As we carried many stuffs bought from Baby Market, we didn’t spend long time in Harvey Norman Expo .. we went to ask the sales guy directly which one was the good buy. Finally, we choose these : :: Electrolux EWF10831 8kg Front Load Washing Machine :: :: LG 47LW6500 47″ CLASS 3D 1080P 240HZ LED SMART TV :: And it also comes with this free gift – bluray from LG

Summarize from the link for those applicable to our new place : * Use a second tile choice to make a feature wall. But have to be careful about using small ledgestone tile, unless you know your water does not leave staining on your tile. Ledgestone achieves the stacked-rock look — like on this shower wall — with the rough face of the stone facing out. The rough surface means that it's slow to drain, and water with a heavy mineral content will build up quickly. e.g. --- Hope the ledgestone tiles we choose for our shower feature wall is not considered as small, afraid of maintenance issue. * Keep cleaning in mind. If you hate cleaning your shower, use larger slabs or glass panels, since they making cleaning much easier than small mosaic-type tiles. --- We are trying to get a larger slabs, but we still like those mosaic designs.

Reno will be started end of this month .. still have few weeks to go. Last wknd went to Soon Bee Huat and Hafary to choose the tiles for bathrooms and kitchen ... as there is no ID, everything we have to decide by our own. No confident if the result will turn out good, some options we choose for master bathroom ~ which one do you think is better?

I going to get our key end of next month then will start our reno ... count down now : ) Btw, what is ur budget of reno? I met Jimmy before and he was not bad, quite keen to work with him but we have already confirmed another contractor ...

Hi 1000miles, your question made me laugh .. haha .. yeah, we intended one .. kidding. We also noticed the space is small, i.e. we didn't go for big sofa .. may be we need to reduce the size of kitchen cabinet to enlarge the space there.

Hi barcadibreezer, actually our floor size is the same, around 120sqm ... yours is 13100x10600 while mine is 12750x10100. Agreed, actually some of the carpentry works can be done after moved in .. may be that time you have better ideas ~ My husband like your WIW design, he even think to follow yours but I told him our MBR is smaller than yours .. so have to drop the idea. Mine also completion in end October, and we have confirmed our contractor. Hope everything can be done by end November as my tummy is getting bigger and bigger now Your ID is good, haven't confirmed but already provided you the 3D drawing .. how much d they quote you for your reno?

Hi 1000miles, nice to meet you .. Noticed that you also staying at Bedok now, probably we met before Wonder how much do you sell your 4A Bedok house, Bedok has good selling price : ) Your EA is big and you can do many things ... are you going to create a T-blog? Looking forward to see your plans ... sometimes I also wondering if the end result of having platform beside balcony, glass window partition playroom and bay window recess cabinet will turn out good. Our reno will only start end of next month ... feel that time passed really slow. My husband didn't like to have storeroom, so we will try to store our toiletries stuffs and diapers etc in those cabinets we have ... window recess cabinets we have about 4, and we also plan to use the platform as one of the storage area (have yet to chk with our carpenter). Next time I will share the carpentry works we plan to do ~ Saw you choose OPSH as your wardrobe contractor, how is their price?

Hi barcadibreezer .. haha, our 3D is the simple one .. ID can do better , e.g. they can include the furniture you bought inside the 3D drawing, looked more real compared to ours Not sure if there is still any fengshui effect after box-up the beam .. I hope no, may be I will box-up our beam as well, hehe ..
-
Hi tessina, let me help barcadibreezer to reply .. the white box is lift. For you and me, we have totally the same floor plan but barcadibreezer has slightly different floor plan. Here's the example of block 7xx : white color is our unit layout while blue color is barcadibreezer unit layout. There are 2 types of 5i in blk 7xx .. both are about the same size of 120sqm but slightly different layout designs .. barcadibreezer has a storeroom between MBR and bedroom 2 while our storeroom is inside the kitchen. Saw your t-blog .. you have huge WIW ~ envy.

