  1. Does Stonetile prefer to deal through ID or deal with house owner directly? Who should i contact for quotation and onsite measurement?

  3. hi ryan81,

Not too sure about drawer runner model. As for all the drawer units are using double walled.

    Cheers.

  4. Electrician recommended by gragaschen cannot deliver. Do not be taken in by the cheap quotation. You can read all about it at http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=51666
  5. i dont like the SGD1500 Leather LV Bag; prefer the Hermes Birkin Bag. some can afford the finer things in life while others anything can do. Most of the time, it is taste that matters most. Cheers bro, no hard feeling.
  6. I'm using CaesarStone 2141 (20mm thickness) for my kitchen counter top, it was provided through my carpenter. On the day they came to install, i clearly saw the brand and color model printed on the opposite side of the slab. CaesarStone comes in 2 thickness; 20mm and 30mm. SilesStone comes in 3 thickness; 12mm, 20mm and 30mm. iQuartz comes in 1 thickness; 15mm. The following prices were quoted to me by my carpenter and quoted to some other RenoTalk members through their contractors; based on CaesarStone 1141/2141 and SilesStone Zeus Extreme. CaesarStone $220 - $250 per foot run SilesStone $280 per foot run If your ID quoted you $180 per foot run, it will not be CaesarStone for sure, most likely is iQuartz (iQuartz price is between $100-$150 per foot run).
  7. Dear RenoTalk members, Please do your due diligent when you engage those highly recommended electricians, unless the person that speak highly of the electrician can vouch for the workmanship and character of the electrician he/she recommended to you, i suggest you better dont trust them wholeheartedly. The electrician highly recommended by gragaschen cannot deliver. Please do not be taken in by the cheap quotation. Personally i dont wish any of you to fall victim like my facebook group member. The following was posted on one of my facebook group about this electrician. Initially he won me over with his low price & eagerness... He spent 1hr to go through my needs & wrote down everything & gave me a quote very swiftly.... Young man, Nice chap I thought, & with some (or maybe it's one) good review at RT.... As the project progresses, he started to face problems as he claimed his workers left & he has to do my place personally.... I have already lost count of how many days he has been to my place.... Even as I write now, he is at my living room creating new debris, throwing screws & stuff over my completed & supposingly clean floor... I shall just summarize the dissatisfaction 1. Very very poor housekeeping, simply drill & throw things all over the place without protection... I even took the effort to give him cardboards & he said he is used to do things this way.... There was one incident many weeks back that a screw was found stuck under my bedroom door & I think I know who is the culprit.... BTW, he keep losing his stuff & have to rebuy.... I have seen him mixing new & old trunkings & placing it together with the rubbish 2. Cannot deliver - After so many trips to my place (more than 5), still cannot finish... Everytime he goes off, will tell me only a bit left, but there will forever be something left.... As of last night count, still about 20 items not done. For my fanco fans, he doesn't know how to fix & I have to get bro Eric (from RT) 3. No sense of responsibility, absolutely no. All the mistakes r someone else prob. Eg trunking creates big gap but claims it's painter job to touch up, cracked my wall tile blame tiler for not tiling well... Leave messes everywhere & just refuse to do anything about it.... But the worst is he will always come in late, go off early & never finish the jobs.... 4. Always asking for payment when the job is about to be finished, & always tell me job done... It was prob my fault for being too casual & didn't go through items one by one..... Yesterday he asked me to pay him today & told me almost fin (i went back to take photos & count about 21 items outstanding & tried to tell him today; he still insisted only a few items left).... So far I have been very prompt in payment including some extras like remote controls & lights he bought for me... Maybe my biggest mistake was to be too prompt & friendly.... 5. Poor workmanship... Plenty of gaps at the joints of trunkings & socket/light point... Trunking covers that cannot close properly, slanted trunking & points.... Everytime point to him & ask him to fix it's either somebody's fault or it's a simple job & he will do it (but he never does) I have already booked the mover to shift next week & keep reminding him to finish it this week... No problem he says, give him one day... & he is now onto his 2nd day (not counting the half day last week).... & a few weeks ago when painting was done, he already spent about 2 days told me he completed his job except the kitchen..... So according to his version with only kitchen outstanding, he can't even complete it in 2 days..... Here are some additional comments my member posted last few days. He left the project on Fri... Called me on Fri to tell me take the bal sum & get someone else to fin the job..... Finally, things were fixed this afternoon..... It's crazy, spent so much time cleaning & cleaning (u should see the warzone he left behind....) & coordinating everything.... I decided to touch things up myself in case more pple damage the house..... I m shifting on Fri, but I m burnt out now to do anything..... Gotta recharge, regroup & make a final push towards the last hurdle.... Tuesday at 7:57pm via mobile · Like My touch up refers to the painting, silicon filling etc.... Did I tell u he even threw tiling debris into my toilet bowl & then vehemently denied doing it (no other contractors were in the house).... I had to put my hand in to scoop 4 times to remove it..... I think he came over 6 times after painting & still couldn't fin... EVERYTIME he spent short duration, at times no drill, material not enough, keep coming back & forth...... Good news is, it's all over with him now!!! I need to Zzzzzzzz now, ciao Yesterday at 7:13am via mobile · Like My wirings were supposed to be done after tiling, & installation after painting..... But he kept leaving things up, & he refused to touch the kitchen & toilet until after my kitchen cabinets r up, citing that he needed to do it all at one s hot.... & I had like SCV points, phone points etc exposed for weeks because he couldn't find the cover for them.... & a wall light that couldn't be switched on for a week coz he lost the cable for that... Get the drift of how messy he is...... Really, I should be catching up on my sleep.... 