How Much Cov Have You Paid?
eekenji replied to spikedoll's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
haha .. I think overall is depend whether we need the thing - either car or house. So, the COV or COE is depend on market demand .. whether there are needs. -
Hi crypaz, husband has called to city gas and we can install it in the kitchen but we didnt mention about the water pressure. The city gas officer also didn't mention to us regarding the water pressure .. we will check again on this. Thanks for your advice

How Much Cov Have You Paid?
eekenji replied to spikedoll's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
This June bought our new place 7xx at tampines with cov of 35k, top floor 5i, 120sqm. Initially is 45k but their valuation expired n need redo , 2nd valuation increased 10k so we paid more in valuation price but less in COV. At the same time, we sold our Bedok 3i with COV of 20k .. Blk 29 which just behind the Bedok CC. I have friend managed to buy a new 5i at 12k COV at sembawang ... Lucky gal ~ -
:: Bathroom accessories & Kitchen appliances :: Last Sunday went to Geylang to shop for bathroom accessories and kitchen appliances. The first shop we went was introduced by our contractor but we found that the price was quite expensive and I didn't feel that they willing to reduce the price. We left the shop with empty hands and I started to use my iphone to surf in renotalk forum -- there are peoples recommended this shop at Geylang called Universal Union. This shop is much bigger compared to the shop we went just now and at the end we spent around $3.5k (incl of GST). Things that we have bought included : For Bathrooms WC x 2 ( Critzo Duke 6" ) Basins x 2 ( Critzo L520xW410xH150mm rectangular wall hung basin ) Basins tap x 2 Rain Shower Set for Master bathroom Shower Head and Mixer for Common bathroom Tower Rack x 2 Toilet Paper Holder x 2 Storage Heater ( Joven 25L, will be changed to city gas heater ) For Kitchen Granite Sink ( Carysil Deluxe 2B ) Sink Tap Hood ( Fujioh FX900 Slim Line Oil Tech Hood ) Hob ( Fujioh FG773SVGL 3 Burner Glass Hob ) Built-in Oven ( Fujioh 8 functions roaster oven ) Snapshot of what we have bought :

Lunareverie, love your condo layout .. I also looking for scandi theme design, I like swedish home and Ikea furnitures. I just bought a resale 5 room hdb, have about 7 windows + 1 balcony .. will try to do some bay window cabinet design so can put plants and decorative stuffs .. Saw you have the same idea, looking forward to see your reno result. Due to budget constraint, we didn't get ID but just hired contractor. Scared that might not achieve what we want, coz contractor will just follow our instruction and we also have tight budget. I believed your ID will achive scandi theme that you want .. so will follow your t-blog to see more updates ~ Btw, can share how much d u bought for your big condo? 4 rooms are really attractive ...

Congratulate ! I still need to wait for another week more to get my key ... Looking forward to see your reno progress.

U can consider Ikea kitchen cabinet if u want those cabinet door with the moulding designs .. else can just hire carpenter to do normal laminate cabinet but you can add in some special hinges to make it have scandi feeling. Normal carpentry cabinet fabrication dun come with the moulding design, these kind of designs may need paint spray. I also doing similar kitchen like this and I like to use the subway tiles as the backsplash but husband didn't want .. so u can consider to use subway tiles and can have the effect of your pictures attached ~

Husband together with the contractor just re-submitted the hacking permit to HDB, this Friday will know the result .. hopefully it is will be approved as we only have less than 9 working days before reno start (counted from today). Guess I can also start to plan the idea / moodboard for our house reno. Let's start with entrance ... :: moodboard for entrance ::

Finally decided the tiles for our bathrooms and kitchen .. tomorrow will give the list to contractor to order, we will get the tiles from Soon Bee Huat and Hafary.
-
Not sure ... but tomorrow husband will go down again to submit the permit together with the contractor, hopefully can settle this time. barcadibreezer, congratulation that you start 'kai gong' .. all the best, we still have 2 weeks to go and our hacking permit still haven't got .. sigh, afraid there is delay due to permit issue. Looking forward to see your reno progress ~

Thanks 1000miles ... Yesterday husband took 1 day off to go down with contractor to check with HDB officer on the reason of reject the hacking permit, we just realized our contractor didn't indicate clearly. He was really not good on the paper work, so he duplicated some walls for hacking. We need to re-submit again and husband will need to take leave again .. sigh. So this is really the cons of hiring contractors especially those who was not so experienced on major reno. So, none of our wall hackings have been approved due to contractor mistakes. Another thing that we learn is need to indicate some keywords such as "hack from underside of RC beam" for those storeroom walls in kitchen due to there is RC beam on top.
-
Submitted permission for hacking but there are some problems on hacking of the walls at storeroom, tomorrow husband will go down to HDB hub to check with the officer ... might need to hire PE ~ hope everything will be fine. Another 19 days more before reno start, still haven't shopped for toilet accessories, basin and WC etc. Also haven't finalized the tiles selection, contractor is asking us on this .. wonder if we need to decide asap in case the tiles are out of stock. I quite like the brick wall tiles for kitchen and bathroom but husband didn't like, sad sad ..

Hi Janicelhl, the price included mattress .. Not sure if this was the promotion price as the manager told us that it was just launched on the day we went, so he tried to give us the good price. Actual price seems much higher than what we paid, good luck ~
-
Hi Janicelhl, We got the fabric sofa and platform storage bed from a furniture shop called "Xclusive" which just located opposite to IMM Building, total price was around 5k.
-
Forgot to add, we also choose our storage bedframe from Montella, hope it can fit into our master bedroom.