Hi ladygeorgette, wow .. your EDD is coming soon. Have you attended your first appointment? I hope I can move in to new place before my delivery ... yeah, my husband also will be the runner too, as I cannot go to view the reno progress during pregnancy period.
-
Thx ladygeorgette ~ how's your pregnancy and reno progress? I like the dining table too ~ and it was not that exp, less than 600 after discount. I know this brand istill also carry leather sofa. You may check their catalogue to see what designs you like, have the leather one too. I actually got mine from the furniture shop called "Xclusive" which just opposite to IMM Building. And the manager brought us over to the shop called "Picket & Rail" to try the sofa, his brands are selling in both of the shops. At the end, we paid our sofa at Picket & Rail @ IMM and paid our bedframe + mattress at Xclusive. Besides of brand Istill, I know he also carried the brand called Kuka which is for leather sofa only. Frankly speaking, I haven't got our sofa .. so I cannot comment if the thing is good or not .. hope it is good la.

Hi barcadibreezer, nice sketch you have ! Did you feel great and proud after you done your layout design? I feel it is fun especially playing with the 3D feature : ) For the sliding door, the quote I got is from range of 1.7k to 2k ... I saw there is also PD door for balcony but not sure how much is it. Paiseh, I cannot give much comments on aquarium and water feature .. not familiar with this area. Same as your layout, we also have a beam at that area .. I checked with my colleague who is good in fengsui, he said as long as I didn't stay long under the beam, shall be ok. Will try to avoid to sit under the beam when watching tv, hehe .. Else keep shifting we will have no space. For your layout design, have you imagine if you sit on the sofa and you will see the whole hallway to your room? Our initial design also something similar to yours .. but my husband questioned me this, and I think quite strange too .. so swap the position of sofa and tv. Just some thoughts .. I personally prefer design 1 .. not sure how about the rest ? : ) You found your ID already? How much will be your reno for balinese theme?
-
Thanks barcadibreezer ... hehe. I like tiles with wood grains too, but will keep as existing parquet flooring due to budget constraint. Since your FSM asked that, you can really think of keep the existing balcony as planter .. For us, we only keep about 400mm for balcony due to space constraint too .. you can notice that half of our sofa is already shift to hallway area. Since the sliding door will be opened when we stand at the balcony, i.e. the space allowance will be much more than 400mm (400mm is only when the sliding door is closed), so I think shall be ok. We can also sit on the platform and enjoy the outdoor scenary at balcony while open the sliding door. Of course, we also hope to get a bigger balcony but there is constraint in existing layout : ( Yeah, we have informed all our ID/ contractors with the new modified layout (with sliding door and balcony) and also received their quotations ... but we haven't finalized on the shortlisting of ID/ contractor. $50K is really tough for us as well, initially thought just need $40K ... Hope we really able to keep below $50K, or will not be exceed by too much. The sofa is from the brand called istill ... you can click the link I attached from my previous post to check their collections. Currently the sofas are selling inside the IMM shop called picket and rail. Yes it is fabric sofa, and can be customized to different sizes ... I didn't see much reviews from this brand, I hope everything will be fine.

Used the floorplanner to draw the floorplan and 3D design, also indicated the place to put the furnitures we bought : Took about 2 hours to draw this, not too bad huh :

Yesterday just done the first appointment, now is waiting for key collection on 29 Oct to start reno ... Push to this date due to Hari Haji and want to respect our seller who are Muslim ... Still have 1.5 months time before reno start. Last weekend went to IMM and bought the sofa set, storage bedframe and mattress; also bought our dining table from Franc Franc Vivo. The sofa set can be customized up to 3 meter and can be choose from their catalogue, have shortlisted these few designs : And this is the dining table from Franc Franc :

Solid Surface Kitchen Countertop That Looks Like Wood ?
eekenji replied to dragonnite's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Saw there are few threads talking about this brand ... you may take a look. I am also keen of using this material as our kitchen top to have the feeling of wood, but husband concern is whether it can resist hard knocks especially when we want to chop the chicken etc. The thickness is about 6mm thick .. not sure if it is good enough. The website mentioned can follow their youtube channel for the video clips on resistance to hard knocks but I cannot find it in the youtube channel.