9. Where is that user iQuartz? I am still waiting for his professional advice.
  10. So what you doing here is ethical and professional conduct? You claimed gkbt attack products and services from other firms, can you kindly quote some for us to see and let us judge by ourselves? You too can start to login as a concerning member with enough knowledge to advice us on the real water ionizer instead of coming here to do sneaky attack on our contributing member.
  11. Come mike, i pay you high quality peanut that i can guaranty you wont get heaty munching on them.
  12. My L4800mmX600mm CaesarStone quartz costs me $4,000, my friend's L4800mmX600mm SilesStone quartz costs her $4,790; why yours only cost you $2,400? Something fishy, maybe dont have 20mm thickness, or they only have limited colors or the 7% resin in their quartz is not certify food processing safe?
  13. Both my designer friend and my carpenter has CaesarStone on their speed dial.
  14. Depend on whose they assign you from SkyCreation, i have met a few of them, they may sound professional but to me they still lack home renovating and designing experience. I dont think you will splash pail after pail of water onto your kitchen floor to have the drainage hole in the kitchen. I would suggest additional small holes drilled using drill bit for wood, 1 each at the side for the speaker wires, 1 each between the left and right compartment for routing the speaker wires to your player/amplifier. Mike is correct about the laminate size of 4 ft X 8 ft, their carpenter should build all the pieces facing the audience and the top of the console using a single piece without the joint line in the middle.
  15. So iQuartz is made in China, sorry my mistake i though is made in Singapore. I do have a few questions... 1. How many color does iQuartz has? 2. Does iQuartz has pure white color such as SilesStone Zeus Extreme or CaesarStone 1141? 3. What are the available thickness? 4. Can food preparation be carry out on iQuartz surface safely? 5. Is there any data sheet or testing report that can confirm this? I have a very convincing suggestion... if iQuartz can produce the same test report done by CaesarStone and SilesStone that your numbers are on par or even more superior than the 2 market leaders, then with your affordable pricing you will get a very huge chunk of this market, both local and international.
  16. You can try the Hafary's method to see if it works. I see your toilet so colorful, tri-color of brown, white and grey. Mine is all very light grey, glossy for wall, rough matt for floor.
  17. Read this >>> http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=50004
  18. Arrhhh... you like that explain then the more i think your gout line turn white from grey and the white stain on tile are related. Fyi, the cement hardener is milky white in color, it is mixed to the cement for waterproofing and fast drying. If accidentally stained the tile must quickly clean/wash off or else it will be there permanently. Other than this... it could be the your contractor never do chemical/acid wash to your toilet cos when chemical/acid wash, the cement in gout will be removed quite a bit, need to refill the cement to gout. If tiling workers is another group of sub con and they have move to next job, the main contractor may not be able to call them to come back to touch up.
  19. Most if not all homogeneous tiles are manufactured by some kind of ISO standard, it should not have the white stain at all. My only worry is that the white stain maybe hardener solution use the mixed with the cement for laying of tile or mixed with white cement for filling the gout line that may have accidentally left some residue on the rough surfaced tile. Funny why your gout line got some parts white and other parts grey...
  20. That is the mother of all BS! Is true the bracket was fix near the intersection of pipe bend up to prevent people for pressing against the pipe causing it to touch the wall BUT it should be drill into the tile instead of just place it there. Lousy plumbing skill! NeoBY, do not remove the bracket, instead you must turn it so that the hole should flat against the wall, if can wipe the wall dry and clean then put a black color industrial strength double-sided tape to stick the bracket to the wall instead of drilling it.
  21. I cement screed the whole 4A back in YR2003 for about $2,500; very sure now cannot get this price.
  22. Engage a separate contractor to do hollow block may not be cheaper as you may run into problem later. Why not you ask for the hollow block to be cheaper? Would you like to show us the quotation of the hollow block is use for what purpose?
  23. Plywood is still thin sheet of real wood, although warping is minimised but it is still possible if the piece is long or tall like a cabinet door when expose to dry aircon or direct heat source. Even raw plywood also can warp.
  24. Cool season (autumn) coming... go Taiwan for wedding photography. Guaranty no horse run.
