  1. Hi there, You missed out the masonry or wet works and plumbing works. concurrently will be electrical and aircon, not to forget installation of window and door frames as well. They will have to be done after your hacking. Painting should be one of the last items, before carpentry and flooring installation. Hope this helps. , Mike
  2. Yupz. I'm reading Disposed it already~ If not will rot over the weekend! , Mike
  3. Hi Alexz, to prevent chipping of tiles, always start with the smallest drill bit. followed by the next smallest to the exact size you require. tried it before and it works. , Mike
  4. Agree with Rayfox. As long as you like it should be fine. But have to consider you gonna be staying there for 10 odd years, so can be a bit mundane, everyday seeing the same tiles for the whole house. So you've gotta see yourself whether you will get bored or not, looking at the same tiles for the next 10 years. , Mike
  5. At $5880 for 580sf means $10 psf. Minus $2.4psf tiles means $7.6 for labour and material. slightly more ex i would say. Do note balcony need water proofing membrane alright? Check with your ID. Laminate flooring under flood wont be gone case. Just have to clean it real quick as it is only water resistant. So will definitely damage the flooring if left alone. Doors are not easy to dismantle. They maybe heavy too and might damage your floor if not handled properly. So its still best to engage the professionals to help you dismantle and replace. , Mike
  6. Hi there, Is yours a shop unit? Not HDB? Price will differ. Mike
  7. Plywood in the toilet showers ? Doesn't seem right... cuz plywood can't last long in places full of moisture. False walls in toilet are usually done using hollow blocks (what my contractors do lol), as for the compartments can actually use glass panels to act as shelves. But as Seng said, there are many other materials that can be used too. Hope this helps. , Mike
  8. Hahaz yupz. Gotta 'love' them. Work around it lo bobian~ , Mike
  9. As long as the pipes are accessible for repairs/maintenance then shouldn't be a problem. Meaning they are not concealed. But have to consider how the city gas piping runs in the house. These pipes will most likely be running along the ceiling. To run it to the kitchen island via the bottom means the pipe has to come down somewhere along the edge of the ceiling to the floor. This is still alright as it can be hidden behind the kitchen cabinets. Then comes the platform plus EPF method to hide the floor pipe. Unless you intend to platform the whole area... 'Mini' platform can't hide all piping on the floor... I feel it's not practical as well since kitchen is an area with quite a lot of moisture. No gas cylinder plus nono to induction cooker (I understand, all for the delicious food ) Run gas pipe from top then, can combine with water piping, so your kitchen island have water outlet as well. As for the ugly pipings in the middle, box it up make it into part of the kitchen island design. Hope this helps. , Mike
  10. No worries. My schedule also packed too. Yay weekend's coming. , Mike
  11. Nope. Not possible. There are steel structures inside so cannot hack. Suggest to hide that area with a fridge or kitchen cabinet. Flushing the main wall with this small column will minimize the kitchen space, so won't recommend unless there are no other solutions. Hope this helps. , Mike
  12. Hi bread, Sure will take alook. Have a smooth sailing renovation. Cheers, Mike
  13. Any dimensions? Without dimensions hard to advise but $1800 kinda ex. Hahaz its okays to engage another contractor tho not nice. Juz let your ID know you not decided not to do the bench lo Cheers, Mike
  14. Wow can choose from alot of designs. 5room living + dining should be big. Do some space planning first. Like where to put your TV, Sofa, Dining table. From there then the design. Wall color is depending on you and your family and also the among of natural lighting from the windows. Fengshui is also up to individual ba. You can opt to consult one. Hmmm as for carpentry... Ikea stuffs are not customized so you will definitely see gaps here and there as they are not build to fit. Customized carpentry will do more costly but everything will look more neat. Easier to clean also. , Mike
  15. Possible. Relaminating is an option. Couple of things to take note like increase in thickness, etc. Best is to do regular maintenance , Mike
  16. Na... my house also use the basic colours white and grey. its for my houseowner one. It's becoming a trend nowadays to get grout line with blending colors.
