Hi gimz63251073, It's true. When you say have fun with DIY, my mind went blank for a long time..... Don't think I have that in me anymore or never ever.

So one thing for sure is the standard varies. Some may be more lucky or the eariler batches quality is better. Beside the reality of the peanut vs cashrew nut and monkey, it is also the whole experience of dealing with unprofessional people. Some will say they do not have problems in their dealing that is because there is no hipcups. But the true colour / personality of the person /company comes out when the situation get sticky. Why do you need help if you do not have issue? You only need customer service / advice when you are struck in a situation, that where valuable advice, professionalism is important. It is the experience which you want to enhance or share with / caution your friends. Being a consumer, it is very clear that I would not buy any stuff from the company anymore nor would I have any good review of them.

But that beside the point, just felt that the company should do something abt it. At first we were just surprised. The anger shot up after talking to them. The attitude is beyond words can describe. Which now we end up have to DIY or to replace the gate if the same problem keep surfacing. I have a small kid at home, dont want her to touch the rust unknowingly. Didnt take down the names of the ladies - there are two. The one with vulgar language is a lady at 40 plus. The full of excuse one is the lady with colour hair.

YES!! I tot the design is simple and reasonable too. but if you are paying for a "too soon to rust" gate, then i think is not reasonable at all. Come to think about it, at $188 there must be a high profit percentage too, the material of the rusty gate should be cheap and they can consistently call it forever promotion price. I was too native to believe it. The staff was full of bull **** - I ask to talk to the boss, so she say boss oversea, wouldnt be back soon and the worker at level one told us, boss is coming after 6pm. But judging from the attitude of the sales staff and the so called manager, somehow feel that is pointless to talk to the boss too. He should know the quality of the item he is selling and he is the one selling it. Of course he wont bother, just your luck then. So any suggestion, what should I do next?

Pic - havent take yet. yours also? then your must be the expensive one. Like the staff say $200 is like that one!

Something unbelievable happened!!! We have purchased a wrought iron gate and installed on 9 July 2010. The gate was sold at a promotion price of $188 + $30 for an extended frame. On 17 July 2010 Saturday, there was raining heavily and gate was partially wet. To our horror we noted rust starts surface in the afternoon. The staff repeatedly making excuses and refuse to get the manager to the phone. So we went to the shop to seek for advice or recourse. The staff commented that “what can you expect for a cheap $218 gate and we have been in the business for 10 over years and can do without one less customer.” We seek to talk to the manager who unbelievably used vulgar language on us. The manger used vulgar language on us!! We understand $218 gate likely to come with a low-grade material. However we do not expect the gate to turn rust after one wash (by the rain). This happened only 9 days after the installation. The lousy quality material is not worthy of the amount we have paid for. Not only there are no after sales services; the staff attitude and behavior are despicable and disgraceful. I cannot believe or understand why a company with 10 years history wants to ruin its reputation and create such negative goodwill. Please comment and advise me what would you do if this happened on you.

My 3rm Reno
Fish_ replied to stray801's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Hi Stray and bbw Very nice houses. I will be collecting key next month for my 3 room flat, can you please PM your contractor's contact, name and company? btw - i only need to do minor reno eg, 2 toilets, L-box and painting- do you think your contractor(s)would be keen to take small projects?? thank you very much -
When we agreed on the quotation, the contractor estimate my kitchen top and bottom is appro 40ft. However the final quote I received after completion is 55ft, which is to my horror cos my kitchen cabinet is basically quite small. This is a U shape kitchen, consist of the followings: 1. one side 3 doors, middle 4 doors and the other side is 1 door. 2. Some boxup to hide the pipping. - 4.5ft -$405 3. A 10cm space to put sauces which I was told ithe space taken up 2fts. that is $180 4. And 3ft - 10cm thickness laminate to join the cabinet with the strainless steel backing - $270 5. Due to the U shape, I have two L shape corner and was told the corner is count as double. 5ft - $450 I was very taken aback because I didnt expect item 2, 3 and 4 to be calculate as the same rate as the cabinet with door. And also same for item 5, why do I have to pay twice while I only have one working space? All these add up to be $1305. Which is alot of $$$$ to us. For item 2 -the carpeter advise us not to waste that little space and he can do a simple shelf for us, if we know this so simple shelf will cost so much, we would rather not to have it. Help! can someone advise me what to do? Is this the norm or regardless of how much space or material you use, will be charge at the same rate as the cabinet. ie my cabinet is $90/ft. Anybody has similar experience? And also the open cabinet without door is charge as the same rate as cabinet with door - is this correct?

Changing Job While Planning For A Kid
Fish_ replied to kellyla's topic in Pregnancy,Parenthood and Education Matters
I'm a good example. I planned to look for a new job after serving my 3 months notice. And... then I was a month pregnant! I tried sending out some CVs and all went to the deep sea. Now I am 5 months into my pregnancy, can only stay home shake legs and of course got to tighten my belt as well. It is indeed very stressful. So the only advice I have is to have some cash reserve, you never know when you need it.
