like your design too! My layout is similar to yours not entirely. One thing interesting about this floor plan is you'll get a lot of compliments about how wide your corridor is. Just a heads up, you might want to check then next time you go back to the unit to have a look at the pipes in the service balcony. My unit has 2 big pipes running down exactly where you're planning to put a study table. But my unit is not on the top floor so it may be different. All the best with your reno, I'm definitely be checking back. Cheers!
